Almost every case in AA has one character who is incredibly annoying but inexplicably the writers thought they would be hilarious and endearing. 2-3 is a case filled with nothing but those characters, minus the one in OP.

The characters suck.
It drags on.
The logic is dumb even for an ace attorney game.

...

It's just badly written. The idea is interesting but all the characters are awful, the murder plot sucks, and the motivations don't hold up.

The anime kind of fixed it.

>have a good premise where anyone could be the killer, an actual mystery
>fuck it up in the last day by just telling the player who did it

You tell me. I tried asking a lot of the same question during the 2-3 stream a month ago, and I couldn’t get a clear answer.

At least they fixed this case in it's second version, the killer whale case

Annoying characters for some.

For me, it's the explanation of how "Max" was at the crime scene. It's incredibly contrived and means that Acro delayed the inevitable through sheer luck.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

ha ha ha.

How the fuck did no one ever notice the bust under his wheelchair

It's so big that moe actually mistook it for max himself
Wouldn't it have been bumped around while moving the wheelchair? It's not like acro could keep it in place with his legs, they were paralysed

That case sucked too

everyone BUT the villan were pieces of shit

The murder method suck
The location is boring as hell
Pressing Moe getting you penalties
Moe in general
That puppet cuck being annoying
Writing drags on
It could have been a 1-day case

Moe was alright when he was serious, which wasn't often enough.

>That one part where Phoenix refuses to take a slip of paper from out of the ringmaster's pocket because he suddenly decides that going through peoples' shit is wrong

Also, this is more of a general complaint with the series itself, but why doesn't Maya channel the victims more often just to hear their side of the story?

with the exception of engarde's theme, the JFA ost is fucking garbage

Unless the victim had some big tonker wonkers like Mia, it probably wouldn't be worth it.
I don't want my innocent Maya to become a 40-year old man.

The regular trial theme is pretty good desu

I mostly agree but you don't like Great Revival?

That is kind of the whole deal with 1-4.

Its Cornered theme is no AA1 Cornered but it's still pretty good.

Takes too long in my opinion. I didn't hate the characters.
That the killer was given any level of sympathetic perspective disgusted me, too. Dude was a beacon of malevolence.

...

I’ve only ever played the Phoenix Wright/Professor Layton game. What is the best standalone Phoenix Wright to pick up?

Too late because she literally became a 40 year old man in spirit of justice

start with the first one

What the fuck was his problem?

Start from the first and work your way up. They're not meant to be played out of order.

>tfw I sympathized with Acro
A-Am I fucked in the head Sup Forums? It didn't help that Regina was annoying with her "innocence"

Damon "Was right" Gant

Great. Thanks, anons!

>how to make it obvious you did it

I liked JFA's version of reveal the truth

>did my console freeze?

He's a monster who killed the person who he owed everything to, because he named himself judge jury and executioner against a girl who was nothing more than an idiot.

>bro lemme stick my head in a lion's mouth haha what could go wrong haha

People hate the annoying characters and ridiculous over-the-(big)-top turn of events regarding the murder scene.
Me, being a model Sup Forums citizen, blame the bad translation.
Regina is wonderful. Acro is a sympathetic murderer. The whole case is a big "That's just how things are." so yeah. People are annoying IRL too.

The only redeeming quality of Regina is making Acro's actions seem more understandable and the entire situation more tragic. The tragedy doesn't work though because no other character is sympathetic in the slightest.

That carnival music gave me a fucking headache.

>Regina is wonderful.
She's an annoying shitty overly naive brat.

I didn't like it because what Acro did and why made no sense. It isn't a complete mess like AA4's second half, though.

>and the motivations don't hold up.
It makes sense if you think about it. Some extremely selfish kid just turned your little brother into a vegetable, made you crippled, and didn't even so much as give an apology and everyone else acts if she did nothing wrong? That would cause a lot of unbridled hatred in a man.

if you press the clown in court. its somehow your fault and you get a gameover. tho godot does that in the 3rd game

This was the absolute worst part of the case and I have no idea why people didn't address this. I found myself wondering if it could have been Moe, Benny, or Regina but nah real super obvious killer shows up at last second haha.

That's because she's pure (Japs standard). Animals like her, Phoenix and Maya like her, Edgeworth think she's pleasant. You're just mad jealous.

Fuck you nigga:

youtu.be/Yk8fTFbH248
youtu.be/mGSPYd5GcgU

>That's because she's pure
Yeah pure SHIT.
>liking a literal retard

The legal system was too slow and too corrupt. So he wanted to assume direct control.

>muh translation
You can't be serious.

killer simply gives up, no epic chase into breaking him

Ace Attorney has never really been about stumping you with the killer's identity. It's usually meant to be pretty obvious.

This applies only for the intro babby cases. NOBODY saw shit like 2-4 coming

>not agreeing with Phoenix and Edgeworth, aka people with patrician tastes
You thought I was 100% serious ?

The Victim in 2-3 didn't know who killed him.

Phoenix is a retard and Edgeworth is an autistic manchild that watches kid shows unironically. What now?

It applies for most cases up until the final ones. It is not very often that a case is built around figuring out who the killer is. It's about the procedure.

Doomed to being non canon.

For a while when I was playing through T&T I thought the twist in 3-5 would be Pearl wasn't able to channel Dahlia because she was still fucking alive and the true culprit

Best villain of original trilogy desu. Haven't played beyond the first three tho

I think this case gets hate because at the moment of playing the case people realize this squeal is shit and inferior. Then people play the last case with their expectations at an all time low and end up enjoying the last case because it ended up not being ass

>a retard
>surrounded by cute young girls and a titty monster
>won cases and BTFO'ed a famous prosecutor with a perfect record, Chief of Police, and a fucking ghost
>poker champ
>has best daughterus
Damn I wish I was a retard.

I just disliked JFA all around
>shit opening case
>shit music
>2nd case wasn't good but I didn't hate it as much as 1 or 3
>3rd case was a slog
>everyone says the 4th case redeems the game but I didn't much care for it.

Using a channeled spirit's testimony in court was controversial when they did it for the DL-6 case, IIRC. Beyond that in a lot of the cases the channeled spirit's testimony would be worthless at best and misleading at worst, like we see in 1-4 as well as most of the cases in Spirit of Justice.

>still a virgin, poor as shit, and lost his job for over 7 years
Yeah great life.

Franziska was pretty annoying too, and it says a lot about her being demoted to female teenage sidekick in later games.

Life has its ups and downs, and water is wet. He's still being optimistic which is the key to a good life. He also has many friends, and one of them is the best ghost mentor.
His luck stat puts Fate Lancers to shame really. Imagine having Phoenix's luck to get your waifu with 1% rate.

>Implying he never made sweet love with Iris in art school

Anyone know of any good games that play like Ace Attorney? I've played Danganronpa already, and I've played every AA game except the two DGS games.

I love clowns.

Have you played Professor Layton yet? It's not that similar but it's the one that comes to mind

OW

Literal balloons.
Maya is the best part of the AA series, all you Athena/Trucy/Kay fags can shut up

Maya is the BEST character

Yeah, I played the first one as well as the crossover. I like the atmosphere, characters, music, and pretty much everything except for some of the weirder puzzles and the endings. Hell, I even started the second (but dropped it for some reason). And it's not really what I'm looking for though - I want a game where you basically solve via looking at evidence, making conclusions, and comparing evidence and statements to pinpoint any contradictions.

No one who acted like Phoenix did in his early 20s could have possibly gotten laid.

Solve a mystery, I mean.

Doujin of Geiru with real tits and hair going to a birthday party with loads of shotas and having sex with them all when?

Basic taste for a basic bitch.

There's always Ghost Trick and the Zero Escape series, they're short and to the point but they're still pretty similar to AA in terms of puzzle structures

You haven't been in art school, my man. Those girls pounce on anything with a dick as long as you play your cards right. Plus Iris really did love Nick so I wouldn't put it past them

>Plus Iris really did love Nick so I wouldn't put it past them
I sorely doubt it, Dahlia would probably stab Iris if she did such a thing.

But I've played those as well.

It can't be that there's no other games like AA out there. That have the same kind of gameplay and all that.

shit. If I had money I'd commission that

Capcom made a Harvey Birdman game that was basically an AA clone.

what are you talking about? this case is da best. i especially loved the berry big top music youtube.com/watch?v=W2ofiwXPFkA

I've played that. It's not that great if you haven't watched the show beforehand - you can't even press every statement. It has some interesting ideas though (like not every case is a murder case, and it's more of a typical law thing).

Let's watch that tape again.

Why does he have so little porn? Both trap and /ss/

Fujos have shit taste. And gentlemen normally don't play AA4.

Ace Attorney basically created its own genre. I don't think you're going to find anything similar unless it's a direct copy of Ace Attorney.

>When you add a case to the original and it's the best one
Shame they didn't do it for the other games.

I agree that it was mostly garbage (that fucking objection theme, god) but there were still some good shit
youtube.com/watch?v=rC5g5PHEFa4

>Hey this 14 year old who we all thought was blind is clearly capable of stealing a gun from an Interpol agent that would've severely injured him from even firing it once, shoots it, misses, then somehow shoots again, killing the agent
>Lets watch that tape again and again and again

...

Jesus, 1-5 is so meaty. It's like 6 hours long, and that's if you know what you're doing.

canon explanation

>if you can't explain this totally-unrelated-to-the killer magic trick that everyone (including your assistant) already knew beforehand then you're shitty lawyer
>at least you can be an errand boy

anyone else think that the wound was going to be hidden under her nose

I will argue that recipe for turnabout is worse
