If I'm not that big of a fan of things like Dynasty Warriors, but I love Berserk, is this still worth picking up? I've heard so many mixed things I don't know what to expect.

Musous are shit
If you love Berserk then you will have fun. It is barebones as fuck for a Musou but if you haven't played any of them you're not going to notice the difference. Keep in mind a lot of the characters feel like they play the same, though personally I enjoyed playing as Guts and Schierke the most. However Skull Knight isn't playable and most of the bosses aren't fun.
It covers the entire story all the way up to the fight against Ganishka with Zodd. There's also an Endless Mode if you just want to mindless hack and slash a shit ton of enemies.
Basically, it's a 5/10 musou but a 7.5/10 Berserk game.
>However Skull Knight isn't playable
DLC for that never happened? I remember a video of someone hacking him to be playable in the PS3 version.
Oh and even though it does generally cover the whole story, it skips Lost Children for obvious reasons
As far as I know he and Grunbeld aren't playable save for hacking and so far I don't believe anyone has made a mod for them on PC if you're going for that version
>DLC for that never happened
that's what many suspect but since it's been over a year since it came out in japan and almost a year since it's english release it's probably not getting anything new
If you want more Berserk games however, there's the PS2 Japanese game that's pretty good and the Dreamcast game which is ok
the only redeeming quality is the gameplay and it honors the story well with cutscenes with standard Omega Forces cutscenes. but you can feel the game was lazily, its quite lackluster but at least its fun to play when you're level 5 frenzy in verserker armor.
I enjoyed it a lot because im a berserk fanboy.
Playing as schierke is amazing.
Can also ride rapehorse if you're a memekid.
Emulate the ps2 game instead.
It was only released in Japan so you need to download a fan translation, but the game is great. Slow heavy sword swinging animations, hordes of demons that don't feel like a musou to cut through. You get to fight Zodd in the first 30 mins of the game.
There's also a game for the Dreamcast that's available in english and is pretty cheap to buy on ebay. It's similar but it's not as good as the ps2 game. The events don't take place in the manga, but the story was written by Miura so it's still worth a play if you're a berserk fan
I feel like Guts in the musou sort of feels how he did in the PS2 game. Only real difference I feel is not as many finishers.
you probably won't if you don't like Mosou. Straight up. I pirated it and still felt I didn't get my money's worth, and I fucking love Berserk.
I love Berserk, I like musous.
That said, berserk musou was utter total shit
getting dogmode later in the game is amazing as guts.
>Musous are the shit
FTFY
What didn't you like? You're not one of those nerds who expected the entire cast to be playable, are you?
>feel like they play the same
I'm having a hard time picturing Serpico, Farnese, Casca, or Griffith fighting similarly, but I've been surprised by things like that before.
found a webm
You dont use farnese, as for the others - they all fight differently. Serp has his cloak and slyph sword, lots of wind elemental things. Casca has mixed in martial arts/gymastic kicks / spins / flips etc, and griffith is fast speedy slashes with the rapier.
>no Susumu music in the game
it's shit wait for a steam sale
What? You can't play as Farnese? Why?
That's really advanced combat for the PS2.
why they skip lost children?
