Final boss is hard as fuck

>Final boss is hard as fuck
>Use all of my items
>Finally beat it
>There's still a real final boss after it that's harder

>Use all of my items
>It was a boss fight you were supposed to lose

>boss you’re supposed to lose to
>boss curses you before you die

>have huge variety of magic spells that could give the game some depth
>lolno 90% of enemies are immune to that for some unexplained reason
>continue to mindless spam attack, offensive spells and heal
>continue for 9000+ hours

JRPGs are fucking garbage

>buy super expensive sword
>a better one drops 20 minutes later
>sell sword for 10% of its cost

>Enemy has I-frames during attack

>fight powerful boss
>he joins your team as a playable character
>he's now weaker than characters you didn't even level up

>Spend 15 minutes fighting a boss encounter you weren't expecting.
>Manage to win through skill and sheer will power.
>Cutscene, The Boss kicks your ass and goes "Nothing personal kid.".

this is the absolute worst

>Game introduces "Awesome!" and "Rare!" high dollar armor, found only in this certain area.
>"I'll come back later after I saved enough!".
>Story calls for the area to be destroyed and not accessible afterwards.
or
>Buy the item on second playthrough, it's worst than the free armor you got from the previous boss battle, and looks awful on your character.

>thin lady in nothing but robes for "armour"
>can stagger her til the cows come home
>the moment she lifts her weapon even an inch her nanomachines kick in making her an unflinching monster

Something similar but.

>RPG games.
>Get used to the Final Fantasy effect.
Which is, all these cool as fuck spells that I can use, have no use what so ever because LOL IMMUNE TO EVERYTHING!
>Ok....
>As an adult, get into Shin Megami Tensei.
>The bullshit that was these games is still in full swing.
>Decide to give it a shot.
>Statues effect spells ACTUALLY FUCKING DO THEIR JOB!
>Holy shit its great being able to use my MP and not just spam attack cause the games fucking dumb.

During FF7 I got so pissed at one point that my regular attack was dealing more damage then these ultimate spells that I just buffed out my physical attacks until they did in everything.

I absolutely hate this.

Etrian Odyssey is also good about making status effects actually worthwhile for your characters instead of just annoying shit enemies throw at you

>Hyped-up boss fight turns out to be piss easy

>Start game.
>Opening cutscene and Tutorial takes 30 minutes-1 hour to finish.
>Finally get to play the game.
>Unskippable cutscene of "character development".
>Get to play the game again, Cutscene, repeat 90 times.
>Finally get to a point of actual gameplay, it's the finale of the game.

>boss stops taking damage until you kill the mooks he summons

Please stop doing this

>game has a unskipable tutorial at the beginning.
>Just by divine grace given to me for playing games all my life I fully understand the games stupid ass mechanics.
>I cant half ass the tutorial, I must do it perfectly.
>Perform a "x" 4 times to proceed.
>Spend nearly an hour doing this.
>By the time I am finished I turn it off because I have lost interest in playing and eventually lose interest fully.

>game lets you get 50% critical chance
>each of the critical hits can be upgraded to instakill
>alternatively can get some absurd sneak attack damage
>just kidding 90% of enemies are immune to that for some unexplained reason

>RPG, 50 hours in.
>Goes through the game leveling up a stat that seems important or useful.
>"Hey man, that stat is busted and doesn't actually work, you wasted all those points."

>boss stops taking damage until you kill the mooks he summons
>stops being invincible for 5 seconds at most before summoning another mook

>Boss does a move where you can't damage him
>Takes the longest possible time before returning to where you can damage him
>Immediately does the same move again

>Suffer through near endless cutscenes and manage to play the game.
>Beat a enemy, Level up!
>The skill tree/lists as more boxes than blades of grass in your lawn, most are clones with superficial numbers or element damage, and skill point wasters.
