It feels like it's missing G-Rank, I got to used to it to enjoy vanilla MH games, even though MH World looks fun.

OP here, I have trouble with the concept of hit confirming in fighting games. I always feel like my reaction time is too slow to properly follow a hit confirm with a combo of my choice. In all fighting games.
im almost only playing ranked online, i've only played a couple hours of story mode
my biggest gripe with the game is how it has a tendency to disconnect me for no good reason in the middle of a match. not constantly, but about once a session
otherwise it's great. i've settled into a place in matchmaking where i'm consistently either winning or closely losing (mostly the latter) instead of being completely bodied all the time like with other games

G-Rank doesn't matter at all. A lot of Monster Hunter games do not have it and a Monster Hunter with enough content in High Rank is more than enough. G-Rank is actually kind of stupid because it just makes high rank completely worthless, all you do is just blast through it to get to G-Rank faster.
You have to train your reaction to that move hitting. You have to play very actively. It's not your inherent reaction time that is wrong, it is that you are not "preparing" your reaction in advance. Just set the dumby to block randomly, pay close attention, and when it hits do one thing and if it blocks, do another. Plus, a lot of fighting games isn't hit confirms, it's just punishing things that are unsafe.

The only MH games I played were 3U and 4U. I hated the underwater fights in MH3U and enjoyed 4U a bit, but got bored. Will I like MH World?
