What did 6 try and fail at? I can respect attempting stuff; most of my favorite games are kind of Janky. Samurai Warriors 2 had a board game mode with MXC style mini games that for some reason I really appreciated but I guess that mode isn't in any of the other games.

The Renbu system. Basically, it locks you out of most of your attacks, but as you dish out more hits, you eventually gain more moves as the bar fills up. I guess this is to prevent people from spamming the same OP combos over and over again, but the downside is you're stuck with your basic attacks most of the time

Gonna wait till it gets to the bargain bin, all the changes did not impress me, the open world will be stale as hell by the simple fact no open world game has ever impressed anyone if it wasn't built with a gigantic budget on its back, it's a fact really, why do they think GTA became so insanely popular after each new iteration, it's because 2K kept pumping budget onto Rockstar to make the open world map as atractive as they could. That's why open-world is a meme, too many companies are jumping into the wagon without having what it takes to make a truly engaging open world game.

Ah. I played 8 XL on the PC. It was playable, but they ported the PS3 version for some retarded ass reason. There's also no XBox button prompts.

With 1080p mode? What the fuck, they said the 1080p on the PS4 Pro was exactly to aim for a 1080p/60fps experience, 4K mode would be the mode to expect the 30fps and the slow downs.

It's a tragedy how couch co-op is slowly being fazed away from gaming, for fuck's sake it seems Nintendo is the only company who still defends it, by the time they give up on it too then it's over, couch co-op will be a thing of the past.

Don't know what the hell that user is talking about, Koei-Tecmo has been pushing this one for China/Asia super hard, with Chinese VO this time (DW hasn't had this in a good while), and presentations at the Taipei Game Show a week or so ago.

Chinks are simply known to review bomb games for petty reasons, but so far the most common complaint is that they're mad that the Mandrin dub has the voice actors mimick Japanese intonations so it sounds really awkward in spoken Chinese.

The jungle area looks pretty comfy imo

China became the main market for Dynasty Warriors, the large portion of the sales come from there, that's why DW9 now has a chinese dub, one could even say that the reason some of girls are a bit more covered up now is to suit to chinese standards, they aren't as keen on fanservice as Japan is.

Ironic, because the usual criticism has always been that it's a "mindless button mash". Yet certain aspects of DW9 can't even fulfilled that singular criteria.

Good. Because the combat was easily the most boring part of musou anyway. The role play aspects of Empires is what hooked me to the series

I'm maining a CaW when Empires comes out, maybe they'll have more movesets by then.

I know there's clone movesets and all but couldn't they keep the finishers unique at least? In 8 he was fun to play as considering his moveset is just Gilgamesh from Fate.

It really depends. You play the main game for the story. Empires is so self inserting and grand strat lite.

Ever since DW4E I've always preferred Empires over the base and XL games.

Take SSX for example. DW6 by far produced her worst design. Her designs following have been improvements. Though her design in DW5 is still her best.

She's an NPC but you can buy a DLC where she becomes playable and gets her own story mode and everything.
Any long story short, Xiahouji was a sweet and shy girl who always stayed at home. One day she went to the forest to play, and she met Zhang Fei. The rest is history.

Some people are mad because KT made her madly in love with Zhang Fei, and whitewashing all traces of her being violently raped by the drunkard.

Even then look at how awkward she is compared to her supposed 'children'.

It's been 9 games and the ai has not improved the slightest.
Biggest beafs with dynasty warriors for me is the ai hardly does things, and your non existent army doesn't do anything. The difficulty curve is only increasing the health sponge and damage increased makes it kind of lame.

She's a unique NPC that's also playable with some DLC purchase, her weapon I think is a chained mace.

Her story is she's Xiahou Yuan's niece, when she was 12 or 14 and out gathering firewood Zhang Fei found her. Being the gentleman he is, he abducted her, and forced her to be his wife. KT being the class act they are rewrote it so that she was saved from bandits and fell in love with Zhang Fei.

She wasn't requested, or relevant so I don't know why they added her.

I probably put in hundreds upon hundreds of hours into DW 5 empires. Shit was so fun
