1 = 2 = 3

1 = 2 = 3

>Sup Forums does math

>1 = 2
Yes.
Sadly they didn't make a third game.

IT'S PAYNE

>want to play max payne 2 and 3
>have no interest because the replaced sam lake's face

That was the one thing from the first game that made me really like it. I haven't laughed that hard at a video game in a while.

MP2 has a mod you know.

Every time you pause the game

>DAT FACE

Is there anything more childish and selfish than "I don't like this thing therefore it literally does not exist"?

Is there anything more childish than denying facts?
Remedy only made two MP games, that's a fact.

I thought 2 was a fair bit poorer than the first. It introduced sexual/romance themes and I remember "fuck" being said, whereas Max Payne 1 was purer, a more innocent game. Sure it featured lots of violence, blood and depictions of drugs, but it had more self-respect than pointlessly inserting sex and strong profanity.

The first game also had the feeling of an old Norse saga re-skinned for 21st century New York, whereas the second just feels like a generic Tom Clancy novel. Only downside to the first game is the awful dream sequences, but they're fairly short.

WHACK'IM

you have a very well formed opinion that sounds like a load of shit you say to sound pretentious
games are toys for teenagers that old guys keep using to clinge at the past, dont act like they have some redeeming qualities or are comparable to any kind of real art, like the sagas you mention

It's only the bad guys who swear in 2, which I kinda liked.

Yes and then rockstar aquired the rights and made a pretty good shooter on the eurphoria engine. The cutscenes were definitely a departure from old Payne and it really sucks how much it has to load which can be mitigated by installing it on a SSD

If anyone says "but muh cover system" didn't fucking play the game, I didn't use that shit at all.

...

>Yes and then rockstar aquired the rights and made a pretty good shooter on the eurphoria engine.
That's like your opinion.
I found it to be incredibly dull, slow paced and realism oriented to an unfun level.
I don't even care about the cutscenes, the fundamental gameplay is shit.

Have you... played Max Payne 1?

Nothing wrong with swearing, if the first game had been like that then I wouldn't mind it being in 2. It just feels like a shift in tone from the more fantastic and "epic" toward the mundane and prosaic - like I said, going from the "hero on a journey" feeling toward a more generic cop/terrorism drama.

10 x 1 - 0.6 = 9.4

1>2>>>>>>Now fuck off cockstarfanboys

9.4x1-0=9.4

Why didn't he use his face for 2? I mean I know they had more money at that point but all he had to do was take a few pictures of his fucking face and upload it.

3 was garbage. Way to fucking long.

>tom clancy
>more generic cop/terrorism drama

Man, what? 2 loses the norse epic feel, yeah, but it replaces it with psychological drama, not Tom Clancy. Did you forget 2 has multiple TV shows that bizarrely reflect Max's life and bleed into his dreams? The funhouse level? Or the way Vlad is himself a sort of mirror image of Max?

>lives for pleasure and fun, Max lives for pain and misery
>gets into trouble with a girlfriend on the opposite side of the law
>wears a white suit, Max wears a black jacket

Maybe you don't care for that stuff as much as 1, but "generic Tom Clancy novel"?

>Replaced Sam Lakes face
What? Did they change the original face in the game? His face is iconic!

Story
1>2>3
Gameplay
3>2>1

I like all of them, although 3 is definitely not as replayable as the others due to the cutscenes breaking flow a lot, which can be fine the first time but definitely not afterwards.
Kind of have the urge to replay the first one now, maybe I'll go do that

The funhouse level was fantastic. It was definitely the best level of the game, both times it was featured. I never thought about Vlad being a mirror image of Max before, though I don't think that makes it less, well, drearily plain in tone and feel. Gives it depth, sure, and Max Payne 2 is a good game with good gameplay, but it wasn't an enjoyable a ride as Max Payne 1 for me.

>Jack Lupino

Yee-eaah, Jack Lupino. Spooky.
