>February 13, 2018: Classic Art Pack for $2.49 that makes character portraits look like ones from the original Nintendo DS game.
HA

>Remake an old game
>Charge more than the original release
>New content locked behind paid DLC
>Some OLD content locked behind paid DLC
Still buying anyway; missed the first release and by the time scalpers were done with it
I'd moved onto other games

Sad that such a good JRPG had to suffer this fate.

I'm glad literally no-one will actually pay for this

>not having a hacked 3DS and pirating everything
it's the current year, for fucks sake

This is why you should just pirate 3DS games

Gonna get it on a sale

this.
im glad you can pirate DLC as well. this shit is beyond ridiculous

PC Port when?

Someone has to upload the titlekey first, numbnuts!

>implying

chill out with the jew shit asshole

Fucking Atlus man.

>Literally having to pay for old art
What the fuck. This is why people pirate 3DS games.

why do you have a thumbnail saved

Picture wasn't impressive enough for me to get a quality one.

I wanna fuck Raine

Why can't we just have nice things?

fuck atlus
day 1 pirate

then play something else while you wait for it

>Classic Art Pack for $2.49 that makes character portraits look like ones from the original Nintendo DS game.
what in the actual fuck

>that fucking art style
>Stocke looks like a pathetic wimp
>Eruca is a fucking long-haired moeblob
>Raynie is far and nowhere nearly as cute
Also who the fuck is that girl in a bigass hat, new Marie?

>3DS game
>2018
who gives a shit

The irony here is that the new artsyle is what they actually wanted to go with the first time.

I'm going to pirate it. Try to fucking stop me.

Protip: You can't.

>February 13, 2018: Classic Art Pack for $2.49 that makes character portraits look like ones from the original Nintendo DS game.

>February 20, 2018: Rage of the Fallen $2.49 adventure where Stocke can rescue Aht and Marco in New Granorg.

>February 27, 2018: Settling the Score $2.49 adventure that has Stocke fighting seven bosses with Rosch and Gafka.
Was any of this in the original game?

So didn't Atlus pay attention with the EA shittery at all? Are japs late? Have they suddenly brought in some Gaijin management to mess with the sales? ... especially Square Enix is going super greedy as of late

At least Namco Bandai has pulled a great one with Dragon Ball Fighterz, no way to spend real money in-game for all the unlockable stuff, gotta earn it all. Gotta give them Kudos for that.

People who own a 3DS give a shit.

>remake the game
>keep dated graphics
>make no improvements to the battle system
>only new content is dlc

They can't keep getting away with this!

It's a wonder that Atlus let Vanillaware put all that stuff in the odin sphere remake. I imagine they're pretty pissed they didn't get to charge people for the classic mode, or sell each character as separate dlc.

No, the portraits are the only thing turned into dlc

I've never wanted to pirate a 3DS game before now.

>DLC

Aaaand out.
Oh well, modern vg companies don't want my money. I got the message.

Can I play this on rxtools or do I need the new thing?
Probably won't bother with dlc.

>make the game look like shit
>have to pay extra to make it look good again
fuck you Atlus

What firmware do I need to be on to hack 3DS?

So what exactly is good about this game? I saw some videos and I can't see why it has a cult following.

I was done with the 3DS anyway after I played Mario Party the top 100. They are not even trying at this point.

One of the most unnecessary ports in history.

>rxtools
Any

I don't remember Raynie being that hot

It's just really solid all around. The combat is relatively simple but random battles are easily avoidable and there's a lot of mandatory story fights. Despite the simple mechanics there's a lot of variety in boss fights and you need to use different tactics and the specialties of different characters to win. The story is fairly interesting. It's linear but there's a time-travelling element to the plot which lets side quests be integrated without being missable. The music is great. As far as "standard" turn-based jrpgs go I can't think of anything better.

>rxtools

How does it handle the time-travel plot?

Lots and lots of "alternative endings", depending on the choices you make. Some of them quite cool

Pretty much. Also, fuck their "art update".

I don't buy that for a second and neither should you.

It's very well written, full of different outcomes for every choice, and has a shitload of sidequests with no hand holding, which are MANDATORY for the true ending. I went in blind, got a standard ending, thought it was underwhelming and then discovered how much I had fucked up. Also, fantastic score and style imho. It's a gem.

IMO it's one of the few games that handles the topic of time travel pretty well.

I'll give them this. At least it's easy to tell what the hell Marco is.

That doesn't make any sense because there is literally no reason why they couldn't have used the new artstyle in the original game.
>hire artist
>hmm we want generic weeb shit but let's save that for the remaster

>fantastic score

It's one of those games shitty little DS speakers couldn't do justice.

It's a linear game where you hop between two timelines to progress the other timeline. You can also go back to an earlier point in the timeline if necessary to talk to someone for some event or sidequest or something. You character levels and gear stay the same regardless of where in the timeline you warp to. It doesn't make the most sense but it works. Just don't expect something open ended.

They just wanted the princess to have long hair, the artist drew her with short hair for some reason and they kept it anyway

This is not what you said. You said they wanted to use the new artstyle originally which makes no sense.

Should I pirate this or Alliance Alive?

what if I unironically like right more?

He is wrong, I am telling you what actually happened

As long as the in-game sprites look the same I'll still get it since I never got to play the original. Shame that new content is locked behind $$$ these days. Makes me wonder how Chrono Trigger DS would've been like if it had been released today.
