Why is such a shitty, unpolished turd so popular?

Why is such a shitty, unpolished turd so popular?

because it's fun

>(You) for being a real developer and making a better game
Yeah okay

Because PvPfags will do anything to get their fix.

At least it's in the process of getting BTFO by Fortnite.

Meme genre. It's the new online survival game.

What ever happened to that DayZ game?

pretty much gta5 online

This is just the best parts of that. Equally as broken though.

They took out the zombies, made it a competitive multiplayer game, and called it PUBG

Because noobs cant handle a the steep learning curve that is armas keybindings alone

someone explain to me why this is fun? I find the whole 'fight in this small zone' thing extremely unappealing

Explain what's unpolished about it.

Because the core gameplay loop is fun with buddies. Shame Koreans have zero development skill

polish doesnt matter for mp games
the most popular mp games are mods

>military sim shooter
Only autists enjoy that garbage. That and manchildren who probably also were into airsoft or romanticize the military

The lead dev was a huge faggot who literally took the money and run to fund his mountain climbing trips. Then he claimed he wanted to make a game that wasn't a game at E3 or some shit.

>BTFO by Fortnite
You mean that game that's making zero money so the Paragon had to get axed?

Fortnite BR is better at:
+ Graphics
+ Framerate
+ Shooting
+ Map design
+ match pacing

But worse at
- the endgame is 2 faggots building giant towers in a tiny circle

>wrong
>wrong
>wrong
>wrong
>wrong
Its okay to admit you're poor

because china, also fuck china

while "normals" enjoy the game about using cooking pot as helmet and killing on sight everyone they meet. whos the mental here then

Majority of the playerbase is chinese. The chinese cheat to get lots of lootcrates. They then sell these on the market to make money.

It's literally just third worlders finding a loophole to make money.

It's not that PUBG is unpolished.
It's that PUBG copies the unpolished mechanics of Arma 3. The scope and depth of Arma 3 made the lack of polish acceptable, but PUBG is a much more shallow experience, which brings these issues to the forefront.

What unpolished mechanics?

>someone explain to me why this is fun?
It is somewhat of a novelty if you didn't play a lot of the ARMA mods and shit before, or Fortnight or whatever else has come out since. I'm sure some turbonerd user will post all of the extremely obscure games that did something similar, but I am going out on a limb to assume a huge number of PUBG players never played those. The act of looting to get yourself setup and then put that on the line with one death and whatnot is also pretty exciting and leads to some intense moments lategame, if that's your thing.
The game is wonky as fuck, though. At times the gunplay feels really solid and tight and at others like complete ass. It's largely an ugly unoptimized pile, but the core gameplay is different enough to other currently popular shooters. A buddy gifted it to me so I give it a free pass. Recognize it's ass that's fun to fuck around in and it's not so bad.

Every core mechanic except for shooting.

I don't see what is unpolished about the sound system (has gun crack, bullet whiz, when the shot hits the dirt or wall, etc.) or the new vaulting, or the inventory system, or the lobby design, or anything really. Go into specifics.

>I don't see what is unpolished about the sound system
Are you joking? Just because some of those things sound nice sometimes doesn't mean the sound system isn't all sorts of borked and you hear people opening doors six houses away or running on the other side of the first circle. If you wanna shill or troll, kudos, but come on bro.

The state of video games is THAT BAD

Not joking. In the 40 some odd hours I've played, I never encountered any issues with the sound. I thought the way sound traveled in Fortnite was less transparent, even.

>you hear people opening doors six houses away
On tp or fp servers? I've never heard anything from afar that sounded unnatural, maybe once from a glitch.

>or running on the other side of the first circle
You mean the first play zone of a match? No idea what you're saying here.

Okay now you're full of shit. I've had two separate instances of vaulting killing me instantly

Because you can hide in a shack, cook and eat a frozen pizza, go for a walk, jack off, do your taxes, watch Titanic, and come back to see you haven't died yet

How's that happen?

You mean multiplayer. Single-player games have had a great year.

Retarded non-argument. You don't get anything for winning, winning's not the point, per se. The journey is the point. The thrill of getting kills in a 100-man one life to live mode.

really? what sp games were good in 2017?
