ring matches are wonky for everyone at the moment, bamco are working on fixing it though

Ring match issues seem to be a PSN problem - they are fixed temporarily by restarting your console and they work just fine on PC

Guard canceling, quick tagging when they let up pressure, and empty vanish all work. Alternatively if you play someone like hit with timestop supers you can just use that as a reversal to get out of pressure and DHC for a swap.

On a side note is that a common link for BnBs? The only character I've put a ton of lab time into yet is Hit and he plays really weird. My number one goal in most of my combos is keeping them grounded because literally all he has in the air is a basic as fuck staircase into either a snapback or level one while on the ground he has some of the nuttiest stuff I've seen.

Yes, pretty much everyone in the game can jump cancel their standing 5M, so most full combos have a 2M(sweep pops them up) 5M(juggles) into jump cancel L.

He's pretty easy to play and edgy so you know every noob is gonna play him. Hes flashy and has some cool moves but his lvl1 damage is lackluster. I'd rather play Black than Blue but Id also rather gouge my eyes out than have to play a fucking Super Saiyan God type character.

Against Yamcha you've got to look at how they're using WFF and decide if you should be ballsy or patient.

If they keep going for the crossups and never just finish it normally, start mashing L when you see it coming to interrupt them.

I've played a couple other Yamcha's but most don't seem to get how his pressure actually works - you're trying to make the opponent scared to interrupt so you can start ending strings early and mixing up between starting another LLM frame trap into WFF or a throw

He's just some fag Kai in Goku skin

I'm a little bit worried that I might put all this effort into hit learning really character specific stuff then he just turns out to be shit because his AA is godawful but damn he's fun.

Yeah - I took one look at the hit combo challenges and decided he requires way too much precision for the damage he gets.

Ironically Yamcha seems to have better pressure and punishes at the expense of needing meter to do any damage at all

Yeah blacks assist is good. He just doesnt do anything that really wows me though. Most people online cant seem to handle him so everyone is interpreting him as high tier. Hes good, dont get me wrong, just not great.

Trunks is also good for combo extensions and pressure.

To be honest if hit wasn't EXACTLY my kind of character there's no way I'd be touching him. His ice juggles are so tight I'm starting to suspect they're frame perfect.

Yamcha fits with him so well and his punishes are great (seriously, even whiffing his autocombo beats out tons of stuff it's so active) but some of his pressure is seriously fake, especially mwff's crossup. He seems like he's gonna be more a yomi character with the ability to sway multiple times during wff, and of course his level 3 having more iframes than like anything else in the game.

Do you use a controller?

Literally just roll your thumb from 2 to 4 or 6 whitout lifting it up in a fast motion. That way you will always get it.

Also if you want to do air dashes quick enough jump in the 1 or 3 direction and just push 4 or 6 respectively quickly after

Ahh, but that's the beauty - it only APPEARS to be fake.

See, if you start attacking at the gaps Yamcha can just stay where he is and continue the WFF - you'll get tagged, he can spend a bar to pop you up and dash back under for a full combo.

Yamcha's pressure goes through stages as your opponent adapts, and any stray hit gets a conversion as long as you've got the meter for it.

Its pretty easy, just spam QCB after you use the S and then just mash L.

18 is only good because her level 1 DHC's into all of Kid Buu's projectiles going up which has literally broken damage right now. Kid Buu is one of the safest characters in the game and does a gorillion damage and builds a gorillion meter

Kid Buu is one of the best fighters in the game - stretchy mediums, special cancels that make all of his blockstrings totally safe, tons of meter, tons of damage.

Vegeta's merely ok - an aggressive fighter lacking a lot of the tools you'd want in one, but his assist is easily one of the best in the game.

Probably both top 5 characters
