Try attacking.
Try parrying.
He was the hardest vanilla game boss for me
Not including chalices?
What build are you using?
Strength mostly and I've been using nothing but the hunters axe and blunderbuss
parry
also make sure you stop him from using the shield that deflects bullets when hes at half health
Firearms alone won’t do much and the blunderbuss recoil will hurt you more than help. Try getting down the parries with the hunter pistol, you hound do some decent damage since your running str
Go grab the Saw Hunter Badge and buy the Pistol. You can shoot the sword he plants in the ground and it will cancel his flying ghost swords attack.
> not gascoigne
I wasn't autistic enough to do the chalices. Shit was boring as fuck
I love fighting this guy. Best non DLC boss easily. I wish Cainhurst was bigger and that Vileblood queen had more content. It was all barebones.
Just dodge to his left and keep on him, when he begins to power up backstab him to cancel out his next stage. Shoot sword when he plants it.
Cainhurst was garbage, totally out of tone with the rest of the game.
How is a decadent gothic vampire castle out of tone in a decadent gothic horror game?
Just parry him and stay aggressive, super easy that way, takes like 6 parries to kill him, didn't lose one health to him and he never managed to get to his second phase even
What the fuck, you can dominate the shit out of Gascoigne even without music box cheese if you don't play like a braindead moron.
If we're talking era the game isnt particularly gothic, its more victorian whereas the castle is. That said vampires do fit into the genre, but not into the specific world and more jarring are the ghosts and bat people.
No other boss gave more grief, none of the chalice bosses. Relative to location in the game he is the hardest.
I meant "gothic horror" as in literary sensibility, not the era. I would understand it would feel weird to see the ghosts and the bat people around Yharnam, but I think the game manages to fit it quite well using the whole thing as a extra, separated bonus level.
>how do I beat boss x
Tonitrus
True, i also appreciate more game especially when it's not exactly in your way. It's just my least favourite part, on par with the chalices.
Might as well use ludwigs if you are doing a Strength and Arcane build.
literally killed him on my first try.
Use charged R2 when he is going into his second phase.
Probably levelled to 50 vit, summoned 2 players and had a youtube guide open on the side.
Git gud.
nope, didn't even upgrade my saw. you just need to accept that you're shit and git gud.
At least we had a true vileblood boss in the form of Lady Maria
Had no issue with any defiled bosses. I will correct myself though and say i had more trouble with the abhorrent beast and arcane cheesed him both times.
Shoot the sword he stabs into the ground with your pistol, You can lock onto it aswell.
You get a free backstab with quick weapons when he does his big divebomb attack.
You cant parry him if he's covered in his wind aura.
The general strategy is keep yourself behind him and hit him.
oh man i hated that guy so fucking much. he was my number 1 most hated until FUCKING LAWRENCE
i actually made a youtube video with some tips that helped me youtube.com
His second form with the 2handed axe is definitely a newbie crusher.
Also he has alot of chase and dodging AWAY from him is just basic reactions even if it gets you hit.
I still do the same shit on reaction in new playthroughs.
I found i would get wrecked the second he became a beast, but before that he was easy enough. He punishes you if you dodge backwards or cant parry. Coming to a soulsborne game for the first time made him a near insurmountable fight
Easy as shit. Parry and dodge his gay skulls. I'm replaying this game right now and out of all the bosses I got cleric beast, logarius and celestial emissary first try. If you think logarius is hard you're gonna have a bad time with the dlc.
