I tend to park my sub at the entrance to the DGR and take a seaglide in, you can explore pretty much anything in there with a ultra high capacity tank and a glide.

Falling into a spider nest in Terraria is pure nightmare fuel, but that's mostly because spiders are my weakness. Plantera boss is pretty spooky too, a maneating plant slowly stalking you through the jungle, but you are mostly OPed when you get to that point so it loses impact.

If your intention is to go beyond the DGR into deeper areas, I'd recommend taking another route. It's not very Cyclops friendly and the Seamoth will quickly bottom out to max depth once you've gotten there. It's easily done with the PRAWN if that's your preferred mode of transportation but then you just gotta be wary of dooks shutting down your walky boat.

I find it best to just bank hard around a natural curve, being they mostly hang out in caves there's plenty to be found. Trying to outrun them in a straight line is a bad day.
