I just got to the lost river at ~15 hours
I got to say this game is boring
bye
You're not gonna build a base at the meme tree like the rest of us?
Is there a better way to measure horizontal distance between two points than just dropping a beacon at your start point?
I got ditched in my PRAWN suit way the hell away from my main base with all my stuff, but now it feels end-game as fuck grappling around my old stomping grounds
If you hit F1 and look at Camera position you can accurately measure your coordinates
Has anybody made a detection grid, aka surveyor stations that can cover the entire map?
>exploring Aurora for the second time, this time fully equipped
>suddnely fall through the floor
>can't get out of the walls
What do?
Save and risk ruining my playthrough or just wasting 5 hours of progress?
There is probably a no clip mod in the console don't you think?
I got stuck under the floor in my fucking prawn suit a while ago
Save game, use dev console, save again, quit game and reload to keep achievements going
F1 will give you your current coordinates then you can use the warp command to nudge your altitude a bit higher
>Couldn't give less of a shit about dooks, reapers, sea dragons, or any other aggressive fauna
>But ghost leviathans and the void make me anxious
I've been in and out of the dead zone while building but jumping into the nothingness still gives me the spooks
Use the console commands
Press F3
type: warpme
I wish I knew this when I deleted the door from my scanner room by accident while inside.
>muffled screech in the distance
The best way to face your fear is to jump into the nothingness.
Do you want the fauxhawk on or off?
>It is prudent to your survival to minimize excessive hair growths.
Too bad.
Why though? To catch a jar of plankton? There's nothing out there
You can't know if you don't jump.
I did once and it was terrible
Should've built an outpost to look out at the terribleness until it was no longer terrible.
>it is your primary directive to swim closer
noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooope
>roaming around in prawn suit
>lost on sea trader's path while looking for grand reef
>try just going up
>can't because sea trader's path goes UNDERGROUND
>"fuck it, i'll go down then"
>leap off nearby cliff
>200m...
>300m...
>400m...
>500m....
>FUCK FUCK NO STOP NU-UH
and then I spent 5 minutes grappling back up even though my max depth is 1700m....
Couldnt you deconstruct it?
I wouldn't build a luxury condominium in a shantytown to appreciate the shitty poverty stricken populace, and likewise I wouldn't build a base in the Dead Zone to appreciate the endless darkness and screaming Leviathans
It was stuck on 99 percent. Couldn't do anything to it. It was literally the first structure I had made. I piece, hatch and scanner room. Suffocated.

>just finished the game for a 3rd time
>threads are starting to slow down a bit
>no news on any mod projects
it was a fun ride. See you guys when the expansion drops
Haha oh wow. Im sorry for you.
I lost my first save, which I was saving to continue when they released 1.0. So i cheated my way this playthrough up until the point where I last was. I played the game but gave myself resources whenever I needed it.
I thought the game didn't support modding? Can you still do it even if it doesn't?
How do I get to the lost river?
Am I blind?
I honestly feel like this is what the Aurora might have been like before the crash. I mean, there was a whole thing about a lesbian going straight for promises of robot sex.
Cool fucking teleporters ayys, thanks for the broken wrist.
>Only way out of the Emperor's tank leads to Reaper infested waters
Who the fuck thought this was a good idea?
It's right where you need to be for the next part in the story. If you really don't want to be there there's like 5 other teleporters.
First time I explored STP in the cyclops (sans sonar) I also didn't realize that stretches of the path turn into tunnels and its hard to notice if you aren't expressly paying attention. Panicked a bit trying to find my way back out.
It's deep. Explore the deepest parts you have access to, they connect to it.
Those aren't reaper infested, though. The west side of the island is fine.
>First time you leave is to get the baby juice plants from the Koosh Zone
those 5 other teleporters lead you within spitting distance of each plant. Go fabricate the plants, get enzyme, use aquarium teleporter to turn off gun immediately.
If you think they're pushovers try doing some sea dragon rodeo. The one in the ILZ throws you all over the place and its real fun
i've seen screenshots of the cyclops in so many of these threads but to actually have myself now; screen shots don't do it justice its fucking enormous. i feel like i dont even need a stationary base anymore.
he straight up punches you off, i hate that guy
does he have the largest moveset of all the leviathans?
I just met a mesmer. Was nice.
I met one yesterday.
Not as bad as I expected.
>t. mesmer
I must have got lucky then. I grappled him from behind when he was swimming under me and he just kept circling trying to bite me while giving me more and more momentum. I was going the fastest I think i've been until I got bored and tried to drill him. Then yeah like you said he punched me away and I swung my way home with my tail between my legs
So where are the most popular locations for major bases?
Safe shallows near the thermals, meme tree, grand reef near the degasi base, ILZ for people who hate fun.
Also heard of folks building on the floating or mountain islands
I'd say of any predator, period. Not to mention he's the only predator beside the Lava Lizards and the Warpers to have a ranged attack, and no, the Dook wave doesn't count
What are some non mainstream bases?
wtf is this meme tree
>Finally made it back to jeeves and the yellow submarine after being fucked off to nowhere
PHEW
Meme tree in Lost River for thermal and access to lava, Shallows for centralized access, sun, and safety, Shroom cave because it's extremely comfy
Try grappling near his arms and see what happens
bases in the abyss, bases in the sky
The Ghost Tree in the Lost River.
It's where the Ghost Leviathans are born
pls donut bully dook
Not my fault the Dooks are too stupid to channel their EMPs into a directed bolt. Maybe then they'd do more than knock my instruments out for four seconds
Self scan says "infected" please tell me this isn't awful. I don't have any schematics for anything medical yet.
I'm scared. I took my prawn suit into lost river beneath grand reef for the first time. Those ghost rays are pretty. But I'm afraid of something bigger. Can I survive a leviathan attack in this mech?
I have the reinforced suit, would it be easier to just face beasts head on with the stasis rifle and thermoblade?
>attacks you at range
>doesn't count as a ranged attack for some reason
It only works in close quarters on a 2D plane, so no, I don't think it's a ranged attack
Since when do ranged attacks need either of those to be considered ranged attacks?
>It is your primary directive to open up that beautiful post... Get closer... Get closer now...
>it looks so friendly
u ded
restart
You dead son, I'll say something nice at your funeral.
>make some comfy farms inside and out
>get enough mushrooms and gel to unlock the prawn suit and drill
Damn that was a big leap in supplies, I need to build like a dozen more lockers.
I keep getting the bubbling/steaming particles not going away after holding the thermoblade. Have to save and reload every time it happens.
Do flood lights not actually light up?
The only thing I really enjoy doing in this game is autistically building bases. Why is there no more cool roomy shit to build? I want bigger areas.
It's my birthday, I need the gift of advice. How do I get past the big baddies in LR? Seamoth seems like a magnet
Try to avoid spoilers, this game won't fuck you permanently (other than glitches).
They have to be close enough to the base or a power source/relay. You also actually have to have power running. During placement, red means can't place, yellow means no power, green means can be placed and will be powered. Look for the ugly glowing blue line.
electro and batteries get me away from 99% of everything
>want to do hardcore
>no oxygen alerts
fucking why
It goes steamy when you're on the islands, but bubbly when in an underwater base
...
With the seamoth, there's always the perimeter fuck-off module. With the cyclops, just go slowly/use silent running. With the prawn you can't really avoid fighting them if they notice you, but its ok because the prawn is easily the best equipped for fighting them.
By using the prawn with grappling hook, drill arm, and jump jet.
>They have to be close enough to the base
I would have thought this to be close enough.
Did they fix the thing that made being tossed by a Dragon makes the PRAWN land on its side?
>Water filter creates water bottles that heal FIFTY thirst
Do prawn jump jets stack? I read that they did, then they stopped stacking, now I dunno
What breaks the progression of achievements?
I used console because my Seamoth got built on land, couldn't move it. I had to /dig to get it into the water.
>Mesmer
>Assessment: Draw closer
How much power is stored in the based currently? When you place it, is it glowing yellow or green?
I'm stealing this image, nerd
You could have used the propulsion cannon.
>its protective outer shell in order to [ERROR463] share its beauty... Do not resist...
>Hatchling
>pushover
No shit
Try to dive in the Dead Zone
I was exploring some cave system with the Seamoth before deciding to turn back, but I can't get out because a fucking ampeel has somehow managed to teleport into the cave and get stuck in the only way out. It just sits there, watching me.
Guess I'll take the upgrades, try to squeeze past and build a new Seamoth if I can get back home.
>run into yourself with your own seamoth
Does anyone else change the timescale? Every time I load a game I change daynightspeed to 0.2. Day/night cycles last longer, fabrication takes longer, hunger/thirst decrease slower... it feels better all around
More than enough power, 800+
I can't actually tell which color it was. But I fixed it, not ideal but it should do the job.
How long does it take for the radiation to become harmless after you fixed the drive core?
3 days
Three dace, effendi.
So what is this, some sort of crafting survival game.
Yes, but this time without zombies. Unfortunate, I know.
>it also generates salt to make your food last longer
best building
No, it's a survivaling craft game
Hope we can mod the characters appearance at some point
Excuse you
