Explain how please, I just started playing and I don't really get the changes to his corner game. My friend mains Chipp and annoys the shit out of me though.

Why do they hate Potemkin? Every patch I expect them to give him 2S vacuum and every patch I'm disappointed.

So why was Johnny the only S+ tier that got spared with the nerfs?

Johnny wasn't really buffed except for the stagger bonus and there were already setups to get damage regardless off it, just ease of use changes to make MSDTH and jD MC stuff easier and the projectile "buff" might fuck with his combo ending.

He gets absolutely nothing every time. I don't understand it. Why even bother putting him in the game when they know full well he is garbage and won't ever actually improve him?

I mean, changing moves to have lower startup sure is nice but it can sometimes fuck up with certain combos. Like 80% of your bull bashes are after a hawk baker from your basic BnB, so I hope this change doesn't affect the with the follow ups.

I fucking love that 6H vacuum effect, now safely distancing 6H from throw range can now confirm into something that isn't average.

As for Bull Bash, that just means opponents get hit higher after the hawk baker crit. It might need retweaking vs Light characters, but atleast vs Heavy characters it'll always confirm the combo

Like with Potemkin, every patch there is that tiny band-aid buff that barely improves his gameplay and doesn't even budge his tier placement and then ArcSys be like "OK here are your buffs now shut up".

Because grapplers are an impossible-to-balance conundrum. Either they can always get in and flatten people or they can never get in and have to play the same game as characters that don't rely on grabs. Otherwise, he'd just be a normal character with fucking Potemkin Buster, and I would hope you can see why that would be a problem.

Just picked up this game and gone back to my boy Faust from MC and I gotta ask a dumb question.

Im trying to get down basic combos down consistently but having a hard time, for example with faust, doing the stab+reel + slapup + chop thing, i can't do it twice in a row. Forward half circle + kick -> back (long range stab + reel in) is fine, I then immediately go for the forward quarter circle punch once the reel in animation starts to interrupt, I always get the slap up but then it seems totally random if he jumps up and allows me to do the second forward quarter circle + punch for the chop.

The button inputs are identical when I succeed and when I whiff so whats the deal. Does the second quarter circle need to be done really quickly or is it a matter of doing both without letting the joystick go to neutral? Do you whiff if there's an input error ? like my joystick is moving into another position before im letting go of the button in time or is it to do with inputting on the right frames

this shit is complicated as fuck and 360 controllers seem to suck dick for fighting games, but am i missing something fundamental?

I'm shit at the game so I won't pretend like it's some hard manoeuvre to do, but reliably doing the 6K>214P and then not dropping the combo is a pain for me, and making the vertical launch even smaller just makes it seem like it would be more difficult to do as a result

The confusing thing is the follow animation seems to start with the down part of the second quarter circle but I end up cancelling into throwing an item most of the time which is the same input. So im just not cranking fast enough?

No new version has been announced yet, presumably because of DBFZ, though I believe plenty of the Guilty Gear team didn't work on DBFZ and were working on GG instead. I wouldn't be surprised if a new version gets announced sometime this year, though.

ArcSys said that Team Red will work on DBFZ 8 months after the release. But would agree that they have been working on the new ver of GG... I want my trap

It seems like they're trying to encourage people to make use of his scroll gimmick more seeing as his great normals are what people make the most use of with him. The problem is that they did that by fucking up his normals more than they did improving his scroll gimmick, which isn't going to encourage people to take advantage of his gimmick, it's going to encourage people to not play as him at all. I really hope they don't stick with the changes they made to him.
