Why don't you just appear offline? I do that often when playing in the night.

Dude... If it's honestly this much of an issue, just make a second steam account and set up family sharing with your main account and play your collection with your alt account.
Or, maybe just play in offline mode?
Or, perhaps just don't care if other people see you playing while you're on vacation?

Any of these are acceptable options.
