TJ was right,one action is accomplished when the button reaches the floor therefore button is pressed one time.
Just like you pull the trigger on the gun,one(1) round fires and the action is called -pulling the trigger-.
When you release the trigger it is called trigger reset.
With the press the trigger the action cycles,round is fired,new round is chambered and the one firing action was completed.
Releasing the trigger does noting to the gun but placing the trigger to be pressed for the second trigger pull.
When you shoot at a guy you cant say that you only fired half a round because you haven't released the trigger.

There is a concept in javascript "programming" of keypresses. Specifically keydown, keyup, and keypress. A keydown fires when the key is first pressed down, a keyup on release and a keypress is when the entire action is done at once. A presses in Mario work the same way.

Yeah there's no difference between a whole press and half a press in the context of a single level, but in the context of an entire playthrough, it does matter. That's what he explains in the video. If all you need is for A to be held down until a certain part of the level, then you can use the actual press from a previous level to facilitate that. That's what he means by half a press. You press A down in one level, then release it later in a different level, both "halves" of the press counting as a single press for the total run.

You obviously haven't watched the video, or if you have, then you willfully ignored the parts that explain the half press. It's not the release that's important for the level in question, it's keeping A held down until a certain point. The number of presses only matters in the context of a full run. "Half press" just indicates that you can utilize the press from a different level and only really matters when you break the entire run down into individual levels.

You still have your automatic gun and infinite magazine from before, when you had to go to the bathroom. For some reason, you are trying to complete this game with the fewest trigger pulls possible, so you keep the trigger held down the entire way there until you have reached McDonalds and shot the man. You have finished both levels with one total trigger pull. In the context of a tutorial video, you might explain that, when breaking the levels down, level 2 can be completed with half a trigger pull, meaning only that you capitalized on the original trigger pull from level 1. This is, of course, a meaningless distinction except in the context of the tutorial video.

You cant carry over trigger pull from level 1 at the same time you are spawned in level 2 from thin air.
