Now that FighterZ has set a new standard of quality for Dragon Ball Z games, what can be improved upon in a sequel/DLC/patches?

HARD MODE: Not the obvious shit like removing or nerfing autocombos

>special autocombo hits are also command normals
>Beam clashes
>different assists for each character
>add DP motions for new specials

False Roman Cancels
Mortal Counters
Hellfire
Forcebreaks
Homing Dash Cancel
Overdrive
Exceed Accel
GRD
Guard Primers
Reverse Beats
Chain Shifts

Beam clash minigames would just dilute the depth.

>special autocombo hits are also command normals
No thank you.

I don't want yamcha to have his handstand or beerus to have his crossup just whenever the fuck they please.

Not requiring the player to go into a lobby for offline modes.

MVCi's online

The depth of what? Neutral? They won't appear very often especially if you don't play a character with a beam and it is there to reward dexterity just like mashing for extra hits in Marvel 2/3.

Making transformations just down down super they already have a base form model for most of the cast

A new special for most if not all characters.
A better looking UI.
More game modes.
A Guilty Gear style training mode so xenobabies can understand how to actually play and get experience.
More characters.
More options to buy things. Currently it's only loot boxes but I wouldn't mind seeing a premium zeni shop that has expensive items but only a few. For instance like 100 premium tokens gets you one special alt color or something.

Nerf Kid Buu
Buff Gotenks

Better walk speed, proper timing needed for chains, faster game play in general. better reversal options, (including an alpha counter) revised scaling (less damage early in combo more later, currently using anything that costs more than 3 bars really isn't worth it) I'd honestly like level supers to be two bars but scale less late combo. improve Ki charge so it can actually be useable in certain setups.

I think walk speed is the biggest one the game really forces you to use instant airdash, pursuit or assist+dash to get in. walk speed would also give the Oki a lot more depth with proper meaties and shimmies. Currently the meta is just hard knockdown into blockstring pressure which is pretty much guaranteed damage because lockdown high low throw crossup is too strong good players aren't going to have gaps that let you parry or reversal super/tag etc.

More dramatic finishes god fucking damn
How the hell are you not going to have Trunks destroying 17 & 18? It's set up fucking perfectly

How do you DHC a characters QCFR2 super? I can only DHC level 3 and level 1. Can I not DHC into goku warp kamehamaha?

Didn’t they technically do that with the special zeni hercule design

You can get them if you got duplicates and guarantees something your looking for

I'm not that much of a fighting game enthusiast but I am a Dragon Ball fag

So far I'm loving DBFZ; Gameplay-wise it's perfect. The main things I would add to a sequel are more characters from the whole scope of the series (OG DB, GT, OVAs, Movies, Tournament Of Power, shit even Jaco if you want). There's one other thing that Dragon Ball games have never had and that's a soundtrack that's consistent with the anime. It's obviously because of weird copyright laws or something, but I think it'd take Dragon Ball games a step beyond if they could get the rights to include a few fan-favorite songs like Cha La Head Cha La or Solid State Scouter - maybe even remixes by popular video game composers, if such a thing would be possible.

Also nerf fucking sparking jesus christ you don't need extra damage from it and it should not last so long/should be a way to break the oppenets sparking.

So you basically want actual xrd with a db skin ?

no way fag, the last thing this game needs is longer rounds.

Add transformations at least for saiyans

Whenever I try to switch lobbies by talking to the receptionist, after being put into an auto lobby, my game gathers endless lobby data and I can never switch.

Did I get banned?
The auto lobby I get put into always has less than 10 people.

I switched accounts and my other account can get into lobbies just fucking fine. I want to use my main though.
Anyone else experiencing problems like this?

Can someone explain what a roman cancel is to me like I'm a goldfish with a lobotomy?

Unironically want reverse beat across the board.

The game has no rounds retard and it isn't long at all. I have never seen a time over or anything close to it. You are a fucking shitter who can't get damage.

More command normals/oppotunities to use chi blatss in combos.

Teen Gohan also has the most basic boring moveset.

Spend meter, cancel anything.

Roman cancel is a GG mechanic where you spend some of your meter to slow down time.
Basically you start a combo then use a roman cancel and the enemy gets slowed in space so you have more time to do another combo.

There's different variants but that's the basic run down.

if auto combos are so bad, why not just block them

Roman cancel is a thing in ArkSys's different game, GuiltyGear xrd;
pressing 3 of the 4 attack buttons cancels whatever you were doing, using up to half of meter(depending on wether you've hit or whiffed your opponent);
can be used for combo extending, neutral metagame, maybe something else too but i'm not sure cause i'm a noob

That's a terrible explanation and only applies to Xrd. It's just spending meter to cancel anything on hit/block

I want more character skins. There's so many different outfits characters have, and even people like Frieza and Cell could have their other forms as skins because of the lore of FighterZ being that everyone's true power levels are suppressed anyway.

You know how after you hit/miss an opponent with a move your character still has to finish the animation? Roman Cancel lets you spend meter to instantly stop the animation and let you act again, so if you miss you can suddenly become safe again, or if you hit the opponent with a really slow move you can start comboing them.

I have never watched dragonball but i love android 16 standing B.

Literally melts everyone.
playing someone namned gohan too. he's bruce lee goku and lord kot, he ok. i can do 2 supers to replace my dps.

im so good at this game.

Roman Cancel would be better without the time slow

>never watched dragon ball
>can't string together a sentence of english
nice try gohanpedro

Maybe now that people realize that DB fans actually like all that stupid "Kick a dude into a mountain" thing we can get that level of scale in other DB games.
Wouldn't mind Xenoverse 3 having actual destructible environments instead of just little craters and buildings that can get knocked over.

learn to read fag, I said the last thing this game needs is longer rounds, not that they are long. The game pace is perfect already and your stupid gay changes would fuck that up.

Xenoverse/Tenkaichi games are made on a shoestring for easy drooling fanboy money; if they're not willing to invest in developing some half-decent netcode they're sure as fuck not going to look into actual destruction physics

ability to make lobbies from outside of the "lobby"

training mode needs like 20 things added like more recording slots, ability to set rotations for characters like Ginyu and add fucking reversal on block/wakeup settings I'm not sure how they're letting capcom be ahead of them on this.

there should be two different versions of raw tag because as it stands forcing a super dash will make it extremely hard to ever accomplish it compared to just about any other team game. maybe make guard cancel super dash and raw tag just them coming in. raw tag should still be risky but the way it is now it's forcing the risk.

damage scaling with assist starter is probably a little too harsh. i feel like their goal for 2.5 combos into death is like hyper specific in 2.5 2M starter combos to death where only outlier characters do the damage idea(at the moment anyway) where others need to spend large amounts of resources to scratch 5-6k.

That's how it was in older GG games. Time slow probably lessened how much I use it because it gives the opponent free reign to buffer basically whatever they want and a lot of pressure in GG involves the opponent panicking because they don't have enough time to understand exactly part of your setplay you're going into now.

>still calling the match a round

The only thing they need to do is add a xenoverse-style lobby creation/search mechanic. It's fucking stupid that the only way to make or join a private or 6-player game is the broken ring match system that only works for the 60 people in your main lobby.

Just let me post a battle to a matchmaking list you fucks

>ArkSys

Does this game not have alt costumes? How the hell not? I hope they come out soon.

>All those fucking torn clothes/saiyan armor variants that were in the budokai games
>Busting up niggas online as baseball Yamcha
>Yamcha back to his long hair/classic design while Tien has his super design

They can keep dragging out that Vegeta shit where he was miscolored for a couple episodes, but they can't give me ripped shirt Goku or something? Come on, man. Can't be that hard.

Add a lobby/server browser for casual lobbies. Xenoverse 1 had this yet removed it from the sequel. Fighterz lobbies suck because you can only play your friends if they join the same lobby as you, manually. You can't invite them to a private game or a new lobby, they have to manually go to your lobby if it isn't full and start a ring match. That's not intuitive at all it's actually retarded.
So a private match system where you can invite people is what they need, not just in the sequel but as a patch next week.

You can spend meter to stop any moves animation. It lets you avoid startup on some projectiles as well. It costs a different amount of meter depending on if you are in startup/hit/recovery states for your moves. That's at least how it works in the latest Guilty Gear

The problem with reversals is the timing has to be strict or they are OP anf Nu-fighters hate strict timing.

The game meta is all hard knockdown, soft knockdown gives advantage to the wake up which is insane and means mash jab beats your meaties.

what if they kept the time slow on hit to help scrubs like me to combo (and anyway in that situation buffering wouldn't help for the opponent) but removed it on block and on whiff for setplays/mixups

I know. Time slow on RC was just one of the list of things that made me drop GG and pick up Blazblue instead.
Other reasons include danger time, special moves I liked being removed, and my man Slayer being gutted.

>straw manning since he doesn't have an argument anymore

arksys as in ark system works

Only 5000 more hours of online before I might not be completely worthless we're gonna make it bros

You are retarded.

>ark system works

why are all the trophies so easy besides the 530,000 BP (literally only 5 people on ps4 have it) and the 20/5 million zeni?

I fucking hate how strict reversals are in GG but I understand that game is all about encouraging aggresion and doing sick oki. Still feels terrible to balance with execution instead of a conscious decision though. I'd like it if we could guarantee a reversal at the cost of 50% tension or something (even though it would delete wakeup block dead angle).

>Does this game not have alt costumes? How the hell not?
The shading is hand-done frame-by-frame, a new costume would require every single frame of animation for a character to be re-shaded.

Not an argument.

The slowdown is just one step too far for me. I can understand dialing things back a bit after +R and wanting to continue where overture and vastedge leave off, but that slowdown bugs me to mo end.

Danger Time

I have mixed feelings about it. With no time slow it becomes way better for the attacker but with time slow it allows room for counterplay from defense. With no visible cue it just becomes a nightmare to ever try and whiff punish or realize what's a true blockstring and what isn't.

yes, them, the devs behind guiltygear and fighterZ

>faster gameplay
this is already like one of the fastest fighting games around. What do you want? To not be able to see the characters when they move? lol

I would love that so much but they probably won't do it since I'm pretty sure helping people react to it was the main reason they made the change.

DESU my characters getting better was probably the only reason I didn't make the switch either.

>Things in a video game have to be made

Oh, the horror. At least that gives them an excuse to charge for it. Even if it's just one costume per character it would be better than nothing.

It's arc, buddy. You're probably mixing Aksys Games in there somewhere.

too bad he didnt overdrive burst, would have one shot I imagine

There is not dev called Ark System Works

>2 hits does 90% damage

comeback mechanics fucking suck

Get good retard. Baby reversals make pressure worthless. Games must not have auto-block either so you can mash DP during blockstun. You need to look for the opportunity to reversal and do it fast under pressure. reversals don't need to be crazy punishable either. even dumb antiskill fags like Mike Z understand reversals are supposed to be hard.

Stop confusing people making fun of you with arguing with you.

Hand-drawn cell-animation for each new costume would take so much time it might as well be put towards an entirely new character rather than just making alternative costumes for an existing one.

It's not hand drawn is it? I though it was just 3D models using really good lighting and shaders

They would have to add the ability to burn meter to keep the beam going, but only for beam clashing. Who else can go the extra mile and burn more meter for more beam?

i have retardation when it comes to who makes what. please forgive me
what kinda name is "arc" anyway? what does it mean?

They need costumes like Tiens Saiyan/GT outfits and premium costumes like Future gohan, Bardock or king piccolo. Possibly with different animations on supers (despite being functionally the same)

>Not the obvious shit like removing or nerfing autocombos
obviously this is the most important thing
just fucking mashing one button to do a bunch of different normals chained is absurd

combos need to be easier

I don't think you understand quite how long it takes to HAND-DRAW the shading for every single fucking frame of a character's animations.

If they had done one extra costume per character for release the game would be coming out next year.

video.twimg.com/ext_tw_video/957853259569381377/pu/vid/1280x720/0fK71VOsBc-PFgmT.mp4

Baby reversals make pressure worthless if you have invincible / 1f reversals (throws) like GG does. I'm not asking for universal baby reversals because that'd be way too good with the options you have in GG (wakeup throw os, wakeup blitz, meterless invincible moves, etc) but I think it'd be fine if you have the choice to spend resources instead of just hiding it behind execution.

Oh bullshit. Jap companies shit out anime every fucking season, they should be fully aware of the time and effort this shit takes.

Meh who knows. Sometimes it's just a name.

>spending bar on shit that can easily be 2H'd
I'm sure it looked impressive to someone, user

You are retarded.

Pretty cool

>durrr wut r mixups?

No, it's literally hand-drawn. For every. Single. Frame.

That's why Xrd and FighterZ look so fucking amazing - actual animation doesn't treat characters like consistent 3D models, so if you use normal automated lighting engines you get something entirely different from the "anime" look.

It looks like a ton of that of that is minus on block

Because every anime of the season looks like Xrd and Fighterz, right? That's why anime today still has that sweet 5 tone shading-oh wait.

this is what everyone wants, why would they want anything else?

they want 3v3 xrd regardless of what skin its got. dbz just works well for it because there's already a billion characters they can throw in

just lets you spend meter to animation cancel so you can do shit you wouldn't normally be able to do

the hp recovery is what needs nerfed. you shouldn't be able to tank supers and heal it back within 2 seconds

I don't get why people are so bothered by auto combos in this game. Most of the DB games have maybe 2 attacking buttons you just mash and a ki button, all this one did was add some quarter circles, and people still can't do it right.

>durr what r mixups
I'm not sure you understand what mixups are because all of those jumps are super fucking react-able.

Besides that you could just super dash IAD and get the turn without needing to give your enemy extra time and an extra cue to react AND spending meter pointlessly

No one is worse than me at this game.

>nerfing autocombos
>improvement
Fuck off

don't make every single character have the exact same bnb sequence
it's kind of fun to be able to pick up literally any character be half decent at them but it really gets old doing the same combo with every character over and over again

my wish lists
>hides HP gauge
>saiyans can turn into super saiyan whenever they want
>use objects like rocks for more damage

(geometry) A continuous part of the circumference of a circle (circular arc) or of an other curve. A band contained within parallel curves, or something of that shape. (electrics) A flow of current across an insulating medium; especially a hot, luminous discharge between either two electrodes or as lightning.

That father son kamehameha probably still would've beat out Piccolo's level 3 solely because of how long it lasts without being extended.

Yeah, that's nothing and I'm a little baffled as to why user thinks that's viable without an assist keeping him from getting smashed into oblivion

Not me, but my friend is an actual animator and he's laughing his ass off at the responses in this thread. It's literally normal ass fucking shaders that the only reason you give this much of a shit are because they put in slightly more effort than anyone else.

An actual functioning online mode
