How come no one's told me about Dino Crisis? It's basically Resident Evil 2, but with dinosaurs.

because capcom didn't tell anyone about it, and it didn't sell and then it died like everything else good or fun Capcom created before the mid 2000's.
Check out Extermination for PS2 or The Thing
No, it's resident evil 1 with dinosaurs. 2 is shit in comparison to dino crisis. It's literally the best example of the genre.
I wish there was more of dino crisis 2 but never ever
But is it good though?
yeah, the first one is
It's better, health is the most OP combat item in the game.
I've been putting this game off for too many years, I might play it on my PSP this weekend.
>The revolving floating item
Metal Gear?
DANGER
the first game was in full 3D and heavier on puzzle solving.
But they decided that they wanted to go more action-oriented for the sequel so they used fixed pre-rendered background in 2.
Basically the first game is more technically advanced then the second one. The 3rd is just trash (or so I am told)
you're supposed to be playing this in your childhood. anyway, excellent game, user. play dino crisis 2 as well..
what other capcoms games play like resident evil? Dino Crisis, Onimusha what else
this is just widescreen hack and upscaled resolution? it looks good
I dunno. I made a thread on /vr/.
The game is awesome; the last few nights I've beaten it 3 times in a row. I like how every single raptor, if you try to fight it, has the chance to do major damage. They are so spongey. Throw in more than one, and you got some panic moments. Especially as they go from room to room.
Only a few minor complaints. One is that most of the enemies are raptors. However, I like the improved aggressiveness and AI. Bleeding is also a great way to add a little tension.
Great game. Looking forward to the sequel but am sad it's not another survival horror.
I think Dino Crisis would be great if Capcom rebooted it with Resident Evil 4/Revelations style gameplay.
And add in a Raid/Time Attack mode.
yeah.
Emulating it through RetroArch
I miss the old PS1 tank control games with fixed perspectives. Something about the worlds were paced just right for good story telling and exploration. Something I don't think REmake got right.
Capcom confirmed a sequel?
Nigger because you are a child. Dino crisis, parsite eve and fear effect were my shit as a kid. Check out fear effect if you like RE or dino crisis
how's parasite eve?
I mean Dino Crisis 2 silly. It's a full-on action game.
Resident Evil 2 with dinosaurs and about half as good.
>capcom didn't tell anyone about it
Were you alive in the year 1999? Dino Crisis had tons of marketing and sold a couple million copies. It was briefly a big deal
>dat spoopy save room music
It's fantastic.
Not true. Both were really good. Kys
Well RE2 is a masterpiece, so half of that is still "great." Dino Crisis does its own thing and has a stronger emphasis on puzzles and avoiding dinosaurs.
Wellcome to Sup Forums. We assumed you knew. WE did.
If there are any other game recommendations you want just ask. We got a few dozen guide pics for every system, genre, year, and a few even by franchises.
The map layouts in the Capcom PS1-era tank-control games are ridiculously good. The right amount of tight corridors, open areas, interlocking rooms, etc. They got that shit down to a science.
The facility in Dino Crisis is broken up into a lot of great segments. About the only thing I can fault it with is being sorta samey, visually. There's nothing like Guardhouse, or the Police Station. But the cold and sterile facility is probably more "realistic" than a police station filled with gem puzzles and movable statues.
These maps are also good for speed running and optimal routes.
The tank controls with fixed perspective was always a good combo for me.
looked kewl and I played for a few weeks but eventually got stuck and forgot about it
It's still just sitting there, along with 2, in my ps3's hard drive
is there a genre for this type of music?
It's called ambient spooktunes
My fav. Dino Crisis 1 tracks are (outside of save room theme):

Too bad the worst ending is the coolest.
>END OF THE LINE FOR YOU, HANDSOME!
>YOU'RE EXTINCT!
It's a Resident Evil 2 RPG. Need I say more?
the /vr/ thread points out how the scenario writer for RE was the same for Parasite Eve (1 or 2). You can definitely see how the stories are similar beyond the "Square cashing in on the ResiEvil boom" angle.
you'll have a lot of fun listening to berlin school of electronic music
