Is the game dying or even, is it already dead in the west? The game used to pull 3mil concurrent players and this week it never got over it.
Moreover I've heard that Tencent will acquire publishing rights for the game in China, which means chinese playerbase (which is the biggest demography in PUBG btw) will disappear from the current build. Will this game finally die?

Funny, yesterday I tried both of these for the first time.
What I noticed was:
PUBG: you can survive a headshot
Fortnite: Headshots are instakills
yet PUBG is supposed to be realistic? wtf?
It's literally ArmA 3 in shit.
>45 million players
What the heck, that's more than Overwatch's 35 million! How are they doing it, lads?
>45 million playing Fortnite
>35 million playing Overwatch
What are the rest of the people doing?
>Fortnite: Headshots are instakills
Only with Snipers and if full armor then only bolt-action ones
>Overwatch's 35 million
that's bullshit
>Chinese man concerned about someone else copying their game formula and structure
Oh thats fucking rich coming from the land where copyright is an unheard of term.
>rip off name and concept from cult movie and manga
>make mod on Arma surfing on the survival game popularity kickstarted by DayZ
>patch together hasty game on EUIV
>make hundred of millions out of it
>gets mad when industry copy and improve it
We're supposed to feel bad for them or something?
PU is Irish and the devs are gooks.
It's free
Free on 3 platforms.
>pubg
>spend 30 minutes looting
>mods for weapons is cancer
>get hit once feel like you lost an advantage for the rest of the game
>die to some fag prone in grass, or chinese hacker
>fortnite
>fast gameplay
>looting is instant
>being out in the open doesn't mean you die instantly
>its fun
>no lootbox shit
If I wanted to play Arma battle royale i'd just go play Arma 3.
>rip off name and concept from cult movie and manga
Romans been doing it two millennia earlier, bud
Go on twitch and scroll down to "Rules of Survival" for a laugh.
Battle Royal games are stupid desu, its a concept that belongs as a gamemode in a MP game with many modes but playing a single game in a single mode like that, how does that not get boring as fuck, how do people play it for 100+ hours
How many games have you played recently that had many game modes and where all but one were not completely dead a month after the game has rolled out?
Man, you just suck. Don't blame game for being stupid.
>Fortnite: Headshots are instakills
>being out in the open doesn't mean you die instantly
So which one is it?
Could be the fact that
1 - Fortnite is free and
2 - PUBG has shit optimization is still feels like a game very much in early access
I'm pretty sure accuracy is a bit of a crapshoot but I'll be honest I've never played it, only seen it played.
It's going the same as it always has
The difference is that fortnite isn't 40 fucking dollars
If this had anything to do with quality, then FIFA wouldn't be a number one game anywhere ever because people would actually care about what they're buying
Fortnite is free
>Death arena derives from Japan
Fuck you
It's not even a complicated concept you dumb fuck
Wait, Fornite was doing celebratory tweets for every million players (last I seen was at 3) and all of a sudden they have 45 million? That sounds suspect.
they're tweeting for concurrent (as in, all at once) players. 45 mil is the total count, and not that unbelievable if you account for smurfs and the chinese, same as pubg, it's probably closer to 5-6m, again, like pubg.
I would wait to announce another player benchmark until I hit 50 million if I had a game this popular i also wouldn't make costumes 25 bucks but got to make that cash someway
Fortnite doesn't have servers in China it's only North America South America Europe and Oceania
They're on the oceania servers. A game doesn't HAVE to have servers in that area for people from that area to play, you know. I've seen a few chinese players on the NA servers, but that's another story.
PUBG still runs like absolute dogshit and it costs 20-30 for 2 maps. Fortnite runs well on a variety of systems and it's free. Really makes you think.
No they ain't. Look
twitter.com
Also
>20 million total. Not active, total players since launch.
Those are some questionable numbers in that article.
Jesus christ how old are you user? like seriously? You know Battle Royale is a book right? The Arma 3 mod is litteraly it. Moron...
kys
Yeah, so what retard? The Arma3 mod was named after a Japanese book you mong in which school kids are dropped on an island and they fight to the last.
>20 million
>as of november 7th
it's been almost 4 months since then, my man. You think that since they gained 20m in 4 months (july launch to november) that it's unrealistic they gained another 25 in another 4 (november to feb)?
I'd like fortnight a lot more if the building mechanic didn't exist.
I've never seen it used in anyway other than
>Oh I'm being shot at better shit out a wall
fortnite will only be not shit when the rest of the game is available, battle royale is trash in every game and so is everyone who plays it
There are people that stupid browsing this board... Jesus Christ I miss last decade Sup Forums...
Well that's the point, really. The main pve component where you're actually building fortresses and shit is a total failure and extremely p2w and gacha heavy.
pubg is such a buggy piece of shit mess it will never hold peoples attention for too long
You are missing the point. Total != active players.
I refuse to believe 80 percent of the player base is on one server the North american server can barely handle a couple million until I can't invite my friend. It would be unplayable for them.
and do you remember what happened to the romans user..
still counts
you are tripping balls, nigger
everyone only care about batle royale mode, noone will play the other shitty modes, just look at h1z1, perfect example
There's always this kind of faggot in these threads
>hurr f2p cartoon version is better because buzzwords
>it's literally the same fucking shit game
These NEETs do the same exact thing with Overwatch and Paladins. It's all garbage.
>if two things are superficially similar i can't tell the difference
you might be retared
>last time it broke 3 million concurrent was last sunday
>record concurrent players was on the 13th of january
Yeah user, it's totally dying. Finally this flavor of the month is dying, months later!
They're owned by Tencent who are Chinese, they have literally no problem with lying.
>retared
user, I have some bad news for you.
>fortnite
>get shotgun
>out classes all weapons except snipers
>win the game due to it getting a range buff for one shots
>ggez
nah I'm just drunk
So you have never come across a team on top of a mountain in a huge fort? Or an asshole under a roof piece?
Aren't both companies owned by Tencent?
Confirmed for retard.
>oh look guys am drunk on the internet xD XD XD
Either get a life or kys user.
>Moreover I've heard that Tencent will acquire publishing rights for the game in China, which means chinese playerbase (which is the biggest demography in PUBG btw) will disappear from the current build.
GOOD.
>45 million people made an account
>LOOK AT ALL OUR PLAYERS!!!
are we ignoring the real reason battle royal is so popular, blame valve and the devs themselves
valve for those dumbass cards people can farm
and the devs for catering to ever e-streamer out there to make everyone feel special
that other webm makes sense now
I have no idea what this post is trying to say
"I'm retarded"
Same as this post which can't tell the difference between a game developer and a piece of ""journalism""
>ITT the absolute STATE of Sup Forums
