Correct. You can definitely avoid most of them. The few you need to knife is due to having to come back to the area, and the mandatory crimson head boss. You got to know his pattern well. Carcinogen has a good turtorial on that one.

If you happen to have a save around them I would practice knifing the Crimson Head and Yawn. Those two were the biggest problems for me since I didn't know their patterns well. They're too easy to nuke in a few seconds in a normal run to really get a handle on their AI. Otherwise just run past every enemy you can and only grab what necessary items. I also planned my route out on a notepad so I was never blindly wandering and that was a big help for me.

Yeah, I ended up figuring it out after a couple of tries. It just takes a while to stab Yawn to death and I would get greedy with my stabs because I was trying to shave some time off to make it under the 3 hour limit.

I like RE5. It's a good game even if it doesn't hold a candle to RE4 or the rest of the series.

That being said, it's a a fucking full-on action game. There is literally one puzzle in the entire game, and resource management is almost nonexistent because of the ways you can obtain ammo and healing.

for me it was 3. pretty sure it was the first game i played as a female protag as a kid and realized playing as a girl in vidya made me a little girly too

REmake, RE2 and RE4 are mandatory.

RE3 also, though it plays like a companion game to RE2 with some dumb shit thrown into the mix (the weird environmental puzzles with putting gems and placates into fountains to open doors and shit don't really jive when it's set in an implied open city, which makes the whole universe seem weird as fuck).

RE5 is actually good imo, but coop is a must. 6 is cinematic trash. REV1 and REV2 are RE: 'kid mode'. Simplefied level design and combat mechanics with too little emphasis on a sense of exploration and resource management.

RE0 and RE Code Veronica are animu as fuck. Think Sephiroth-looking antagonists or evil kiddy twins dressed in 18th century French costumes, but their gameplay and settings are fine for the most part.

I like RE1, but almost every game in the series is better than it. That said, its good that RE0 is on the low, but I would personally put it at dead last.

Why is RE7 the only that's "is this even a Resident Evil" game, it's not even the most drastic change the series has had on that list?

RE0 is the reason many of the bad guys turned from faceless corporate suits and armed mercs fucking up and leaking some bad shit into saturday morning cartoon villains being all Pinky and the Brain.

RE0 is redeemed by the simple fact that it's cut from the same cloth as REmake. Also it looks really good in the HD versions, because unlike its predecessor, its sourcefiles and assets were actually retrieved to do a proper remaster with.

I'm bad at Resident Evil games and I got it. Play as Jill on very easy and use the vjolt for plant 42.

RE2 was my first and I played RE1 in 2004 for the first time. Played REmake 1 year ago and it's now my favorite RE game along with RE2 even though I didn't like RE1 that much

RE5 isn't a good game compared to most TPS of it's own era letalone an RE game, you guys are too nice to it because of the RE label being slapped on it.

You have to understand that RE1 was such a different offering to the usual horror fair at the time. I think the success can be largely attributed by the choice to use prerendered backgrounds. The game was so immersive that you genuinely were scared to do anything until you found your feet. Then you get to the guard house and you feel like a king because you own P42. Then the hunters come and you're right back to square one being a scared motherfucker.
RE2 is the same game with a different skin, retard. The better voice acting helped, and the more interesting arsenal of weapons helped, but in RE2 you never feel really feel helpless like you do in RE1. And they dropped the ball bringing in the licker so early. Once it's obvious you can easily kill it with a pistol there's no reason to be scared anymore. They really should have made Scenario B the first scenario you play, because MR X makes it a very different game. Unfortunately because you don't play Scenario B first, you know all the routes in the station and lab so you don't feel "lost".

I played the game for the first time a couple of years ago and I was amazed how good everything about it looked and feeled.

Nah, RE0 is just a bad game with a lot of shitty acivements. I think I wasted more than 10 hours just on the Leech Mini-game because of how RNG that this is.

My knife playthough counts for like 15 of those saves. Also Hard and Real Survivor was like another 20 each probably, I was paranoid as shit.
And I've done a lot of playthroughs where I didn't even complete so that's why too.

So you lack the context of experience to understand why RE1 was so groundbreaking in its day and why so many people still love it even to this day.
