Can't skip door animations on console versions

>can't skip door animations on console versions

guess I paid the ''brainlet'' tax

Welp, that's what you get for playing on console.
At least you got a good game.

>i will just mod all the shit out of PC versions

PC gaming is literally no fun allowed. Door animations are kino.

>Door animations are kino.
I've had to sit through these since 98. Don't tell me you like walking from door A to door B in 3 seconds because you know the game by heart and sit through a 7 seconds long door opening

>door animations
they're literal loading screens, you know that?
it just shows how SLOW consoles still are.
Plus who the fuck wants to skip them anyway??

Not him, but I love that.

Tell you what user, because you are in such a ruch, why dont you just mod your way to the end credits, save yourself wasting time.

You could skip door animations in some games, though.

Damn, this post sure screams youth. Do you know you could skip the door scenes in the RE1 original PC version? Don't tell me you believe modern consoles are shittier than a PC from 1996.

casual

>Don't tell me you believe modern consoles are shittier than a PC from 1996.
>allowing Sup Forums to answer that question

Cute bait. If by any chance you were not being ironical, I actually like the game, outside of the hundreds of pace breaking PS1 era loading screens. It was a great idea for old hardware, though.

Thanks for the bump, brainlet

>getting told is now bait

>You could skip door animations in some games, though.
yeah, in the cartridge-based ports namely, where loading times were diminished into split second flashes.

I'm 30, and I've played practically every single port of original RE quadrilogy so far. Didn't remember door skipping being part of PC port, but that's not too surprising considering that you do install the game on HDD.

>Don't tell me you believe modern consoles are shittier than a PC from 1996.
in many ways, they are. And they still read from discs for the most part.

jokes on you I saged

>
far from feeling like I got told, try harder

>yeah, in the cartridge-based ports namely, where loading times were diminished into split second flashes

I got RE2 N64 and you can't skip them. The more I read your post the more it's credibility suffers

Unironically what's the appeal of the pre-4 series?
They're not scary at all. The puzzles are more "replace object x with object y" than anything else. The "combat" is barebones. The best way to deal with zombies anyways is to awkwardly run around/through them. Most of the game is spent looking for the next key you need to progress, or running back to the item box to retrieve the key you need.
I guess on the positive side, the bad acting/story is pretty charming? The resource management and strategy aspect is also neat. But I could watch the story on youtube, and the resource management has been done way better in other games (especially 4). I'm not baiting, seriously, what do people find appealing about these games?

>I got RE2 N64 and you can't skip them
I've had it since its release as well, and I could've sworn you could skip 'em. Then again, I've not really touched it in over 15 years, so derp.
What I'm certain of however is that you definitely could skip 'em in the NDS port of RE1, the Deadly Silence.

They had great atmosphere, characters, artstyle and i liked being kept on my toes with how i should choose routes/ammo resourcing. A literal bunch of jpeg backrounds feel like more of a real place to me than MANY fully rendered moderen day vidya worlds.

These games appeal to people like me that were both old and young enough to live through the 3rd person Survival Horror prime time, mainly from RE and SH. You were young enough to get scared out of the atmosphere, and old enough to advance through it without being afraid of progressing.

Back then, these were the best you could get for a scary video game experience. Nowadays sure, nothing scares me, no movies, no games. But I still think the games are genius for what they were back then and will always play them.

Can't think modern kids would like them though. They prefer first person indie SCP half assed youtube bait games.

You're a brainlet for buying a port of a 16 year old game

you're low iq

>Nowadays sure, nothing scares me, no movies, no games

This... i just bought The evil Within for the first time and keep wondering when the spook is coming, but it never comes.

Yes, only modern games for us! I just got done throwing out any games from 2017 ready now for video games only in the current year please!

Thanks for the real responses instead of something like I guess they're just not for me if I can't get immersed in the atmosphere

Door loading is a couple free seconds to gather your thoughts on what to do next on your speedrun.

>speedrun.

worst timeline

What else are classic REs for user-chan.

*buys multi-platform game son PC

For playing they are videogames

That's not what I'm saying retard, you should own those games on your GameCube already why buy them again for a third time?

What if I don't and I want to play it?

Well you shouldn't have been born in 2000

"Buy the console version and pirate the PC version."

>third time

So you are admitting to buying it a second time on Wii or some shit? What is this third?

for what reason?

Resident Evil on PS1
Resident Evil on GameCube
That's all you need, youre literally buying a port if you're getting it on any other console capcom is just sucking money from you retards buying the same game over and over again, also it's on the Wii and PS3 also

>also it's on the Wii and PS3 also

So THATS ok then? Just not on PS4??

So you wouldn't be an underage faggot encouraging companies just to shit out ports all the time instead of making new games, I'm waiting for actual new games to come out but at this point it looks like buying a rehash station 4 is pointless, I'm just gonna start buying imports for old consoles because new game consoles are not even worth it

That Doors are loading screens.

No it's not okay dumb cunt, read what I wrote an pay attention in English class

read the thread

So i hope you never purchased RE2, RE3, or CV on your gamecube either then and only played RE games on the very first consoles they each got released on. Wouldn’t want to be a hypocrite.

>play RE1 on PC
>skip ALL the doors
timelets, when will they learn?

I didn't, I own them only on the original console, PS1 for 2 and 3 and DC for CV that's how I play all my games, on the original console of release, I'm even taking classes in Japanese so I can play the games that only got remakes in the west or ports on their original console and get the authentic experience, because I'm not a casual faggot redditor

Whoever complains of this has no sense of mood, atmosphere or direction. There was a reason they left it in. Go play angry birds or something. Probably more of your speed.

>I'm even taking classes in Japanese
Look at this dumb fucking virgin

You sound like a fantastic person user. Peace be with you.

>posts anime

opinion discarded

But the GameCube version was already the third one I got? Did you forget about the Saturn port?

I wish I was a virgin, but I've fornicated about 5 times in total
Thanks

>but I've fornicated about 5 times in total
Pillows don't count

Oh yeah, I did but anyway there's no reason to get ports unless they add a substantial amount to the gameplay buying a straight up port that adds nothing is just rewarding capcom for their laziness
That's disgusting who fucks their pillow? You lay your head on there

This. Imagine getting a game on PC and the very first thing you do is look up PC wiki’s to see how much you can mod out of the game or gp full deviant art assests with “essential mods” before you even hit the title screen, all under the pretense that ypu have the commitee aproved “superior experince” and the devs were actually wrong. “FIXING” REMAKE.

Except I beat the game countless times

don't know why I'm replying to strawman anyway

And yet you are complaining about a few door screens. Whatever user, have your thinly vield platform war thread, it’s not like there is any meaningful topic of conversation here.

enjoy your ban, user
