So who exactly was out there buying Xbox Hueg's back in the day?
Despite the fact that it sold more than the Gamecube, I saw fuckloads of gamecubes at kids houses in my youth (PS2's also obviously) but literally never once even SAW an Xbox. The closest I got was knowing a guy who was friends with a guy who's buddy owned one.

I had one because Halo was so far beyond any other console shooter at the time, plus it had the superior version of Max Payne.
I eventually got a ps2 as well and in the end the ps2 had a significantly better library. But I loved my xbox. It was worth owning both. I got the GameCube for resident evil remake and 0. Great gen over all. Being an idort feels good. Still have all consoles plus pc today. Shame the xbox one is dogshit. Ps4 and Switch are both great.

It might be an age thing. I'm a good bit older than the majority of Sup Forums and everybody I knew was getting PS2 and Xbox while Gamecube was more rare.

I had one, got it instead of GameCube because my dad said it was more powerful and had Halo. No regrets, it was an awesome console. Ripped my Eminem and Blink 182 CD's onto the hard drive and listened to them while playing THPS3 or on the custom radio station in GTA3/VC.

I owned one. It was great. Halo all of the time. Halo lan parties. Halo coop. It was a great halobox.
Xbox was the Halo machine. Halo was a massive step up in the FPS genre for people who never played PC games. I remember being blown away by it when I first saw it at a friends house.

Also not sure why it seems like I’m the only one who was Gamecube and Xbox. They probably had the most generation defining games in Halo 1/2 and Melee.

I had one and I'm not sure why, but I got it around the time it came out as a Christmas present. I don't know why I chose that particular console over the PS2, because I'd had a PS1 before that, and used to play PS2 at my uncles house, but it had Halo and Jet Set Radio Future on launch, so it was fine with me
