Everyone is complaining about making 1 pack every 2/3 day average but that's not even the big issue imo.

This game is supposed to have the entire standard rotation in and cards will have to rotate out, that's a fuckload of cards to collect and cards that will become useless every few months, if they don't increase the gold and make a way to just straight up buy singles gl being able to ever make more than 1 deck even with the current implementation of wildcards and I already feel how the rotating format will be extremely frustrating.

We'll see how the economy plays out but at least the client is good. It's fast, decent looking, and automates just enough to make turns go by fairly quickly.

Valid complaint. Original computer MT:G game was great because it had story based singleplayer where you travelled the map, fought other mages, gathered resources and bought cards.

20 years later they still cant make a proper MT:G game as that one.

This is still the best Magic game and it's a shame nobody has tried to replicate this genre format.

Is there any manual stops in this game? Its pretty shit that my opponent instantly know when I can cast a response/counterspell because the game pause only when you can cast those.

Not yet, I assume they are working on it seeing how many people are rightfully complaining about that on the forums, for the rest you can manually activate full priority control with ctrl+shift.

Not in the beta, but one issue I've had with Eternal (that doesn't exist in MODO/MTGO) is the auto-pause that occurs when you have a spell castable in response. It gives information to your opponent and greatly hurts you. I know they won't put auto pauses on each step since they want the Heathstone babby crowd, but how do they handle it in Arena?

you know theres a thing called MTGO where you can play the actual MTG digitally, and can ever do drafts, right? costs about the same as the real MTG too, just you get no actual paper

also the interface is awful but once you get past that its all smooth sailing

WotC is notorious for fucking up anything digital they're in charge of. The comments on their official card database have been broken and unusable for over two years ffs, and that's just basic browser stuff, not an actual game

How come Blizzard has only one single balance strategy: if something is good, make is unplayable bad?
They utilize it in all their games, from Diablo II onward.

In fact, they've effectively said the opposite. They only plan on supporting current Standard and forward.

Even in Diablo II they nerfed the best builds every patch. I remember a lot of people crying over WW Barbarian being hit hard, people who literally invested hundreds of dollars buying items and charms.

Plenty of card games had single player campaigns with lore and stuff. I don't see why Magic can't do it especially when the game has a ton of lore potential.

My issue with Cockatrice is you play with Armenian coal miners who don't understand the stack and you either need to 1) teach them grade 4 English so you can proceed to teach them about the stack or 2) just scoop and blacklist anyone non-English speaking you come by.

No, you can't trade or sell in arena on top of all the other issues, so this game has 0 impact on MTGO, it's just a way to attract the casual crowd to mtg.

No, how would that even work? The stack has always been the fundamental way cards interact with each other. You may be thinking of combat damage not using the stack anymore, but even that was like 8 years ago or something

The game caters to casuals. You can't really host tournaments when the game is from the base broken due to them providing default mechanics (skipping steps) to appeal to HS kids.

Yeah, I've played Xmage as well, but it's extremely buggy. Very nice for drafts/sealed, though.
