Why do third-parties hate Nintendo?
Why do third-parties hate Nintendo?
Their games always bomb on Nintendo platforms because Nintendo gamers gave a better breed of games to choose from.
The Nintendo audience only buys E-rated kiddy games.
Only Nintendo games sell well on Nintendo consoles now.
Look at Monster Hunter. Sold 5 million in just three days the moment it ditched Nintendo.

OP, fix your mental illness
we don't want aaa-trash, better have few quality games with 90+ on metacritic
Well besides switch not being able to run them a lot these games were probably in development before anyone know what the switch was and not expecting the switch to do this well.
Untrue, they bought 9 million copies of 12+ SMO and 7.5 million copies of BotW, also rated 12+.
>5 million on 2 platforms when it sold 3 million opening weekend on 3DS in Japan alone
Really makes me think it's because they casualised it for the West while the Nips dropped out of the franchise.
Most 3rd party devs work on graphically intensive games with only the newest and current best tech in mind. They put more focus on making the games look good rather than most Nintendo games where they focus on gameplay, then how well the game looks. This is why you see a lot of older but well loved ports to the Switch.
If you want the best graphics: PC
If you want shooters: Xbone
If you want Weeb and story driven games: PS4
If you want gameplay, party, and Sit down and play an hour games: Switch.
It's mainly because the "no Mario / Zelda / Pikachu / Nintendo's Seal of Quality, no buy" mentality, which is deeply ingrained in the tiny, underdeveloped brains of drones.
That's why games like SMT struggle to hit 100K units while shovelwares with Nintendo's Seal of Quality like 1-2-Switch and ARMS easily pass 1.5M units.
And then it sold like shit in the west because westerners were smart enough to skip a piece of shit 240p handheld for kiddies.
SMT isn't a big name in Mainstream America.
Only people you'll find that know of it are people in anime communities or word of mouth(E-celebs talking about them, memes, or friends).
Nintendo tax.
Lack of people owning the console, Nintendo not moving with the times. Underpowered console
Idiot. 92% of the sales belong to Japan.
>m
why are so many spammers phoneposters? is it because they can evade bans easily?
Nintendo audience only buys the soy-verified E-rated Nintendo games for kds.
...
I don't think anyone wants to play any of those games in a realistic sense besides a small percentage of younglings who want Hearthstone, Most people would want RDR2 on PC anyways.
The rest of those games are shit.
fpbp its hard for rival devs to standout amongst those 10/10 GOTY classics. Nintenbros have higher standards.
I wonder how shovelware like Arms and 1 2 Switch would sell on a platform with actual games.
>no, persona 5 is not coming to [...] PC - for real this time
HOW COULD THE FUCKING LIE TO US REEEE
pcgamer.com
S-SURELY THEY'RE JOKING, RIGHT GUYS? FUCKING HOLD ME BROS, I'M SHAKING
Why not Nintendo? Why do third-parties hate Nintendo so much?
>an audience buying rehashed Mario and Mario Kart for the 22th time is too smart to buy third-party games
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH
To be fair, it would have sold even more if it was on everything. It's not like the Nips who already had a Switch wouldn't buy it. Could say the same for the burgers too. Shit, I'd double dip if they could somehow get it working.
"No, blah blah..."
"Blah blah, and that's a good thing."
"Blaaah, and that's ok."
FUCK OFF with these shitty bait headlines that would be embarrassing to read even in a high school newspaper
Because Nintendo's licensing policies are draconian and it doesn't make fiscal sense to develop a handicapped version of a game for a weaker platform when you can just ship one version to 3 platforms without modifying almost anything. That's literally why. No Nintendo hate, no corporate rivalries, literally just no reason to develop for Nintendo platforms from a purely economic standpoint.
Well, yeah. Why would anyone buy garbage like Assassin's Creed 50 or Overwatch when they could play a game based on a magnificent formula perfected over years of crafting?
The fact that Nintendo games are still so unbelievably popular attests to that.
>Poor online infrastructure
>Below average hardware
>Cart size restrictions on third parties
Any current game that demands more of the above won't be playable on switch
I think it's less
>Nintendo's licensing policies are draconian
And more
>it doesn't make fiscal sense to develop a handicapped version of a game for a weaker platform
And for crying out loud, even PC games sell better than switch games, and PC is a platform many publishers ignore because of its low sales numbers.
>Rehashes
lmao
91.24% actually.
HUA HUA YEAH THOSE REHASHED CODS AND SOULS GAMES ARE MUCH BETTER AMIRITE?
Persona 5 runs on the PS3 without being "handicapped".
>SOULS GAMES ARE MUCH BETTER AMIRITE?
Yes.
no, souls games were never good, shitty combat
theres like two good games in that image
But then Hearthstone would do great on the Switch.
Git gud casul
>If you want shooters: Xbone
PC?
Nintenbabby in charge of talking combat
the only third party game I want ported to the Switch is the little witch academia one
Draconian rules
Shit hardware
No sales
Tbh I would only like Persona to come to the Switch. The rest is shit.
thats funny because dark souls combat is literally a OoT ripoff
>If you want shooters:Xbone
You don't actually think this, right? Jesus.
They would sell more than the million+ both those games actually sold?
3rd parties hate nintendo because if they shit out the same trash on nintendo as on sony/xbox then they got no sales because nintendo produces great games. Trash games like Battlefront have no real competition on PS so it get the sale from low iq sonybros/xbots. Also helps that both of these are infested by MATURE (teen) who are happy buying cod year after year
Christ
Battlefront 2 is a better TPS than Splatoon. Fite me toddler.
>Well optimized but old and obsolete as fuck hardware
>Leaky economic department, can't keep a good deal since the gamecube era
>Either too picky or too cancerously begging playerbase
Gee, i wonder...
Yes my son?
All these headlines were published way before the industry knew the Switch was going to be a breakout success. Barring a few publishers, most on this list have probably changed their tune by now.
I will never buy a Switch.
Thank you Sup Forums
Because Bing bing wahoo games are better their shitty AAA titles.
Shipped =/= sold. Sonyfags are trying to push this hard.
The actual issue without the fanboy dick sucking, is that predominately nintendo fans only buy nintendo first party products. Need proof of this claim. Look at where people are saying the Switch will become a huge No.1 best console sales of all time. I'm talking about Pokemon. When it releases on Switch sales are without a doubt going to blow up and this is great for Nintendo and the Pokemon Company. But its shit for the 3rd parties. Not out of a competitive sense but the fact that this is the focus of those that like Nintendo. Of course this could shift and the first real view of this will be when Gal Gun 2 drops later this quarter. Those sales will tell us if Nintendo fans have changed their tone or not. Same with VC4. If all Nintendo fans buy are 1st party games third parties will be wasting time and money porting their games to the system. Remember that even Sony's exclusives pale in comparison to the console ownership market of their systems.
>tl;dr - We won't know if 3rd parties have changed their tone completely yet. At least in Japan we'll know when GG2 and VC4 have released and seen what sales numbers they get in comparison to their PS4 couterparts. Of course Nintendo will sell masses of consoles with pokemon on it but remember that means shit all to anyone who isn't Nintendo or Pokemon Company. Nintendo fans if they want strong 3rd party need to buy the games and not just get Nintendo first party games.
>even PC games sell better than switch games
That's not true though. Xenoverse 2 sold more on Switch than on PC.
Nintendo has a history of treating third party devs like shit.
Because their hardware is 1-2 generation behind others.
But hey, at least you have cardboard.
sure, that's the reason now because nintendo was successfully pigeonholed into a market space where it's no longer feasible for them to do what the rest of the industry is doing
that circumstance is the result of a collective effort by the industry to run nintendo off the rails because of how much they hated nintendo's bullshit.
this goes all the way back to the NES days, and the only reason why the genesis succeeded was because third parties like namco decided to throw their weight behind anyone who would chip away at nintendo's market share. in the end it was sony that would eventually dethrone nintendo but it was an effort that preceded sony's entrance
and of course, sony themselves entered the hardware business to fuck with nintendo after they submarined the joint SNES CD project
Nobody seems to give a shit in actual games. 2018 is a desert wasteland for Switch.
>If you want shooters: Xbone
are you really that stupid?
Sold out on Amazon while topping every chart in the world.
Stay mad toddler ;)
Little BITCH Acadamia
Man, the PS1 looked incredible for its time.
1. Third parties have no hope of competing against Nintendo IP.
2. Nintendo make them look bad by being reluctant to jump on the skinner box gravy train.
3. They're still pissed off with how strict Nintendo was during the 80's and 90's, and don't want them to be as powerful ever again.
surprised blizz don't want to release hearthstone on switch, can't imagine porting would be too hard considering they went to the trouble to get mobile/tablet versions and it would be like printing money
Because of their draconian business practices from the 80 and 90s
Only toys get released on the Switch. No wonder there are no Video games.
Video games and toys are a diffrent market.
You might want to look at the lineup again. And I don’t know why people keep forgetting that the year just started. We still have plently of Directs and E3 to get through before 2018 can be called a “wasteland.”
You need to gain permission from Nintendo to even begin developing Unity games for the Switch, which is why Yooka Laylee took so long.
I did. Literally nothing but Wii U ports and $80 cardboards. Nintendo was hoping for third-parties to carry this year but they give no fucks.
D E F E N D
T H I S
Because unlike Sony and Microsoft the first party Nintendo games actually exist to be played rather than look good in PR
except when it was in motion lel
Yes third-parties are intentionally making their games flop on Nintendo bravo!
Other than Hearthstone and South Park, why would you want any of those on a Switch? Either get them on a PS4 or PC.
Nintendo invests heavily in their 1st party titles it kinda creates a conflict of interest where third parties always have to play the "away game" on Nintendo platforms against Nintendo games with many advantages. Sony also backs their own titles but seems to promote a much leveler playing field, knowing a huge library sells their console. And MS does jack shit first party games.
Do you remember how people said 2017 looked bleak for Switch outside of Zelda and Mario? Remember how that turned out to be wrong? Slow up, the year just started.
And are you reqlly complaining about Wii U ports when I was told by Sup Forums that no one bought the Wii U?
>Expecting to know every game Nintendo are bringing out this year
>It's fucking February 2nd
Next you'll be saying that Sony are expecting SotC and Monster Hunter to carry them through all of 2018 too.
Wii had a barely functioning online system not suitable for call of duty 4
They literally are. See: Wii U getting Mass Effect 3 while at the same time and at a lower price the other platforms got Mass Effect Trilogy.
Third parties deliberatley sabotage their games on Nintendo because they are afraid of a strong Nintendo. Those Wii (U) ports only existed as a tokenistic gestures to shareholders who were wondering where the Nintendo ports were.
>31st December, 1899
Pic related explains why Wii got so much shovelware.
0.24m on Switch
0.46m on PC
yay
D-delet... this you-ffff fucking STOP
They probably switched up the dates. That must have been the Nintendo version.
>Nintendo releases a piss of shit hardware that is 4 generations behind the industry standard
>people wonder why no one wants to make games for their piss of shit toddler toy
>rinse repeat since Wii days
You must be too young to remember how they used to be with third party devs. Also, the people who buy Nintendo consoles don’t really buy third party games. REmake of all things kind of missed Capcom’s expectations hard on the gamecube, and they had to wrestle RE4 away from exclusivity once they realised what they fucking had.
fbpb
I know people here hate nintendo but it is true.
Nintendo has better games to choose from, so you end up buying their superior games, while on a platform with no games you buy everything they throw at you because you are too hungry for games to say no.
It is too easy to dismiss it with "but kiddie shit!", because it would not explain how it sistematically works every time.
Third-parties hate Nintendo. Sony was their way out back in '94 and they haven't looked back since. Nintendo always regarded third-parties as competition whereas Sony embraced them as partners to build up a great library.
>draconian
Ok faggots, from which meme youtuber are you parroting this time?
Explain to me how there despite being ZERO Nintendo heavy hitters in 2018 third-party support remains anemic and resembling of Wii U era? Hell actually Wii U had a slightly better 3rd party support.
the bigger question is why does nintendo go trough such lengts to criple Third party devs when they want to make something for a nintendo console.
It has been like this for generations now.
And yet COD4 still got a port to Wii with working online.
>No Mass Effect: Andromeda for the Switch
Ooo, I’d hate to be a nintenfag right about now
To be fair, Kimishima inherited Iwata’s blue ocean strategy with the NX project. Hence, from Iwata’s arrival until today, we’ve been having nothing but gimmick consoles. I wonder if next generation will be radically different under him.
