First time playing Fallout: New Vegas. Should I go Perception or Agility? The latter seems like it offers such a wider world of weaponry, but I kinda want to go full Brotherhood (I assume they're in the game) and do energy weapons. There just seems to be something wrong about wearing power armor but using ballistic weapons. What should I do?
Also totally going to side with the Powder Gangers. Fuck Goodsprings, I'm never coming back to this shithole.
Easton Carter
Why didn’t you just read the SPECIAL descriptions?
Tyler Wright
Doesn't really matter, you'll be OP by level 30 no matter your build. Have fun, tho.
Cooper Gonzalez
Agility
Noah Turner
Brotherhood aren't a major faction you can side with, but you can join them. Also don't go energy weapons, way too much fucking work to find ammo when you can just use ballistics
Aaron Jones
I did. Perception = energy weapons. Agility = Guns. Did I miss something or are you just retarded?
I'm playing on Hardcore Very Hard. It'll matter in between level 1 and level 30.
Logan Powell
play Fallout 4 instead, its better in every way
Nolan Morris
you need perception 6 for the better criticals perk or whatever it is, some really good perk, outside of that it's completely fucking useless if you dump agility you weapon draw/reload times become really slow
Julian Allen
Intelligence and Luck are the best, the rest are all meme stats. Fucking fight me.
Caleb Edwards
I vaguely remember reading a guide here not too long ago on how to get 10 in every SPECIAL category; something involving perks and implants and power armor/boonie/sunglasses. Anyone have the full thing?
Jackson Bailey
Fucking Todd.
Dominic Garcia
Yeah, use console, nigger.
Jaxson Perry
The brotherhood is in the game and if you ain't no pussy they'll let you join them. Laser weapons are cool, the only thing I didn't like about them was that enemies sometimes disintegrate and turn into a pile of ashes, which sometimes doesn't blend in well with the environment. Autism aside they're cool as fuck. Boost Perception and Agility equally and get the perk that boosts your perception by two points if you wear glasses. It works with sunglasses if you don't wanna look like a fuckin dweeb
Ryan Brooks
sneaky-talky-sniper is the best build in every fallout game.
Isaiah Bell
Whoa whoa whoa, hold up OP, don't do shit yet, don't even leave Goodsprings, and definitely don't listen to any of these scrubs itt. What you wanna do start run goodsprings run and kill Ringo. Then tell Joe Cobb you killed him and then kill. Then talk to my boy CHET at the Goodsprings general store about the powder gangers. Do this for 4 hours and get lvl 50 with your first round of perks. Then leave Goodsprings and get a 2nd round of perks after deleveling and instantly leveling up back to max level. Then go to Cottonwood Cove and talk to Decanus Severus about frag mines a bunch for legion rep. Then go to the fort and talk to Lucius so you can get safe house access for the lucky shades. If you do it all right you should be level 50 at the start of the game with double perks and nearly perfect special stats except Charisma cause lol dump stat. And nah animal friend isn't that great, plus fighting animals is fun. Also get Boone's beret, gives plus 1 perception and extra crit chance, truly best hat, looks cool too. Now you can enjoy the game the way it was meant to be played.

You didn't read it very well, or you misunderstood it. Increasing a SPECIAL attribute gives you some bonus points to Skills, like EW or Guns, but it's nothing you can't obtain through levelling or skill books.
You pick your SPECIAL based on the other things it modifies because SPECIAL is a bitch to increase. In this case, PER vs AGI is detection range on the compass (mostly worthless) and some decent perks vs draw/holster speed, reload speed and Action Points for VATS, along with its own perks.
Andrew Lopez
I still feel that Melee gets the short end of the stick, pun unintended.
Justin Torres
>Perception is useless since it doesn't affect accuracy and the radar it offers is redundant once you get EDE >Charisma is also useless, common misconception is that it helps with dialogue, but its actually just the speech skill that does it, you can raise it faster just by tagging and having high INT That should clear things up.
Owen Harris
>be sneaky in Fallout 1/2 Why?
Andrew Cooper
I was actually mad until I read the last line Have a (You)
Sebastian Kelly
But my Cass is much stronger with high CHA.
