Your missing the point. Megamanfags don't want more side scrolled games. They want capcom to finally shape him up to be as big as Mario or Sonic as a video mascot and explore more things you can do with the universe

To do that, they would actually have to announce the revival of more than just the classic Megaman formula (BUT IN THREE-DEEE). Classic had already gotten a game before the sudden silence, as well as getting into Smash, while Star Force was the only other MM that had gotten some attention before the silence. 8 years, and all the have to show for is a side scroller that will take ANOTHER year to actually be finished? That announcement and anniversary was just done in poor taste.

capcom dropped the ball hard midway through the ps360 era due to inafune being an incompetent shit but now that they've dropped him they're at least on the way up. monster hunter is bigger than ever, mega man 11 will easily make its money back off of nostalgia alone, itsuno is likely working on dmc5. they're not going anywhere
