What went wrong? Why is this game already forgotten instead of being considered a modern classic?
What went wrong? Why is this game already forgotten instead of being considered a modern classic?
for me it looked ugly and ran like shit and the controls were awful so I didn't even finish it.
because its ico 2.0
>Gen Z
I loved it
But I don't constantly talk about it since I'm not a shill and shitposting is more enjoyable
I played Ico and SOTC at release user.
0.5 more like. Ico was fun.
Genuinely one of the most disappointing games of all time. Thankfully MGSV already lowered the bar for me, so it wasn't nearly as depressing as it should have been.
Just complete wasted potential. The first game I've ever played that has made me motion sick while playing it.
Nothing went wrong. People are just tired of remasters. They did a good job with this one. Shadow of the Colossus is still one of the best puzzle games I've ever played.
This is the most likely answer. I would also like to add that it replaces the princess with a catdog, which ruins the homage to Zelda. Which in my mind is why ico was partially conceived.
I don't know. It has its AI issues but the second half of the game was amazing.
That isn't a remaster in OP's image
Most people didn't have the patience to try and heart-to-heart with the creature, despite that being the director's vision and purpose for the game. It's way more niche than the other two.
>jump down to my lovely pet
>he watches me fall to my death
fuck your heart to heart this game is just shit
Game controlled like dog shit.
But I loved it and Trico is a homie
Took too long to release.
Nobody is excited about games that were supposed to release 8 year ago.
It's nice, but now the market is flooded with touching emotional experience games, even if this is one of the better ones, it's just not as novel or exciting as Ico or SotC were.
So to what extent are you actually in control of Trico?
Is there any way to increase your control over him? Or is it just pure RNG?
>SOTCfags are so desperate to defend their remaster that they can't even pay attention to what thread they're posting at
It's entirely contextually based on calling his name and pressing the joystick depending on whether you're on the ground or on his back, and then there's like a 3 in 4 chance that he'll immediately do want, and occasionally when you're not ordering him around he'll actually undo some of your progress.
"Alledgely" if you don't feed him extra or treat his wounds fast enough he behaves more poorly, but I'm 99% sure this is bullshit.
Most egregious moment for me was
trying to tell him to dive into this underwater tunnel and he just kept diving in and swimming around and getting out of the water again like 20 something times
He will follow you around and generally will go towards the area you need to go to proceed, plus you can call him and give him simple commands (jump, go foward, etc)
But sometimes he will be a cunt and start to wander off and do some dum shit in a corner.
...what game?
If Trico is a male then where are his penis and testicles?
i think this game would work better as a movie
They're bioengineered by The Master of the Valley
>What went wrong?
the narration was a mistake, for one thing.
You're mom's butt lol.
>Nobody is excited about games that were supposed to release 8 year ago.
What is Star Fox Zero?
The Last Guardian.
Like most feathered creatures, they're inside his cloaca.
It flopped hard.
Exactly.
linear as balls
would have been cool if there had been a few areas in the city to explore since you could have easily done that.
It's an entire game expanding on the idea of the realistic horse in SOTC that everyone ended up disliking
1. Not announced 8 years ago
2. Similarly devisive
>homage to Zelda
yeah but Yorda is a fucking dumb bitch
>people actually criticize the fact that trico doesnt follow your every whim
jesus christ people miss the point so hard
I wonder if pet lovers vs people who don't want pets would line up with people who like this game and dont.
A failure
>Wow dude, yall are so dumb, it's like that since you're really training a wild animal.
There's no fucking point to it beyond realism.
It's the opposite of entertaining or interesting.
>everyone ended up disliking
Stick your head out of Sup Forums every once in a while.
I get the point alright, it's just not fun at all to do.
The horse in SOTC is notorious.
The director literally mentioned in an interview how they put in all this work into making the horse realistic only to have everyone dislike how hard it was to handle him.
And then he went and did the same thing but as the main focus of an entire game.
I don't necessarily believe there was much backlash against Agro.
He rarely ignores any immediate commands unless you're trying to steer him off a cliff or intentionally timing an awkward jump for him.
Trico definitely.
>I don't necessarily believe there was much backlash against Agro.
I dont think it was full on backlash as much as "this fucking horse man". He definitely knew it wasn't welcomed with warm arms.
clunky controls
optimized for PS4 Pro™
no replay value unless you are a trophy hunter, and even so the trophies need unnecessary time for how easy they are to get, plus you need a guide for the hint trophy
otherwise it's a fairly good game
My dog is more reliable and dependable than Trico, who is presumably supposed to be a mystic and more intelligent creature than my dog.
I could see Last Guardian being popular with cat owners.
Can your dog shoot laser pellets out of his ass
Don't think so, so get fucked
>no replay value unless you are a trophy hunter
Uh, as somebody critical of the Last Gaurdian, I'm gonna protest this point.
There's definitely a distinctively haunting style and atmosphere to Ico games that I LOVE revisiting, and there are always rewards for investing your time in replaying like costumes and secret items.
Woahhhh, what? This game has narration?
