I haven't played online very much yet, I wanted to clear the story first.

It's better than the PSP games

I just want to stop running into people who do nothing but spam hp attacks.

Why? They are predictable as hell if thats all they do.

Same here, all you have to do is dodge their hp attack then punish them with brave attacks.

Yeah but characters with stationary HP attacks like Vaan's cyclone are kind of annoying.

I tried the beta and thought the combat was clunky. MHW also came out just before it.

I have different expectations for competitive and cooperative games.

If the beta is his only experience he might've had a lot of slidshow games.

I play fighting games, just not a huge fan of the way Dissidia feels, probably doesn't help that I was expecting it to play more like EXVS.

What is objectively the best summon?

I think it's between Bahamut, Odin and Shiva.
With Shiva pretty much at the top.

Probably Shiva or Ifrit just because they are good for anyone. Bahamut, Leviathan, and Ramuh all depend on your teams EX skills. If Odin got buffed a bit he'd be picked a ton I bet.

Reminder that if you want to farm early Player Levels and gil offline, cheesing Gauntlet Mode Core Battles by using a ranged character and attacking their Core from outside the bubble works. I've found that Y'shtola is probably the best for this just spamming her air neutral brave attack since it has decent range and hits it 3 times and have just been swapping out my teammates as I level them.

If you played the first dissidia a lot, the two most important things you should know are that dodge does not have iframes and guard does not make the enemy vulnerable.

It doesn't have as much content but what's there is fun and fairly unique. You would be far better just sucking it up and going online though, pretend they're AI or something and enjoy the combat because it's much more about the actual fighting. The level of singleplayer modes are comparable to an average fighting game basically.

Was the beta a good representation of the final product ? I really disliked it after playing both the psp games for well over 1k hours each, felt like it was a huge downgrade ( Minus Graphics).

Not really just go in and see if anyone is playing and more than likely there are and thats if you can't find any matches otherwise. Even Gundam Versus you can still get matches all the time. And theres nothing wrong with facing the same people thats what people did in arcades for a long time.

How long did you play the beta for? The game is similar to the old games but also different so you have to adapt to a few things but the changes are almost all vastly for the better in regards to the actual combat.

11-15 has no villain you bum and Caius isn't even from the main line games hes a spin off character. 13's villain is barthandelus.

Ardyn would just play like Noct and Aranea is just a Boob Dragoon, XV doesn't have any suitable villains except for Luna's brother

The only 3 that are actively picked are Ifrit, Shiva, and Ramuh. Ifrit has the highest pick rate overall, but Shiva is more popular at low levels because she makes it more difficult to get broken and it's much easier to capitalize off her summon attacks.

Levi and Bahamut are used very situationally, a few teams like Odin, and Alexander is used by nobody.
