ds3 was already very acessible

Dark Souls isn't fucking hard.

Yes, and I also think Finnegans Wake should be made more accessible so everyone can enjoy it.

Not all video games are meant for you. Making things accessible is an excuse to dumb things down because there are autists out there who can't handle the fact that they can't win games they buy.

How is accessibility even important in videogames

Accessibility at the expense of experience is not a good thing. Trying to cater to too broad an audience makes for a relatively generic experience because it's necessary to only incorporate mechanics that suit everyone's tastes. As an individual, it's only important that YOU enjoy the game, not anyone else. If you don't like a game, move to the next one that you do enjoy. This is why sub-genres in music exist.

Dark souls can be made more accessible by making the second half of the game not shit, that would probably be better than making it easy

Also I'd like to add that this argument doesn't even work in the context of Dark Souls, because it's considered 'inaccessible' despite being a wildly popular series with five entries in its series if you count Bloodborne.

>Pigeon
>I want easy mode because my fee fees
>Crow
>well constructed argument about why difficulty is a core part of DarkSouls and that anyone can succeed if they just keep trying
Which one is meant to be the strawman? The pigeon is dumb as shit but the crow is shouting in all caps

>more people
how? if you make the game so easy even the most braindead autist can reach its ending then doesn’t that remove the enjoyment of the people who want a challenging experience?

also the idea that difficulty can’t add to the intended experience and is simply a roadblock for people to get to the content is fundamentally wrong and anyone who espouses such an idea shouldn’t be taken seriously on the topic.

Only Dark Souls 1 is a tough bitch you need to learn to love.
After you learn to love her, she givr you loving handjobs as your stroll in the garden with her. DS1 is fucking incredible (I haven't got past undead parish, fuck my ass)

Dark Souls 3 is already a well made game, DS2 was shit for newcomers due to clunky moving. DS3 is a step up and in the right direction.

Fuck off mighty cunt fag

After all these years and my horrible first experience in Demon's Souls, I preordered Dark Souls on the Switch.

A guide would've been nice in the beginning for Demon's Souls. Although I'm giving it a blind shot again and see if it clicks.

Your wish is granted.

the weird thing is crows are more intelligent than whatever retarded bird that is so really the screeching crow is in the right

>the crow is completely right
What was the intended meaning of this picture?

It's accessibility that's the problem. Pacing, memes, the journey and reaching hte ending, hardcore/casual bullshit has nothing to do with it. Dark Souls is essentially an MMO. If there was a difficulty option, it would break the online component. People would get powerful weapons easier, and griefing would be even worse and less accessible in the long run.

No. Someone post the soyboy version

You aren't the only one, use a guide. If you go in blind after your first try, you'll be tempted to say you never liked it. Please use a guide before you throw 2 hours of your life away in hating a game.

(You)

Accessibility is the new diversity.

Don't be a retard, read all the messages at the start, and read what the menu icons are.

You don't need a guide for Dark Souls.

>I'M SILLY
casuals need to accept that not every game in the world needs to be accessible.
honestly, if you're not even willing to put enough effort into the game to git gud, there has to be something worthwhile going on in your life.

>Pigeon
nigga wat

>the crow is right but if we put his argument in ALLCAPS it makes it look wrong!
Game creators are allowed to make whatever fucking game they want. You don't have to play it and it's okay that not every game is marketed to you specifically.

Faggots just want to say they "play Dark Souls" because it's a cultural thing now. But they don't want to put in the time to practice or get good at the game through trial and hard work. It's not even supremely difficult like if they were trying to play at the highest level of beatmania iidx or something.

Casual faggots need to off themselves. Fucking dumb commie shitbags want every game to be so cookie cutter and safe.

It's just a variation of I AM SILLY
>pigeon

>crows are among the smartest of birds
So is the joke here that it's right?

BOOKS NEED TO BE MADE MORE ACCESSIBLE
SOME OF THEM HAVE BIG FANCY WORDS I DON'T UNDERSTAND, PLEASE DUMB IT DOWN FOR ME

You're basically saying imagine if the souls fanbase was even bigger. Terrifying.

>pigeon
LOOK AT THIS DUDE

What about audio books?

no you dunderfuck. accessibility is a moronic meme complaint used by game journalists to cover for their own vapid low effort existence

I still don't understand some of the words
I need a cliffnotes version that a four year old can understand

>series that has a large part of its identity based around the challenge it presents to player
>"UMMM no sweetie I should be able to play it because everything should cater to me but if you complain about my gay walking sims I'm going to call you entitled for expecting every game to cater to you"

cant defeat yhorm even i using stormbreaker... pls help...

Sure as long as it ends the this is the dark souls of its genre in every fucking game review

If your easiest mode can be enjoyed by everyone, it's too easy.

My problem with this argument is that it's always promoted by the same people that think games are art. It's like saying you abstract art is bad because it's too hard to understand. It's fine if a normal person feels that way, but an artfag really shouldn't.

No. It would turn out like Monster Hunter World, stripping it of everything that makes it unique and fun.

Games are games, not TV. Not books. If you lack the required skillset, you won't be able to play it. If you don't strive to do your best, you're not allowed to play it.

You don't play football by picking up the ball and casually strolling to the goal to accomodate people that dislike footwork. We have other games for that, like chess. Would you agree to a chess-board with nothing but rooks and the king? Because that's the same as making a hardcore game for casuals.

Maybe if they actually gave you a finished product, people would actually enjoy their game. Oh wait, the fact that the game is an unfinished piece of shit made it so popular.

Based crow BTFO soybird

Dark Souls already has an easy mode.

it already has an easy mode
it's called summoning

I think an understanding of a game's mechanics on its own terms should be a requirement if you're going to be able to affect public perception with your review.

Cheatingmind.

>Dark Souls easy mode
Black Knight weapons
Greatshields
>Dark Souls 3 easy mode
Straight Sword
>Bloodborne easy mode
Saws

Modern gamers aren't interested in being patient by learning a games mechanics as well as enemies movesets etc...
They just want to play through the mediocre story of one game and move onto the next thing.

no. beating the game feels good, because retards like you exist, that cant do it

Dark Souls is an extremely easy game.
There are several reasons for this:
>player and NPC summoning
this alone basically breaks most of the boss AI and allows you to attack with impunity
DS2 even featured smarter NPCs that would do things like cast heal on you.
>uncapped leveling
There is no limit to how much you can farm in Souls games. Eventually you can get to such a high level you trivialize the game.
DS2 took it to the point where you can depopulate your game without champ covenant.
>trivial healing
many ways to break healing

3 also added permanent i-frames.

This issue stems from the fact that the average modern video game literally causes brain damage.
clinical-innovation.com/topics/clinical-practice/playing-video-games-reduces-grey-matter-hippocampus

the crow is shouting because this is the 50th time he's heard this kind of bird brained argument so he can't help from ranting and raven

No.

To be frank, if I actually thought it could be done than I would't mind an easy mode. But that's not possible. If the progression is either easy or normal, than people who are secretly casual will say that "normal" is too hard and that the base game should be hard and normal should be easy. And when easy becomes the new normal, guess what? The game is invariably going to get balanced around that; and the game becomes this easy pile of shit for braindead tards while hard mode transforms into tacked on bullshit that is out of whack with the mechanics hashed out for normal. No thanks.

>ranting and raven

...

>perfectly fine arguments, not obviously worse than the ones of the little bird
>hur hur the crow is wrong because he looks loud and silly!

>Picture has crow actually presenting an argument

People can beat Dark Souls with their ass.
The only reason people get frustrated is because you can actually lose something valuable when you fuckup. Contrary to something like Mario where you only lose an extra life.

>completely misunderstanding the picture
Truly the left can't meme.

No. Some games should just be harder and more challenging than others. You don't buy a game like Dark Souls expecting an easy game. The trailers even emphasize you dying over and over again.

The best comparison I can think of is ski resorts. If you're only good enough for a green circle or blue square slope, stay on those slopes. They don't need to make the black diamond slopes easier for those people. Dark Souls is basically just a more difficult Legend of Zelda game. If you can't beat Dark Souls, play Legend of Zelda. It's a fantastic series.

Ok, watch this:

>Difficulty is not discrimination

...but the community discriminates.

>Games are sold to the largest market possible

...but buying a game doesn't entitle you to finish it.

Case: I choose to participate in an eating challenge, knowing the stakes.

I have paid for the food to be made, however if i can't eat it, I acknowledge the stakes and pay for the food.

If I don't pay, or the waiter is an asshole about it after I pay, then we are at fault in either instance.

We done?

Wait, what's wrong with games having an easy mode?

Nothing.
Just as there's nothing wrong with games not having an easy mode if the developer decides so.

kékek

Does Mario have an easy mode? Seriously, the only thing I remember is in of the games when you die too much you can get a hint on how to do the level.

In 3D World if you died too many times you get an invincibility item at the beginning of the level

Man, I've beaten Dark Souls. I don't think I've ever beaten a Mario game except for like Paper Mario

If you don't want to play the game the way the developers intended, go watch a lets play. You'd get the same experience as lowering the difficulty.

Nothing, in some games.
Dark Souls is about overcoming challenges. Short of reworking all enemy AI and movesets and stuff, there is no way to make dark souls easier while keeping it balanced for a worse player.
Making bosses die in 4 hits or making the player stupidly strong just ruins the gameplay and you' be better off watching a proper run on youtube.

it makes the game easy

you're going to catch shit because """FOOD ANALOGY"""" even though it's easily understandable and relevant.

I forgot, you're still a reddit-spacing faggot though.

Why does this series have a following I will never know. Same goes for MGS. Fucking gooks do everything backwards.

...

No because cuck souls is garbage

>Action video games designed without in-game GPS, or [without] wayfinding routes overlaid on the game's display for the player to follow, could better encourage spatial learning during action video game playing."
damn

You can beat 95% of every game without equipping a weapon or pressing a single button by just summoning a squad of phantoms to r1 everything to death for you, including every single boss but the tutorial ones where you aren't allowed to summon yet

All i herd was bla bla bla i like being cuck bla bla bla

Text deserves to look nice.

What do you find enjoyable then?

this is literally just I AM SILLY but drawn better, swap the dialogue over so the little fat shit is making the point about dark souls needing to be hard and some loudmouth casual bleating for an easy mode and you get a totally different message

Not everything needs to be for everyone.
You don't need to enjoy dark souls. Stop trying to ruin it for the people who do enjoy it.

Imagine Party Babyz

Based on the fact that crows are smart as fuck and whatever bird that is is probably dumb as fuck, probably the fat little shit.
What kind of bird is that anyways?

the original is just a joke about crows being loud

im a fucking shitter and dark souls isn't really hard

it's nothing like old games, which are actually hard

this generation is just fucking shit

OK then...

And then retards put their real world logic into it by saying "ACTUALLY CROWS ARE SMART".

Completely missing the point of the joke.

I love how every time an edit of that comic is posted, someone has to point that out.

Almost as if, the joke is going over their heads.

>Overleveling
>Summoning
>3 dedicated wikis with a plethora of information available
It's pretty accessible already m8

Is that retards would rather look at the pretty birdy and hear it sing than forge an allience with crow bros?
Or is it that the truth is loud, obnoxious, offensive, and superior?

You can be smart and still be a huge asshole

>EVERYONE SHOULD LEARN THE GAME
No. People who care and are motivated to should learn the game. There are hundreds of thousands of videogames in the world, if you don't want to play this one you have plenty of alternatives. Shit you don't have to play videogames at ALL. These motherfuckers act like Dark Souls is gonna come up in a college entrance exam or something.

>pigeon
OH NO NO NO

>game where you just have to lock on and strafe to kill everything ez
>not acesssible

this is what soulsfags actually believe

Why don't they just play a game that they don't suck ass at? There's plenty of games out there that I suck at, so I just play something else I enjoy.

That was just voices in your head.

If you think that DS should be more accessible than it means this game is not for you

Ok, watch this:
>Green text already contrasts with the regular text, you don't need any spaces for clarity or emphasis
they create little walls or barriers around your text so it pops
>2nd green text point
there's no way for any user to get confused unless they're fucking blind

Case: This is a paragraph expressing one coherent idea.
I can throw a space before it because I want to separate the paragraph from the 2nd green text point, and also new line after the statement of the case to ensure clarity on exactly what the case is. I don't need to space to draw attention to every individual line, because I don't need to worry about dividing different subjects. Readers should be able to follow coherently.

Posting in this manner creates much more aesthetic, compact posts. Posts that don't utilize the flow of format and ideas - whether blocky walls or new lines for every sentence - take up a fuck ton of space, are unattractive to read, and generally provoke memes like "tl;dr" or "leddit spacing"

Sup Forums is a slave to the Big Black Crow. Think about it.
