As someone said before, pad is something you can use for any game, but it's objectively inferior to specialized controllers. It's OK if you don't want/care enough to invest in such a controller or you don't want to relearn the way you do things, but yes stick is better than pad for fighting games. I've bought a TE stick after using pads for 20+ years and it makes a world of difference in many games (especially for mashing and multiple button pressing/holding/pianoing). It's no different than keyboard and mouse vs controller for fps games.
As someone said before, pad is something you can use for any game...
a good keyboard is actually better than stick for fighting games because the execution for motion is instant
No disagreements there
How the fuck do people play this fucking game holy fucking shit Sup Forums told me SFV was for noobs but it's so fucking hard. link combos are the most annoying shit ever how am i supposed to time a low crouch punch with frame perfect precision? how the fuck do i do 720s without jumping in the air like a faggot? why the fuck can't i ever punish the most reckless retards online yet they can full combo punish me off a blocked low kick like fuck this game and everybody who fucking plays this game it fucking sucks
>he plays Zangief
Sucks to be you.
Don't play pad
Shut up nigger I bet you play Ken like every other basic ass bronze bitch online
Hence why a hitbox exists, large buttons like a Fightstick, except with buttons to do movement. Its great for dashing and perfect control on movement, with the downside of being rather awkward to learn more complex motions. Really boils down to preference.
Stick was only necessary for old games where you had to perform multiple inputs within a frame or two of each other like for pianoing or plinking.
Can't think of a single modern fighting game that needs any of that. Pad is perfectly fine for everything that's out right now. You'll only run into issues if you go back to play something like super turbo or 3rd strike.
This, it's obviously based on personal preference and comfort but in terms of pure practicality and input, a keyboard will always be more responsive.
Shut the fuck up meme parrot
Here's your (You)
You wanna fucking go pro?
Anyone ever use silent buttons? Are they really any better and aren't less responsive?
can i play skyrim with this thing?
fightcade? which game
I am sad that this is a real thing.
We're hitting tide pod fucking knuckles porn, and it actually drawn pretty alright.
Super smash brothers. Only game playable on a pad also since Nintendo makes soytastic dpads
Meme stick players are at all time levels of getting BTFO at all levels of play.
You're either lying to yourself totally or are just putting more time/effort into it to justify your purchase.
When people say SFV is piss easy they are always comparing it to USFIV, which had really high execution standards. For the uninitiated, SFV is still a hard game.
Just try combos on practice mode until you get the rhythm/timing, watch some YouTube videos for help. Practice.
>objectively inferior
How so? Where's your data/proof?
>anecdotal evidence
Oh nvm you're just an idiot.
t. TES+ user btw
One could argue you can cheat with a hitbox by pressing both directions at once, essentially auto blocking an incoming mixup.
perfect stick right here.
>stick player cucking for pads
Your wife fucks niggers in her stinky pussy
Nice argument faggot
Focus on punish combos and anti airs. Stick to a few strong buttons in the neutral, and change your mindset from winning every game to improving in every game.
Holding multiple buttons (Zato) is pretty much impossible without remapping to triggers, but I agree with you for the most part.
Yet nobody has ever won so much as a FT5 in Zimbabwe with a hitbox or KB.
Doesn't work in any game worth a fuck.
GG has some exceptions. FDC and negative edge are still somewhat difficult on pad but not impossible. There are also other characters you can play to avoid that level of execution. I can't think of anyone in ST or 3s that are able to avoid it if they want to use all of their kit.
>It's no different than keyboard and mouse vs controller for fps games.
It's different. People have won Evo on pads. Show me where people have won a quake tournament with pads. The rift between sticks and pads in fighting games us measurably less then mouse/KB vs pad in fps.
Best NA Zato plays pad. It surprised me too.
I agree with you but
