Gotta agree. Breath of the wild was good. But it certainly wasn't fantastic. The next Zelda installment should go back to it's original roots.
There are 12(4) heart pieces you utter moron.
Heart pieces were never a satisfying reward. At least in breath of the wild money has more meaning than in any other zelda so money rewards are kinda ok but still not great.
I actually found most of the game to be unfulfilling. I miss dungeons.
Spirit Orbs = Heart Pieces
I felt a greater sense of rewarding finding heartpieces than anything a sidequest provided in botw
reward*
money can be made so easily through selling the various ore you will find plenty of I never considered rupees to be much of a reward
I never gave a single fuck because zelda was always so fucking easy that there was no need beyond the heart containers the bosses provide. In botw I can at least invest in useful stats.
Hunt animals, cook prime steak, sell them for a shitton
Or alternatively. Get better side quest rewards. Like more unique outfits
I legitimately want to know why? You're always given plenty of hearts just from beating the bosses. Why is adding unnecessary health to your already bloated defense rewarding to you?
Nearly all side quests are fetch quests anyway. They’re shit. And yes, I have finished all 76 of them and all season pass ones.
Orbs are pretty much the same thing as heart pieces, and a decent number of side quests lead to shrines. There's not much of a difference.
How are they any different than other Zelda side quests?
I never did a sidequest where I got a spirit orb as a reward, I had to complete boring shrines for that instead. There were still sidequests in the game though, they mostly gave me rupees which wasn't a very statisfying reward.
Not even dungeons, the game doesn't even have fucking caves. The most fucking barebones requirement of a Zelda game and it doesn't have that.
Yep. Its almost like they didn't have to bother trying because they it would get high scores anyway
Which is sad because in games like Assassin's Creed and Far Cry, the best part of the game are always city maps or building complexes rather than the open world.
Yeah, but what does Nintendo care? There might be nothing of value in the game's map, but they got their good review scores.
What if they let the game empty on purpose to get even better reviews when they add things in it in the next game ?
Do you really want as a game publisher to release a perfect game ? You're 100% sure to get rekt when the new one is not or even as good as the old one.
>Do you really want as a game publisher to release a perfect game ?
Of course I do. Because I don't care if the sequel is slightly worse, then.
Are you arguing that BotW is lackluster on purpose?
>boring
Shrines were the best part.
Wait, some sidequests give spirit orbs?
Side quests are so weak in this. Why bother?
>go over all of hyrule hunting rare bugs for some bitch
>lol heres 50 rupees
Also not many secrets in the game. I miss shit like bombing walls and finding moblins who give me more inventory space as a reward for exploring. Now youbhave to find AHHaHAs for that.
>rare
I'm saying it has its faults and that they probably were fully aware of them and they've decided to let them in and improve on it the next game.
If your game doesn't improve from one to the next, you can be sure you'll have retards crying everywhere and bombing your reviews and your sales.
Sounds like you're giving Nintendo a free pass because "it'll be better next time!". Maybe that's what people said about Skyward Sword.
I'm not about to buy the next Zelda game anyway. And i'm selling my switch soon, so..it didn't work on me.
...
I'll take random Switch thread, I was QA tester for Switch version of Red Dead Redemption 2. Yes, it is happening but it won't be par with Xbone / Ps4 version.
"> 540p handheld / 720p docked"
"> 30 fps but goes below 20 fps in dense areas"
"> Very noticeable pop-in, lower texture quality and resolution, populated areas have less NPCs roaming around. Imagine playing in low settings"
"> Many demanding visual effects are removed or very lowest settings, no anti-aliasing, no depth of field, foliage is bare minimum"
"> No HD rumble or Gyro support"
"> Like with L.A. Noire, you have to download rest of the game from eShop if you purchase retail"
"> Game was delayed for Switch version, Take-Two wants to release all version simultaneously. Port is rushed"
I have not heard nor seen anything related to GTA V Switch port.
>completing sidequests was so unfulfilling
Thats how you get half of the heart containers in the other games
I always felt fulfilled actually beating a shrine or challenge. Being rewarded with an orb though? Eh, not my cuppa tea. My issue with BotW is the lack of reward you get for your work. It feels more like you're just increasing arbitrary values (i.e. Health, stamina). Obviously that's not a terrible reward as each aid you in game play but, it's not very exciting or interesting. Same goes for getting weapons or food as a reward. These things aren't really exciting because they're consumable. At best you can add them to your Compendium. Which admittedly I did enjoy doing but it's a shallow consolation. I'm not sure how the next Zelda can remedy this issue. Maybe make weapons permanent? Include a richer variety of rewards? Who knows. I enjoyed BotW's game play, I just never felt justly rewarded for my actions. For those keen to tell me it's about the experience/journey not the reward, to that I say, don't decide what is fun or satisfying for other people.
