I'm a little worried about it. They dropped the familiars altogether which is a shame because now you have to look at the main cast all the time and their designs don't really impress. They also apparently have some tacked on kingdom management minigame now too.

It will probably be better than the first one. Level-5 always improves the gameplay with the second game in their series, and the gameplay was the biggest problem with the first game.

I'm extremely excited for the ss potential here, especially with SFM getting as good as it is lately.

They are putting a lot of emphasis in the simplistic RTS segments in the pre-release footage this time around, which has me really worried.

All I want for Ni No Kuni 2 is for it to be Ni No Kuni 1+less handholding+better combat. The combat seems much better, but the exploration might have been dumbed down a little and the RTS segment might be a huge component of the game now...

Lloyd is supposed to be an immature 17 year old. Actually, real 17 year olds are immature in general.
Max is an intelligent 13 year old, but still a literal child looking for his lost mother. Knowing their real ages is important to interpreting their characters correctly.

The game seems to be divided in three main loops now: dungeon / overworld (chibi look) / city exploring, kingdom building (overhead view of your kingdom, you add buildings to empty places, fortify locations) and skirmish mode (RTS-like segments where you control units, attack and defend locations, pic related).

We don't know how much of the game this will be, but they're emphasizing it a lot in pre-release footage.

Dark Cloud 2 improves on everything about Dark Cloud 1 gameplay-wise. The only things that might subjectively be better about DC1 are the darker atmosphere and the Georama. Both games are great though.

Never played any of those back in the day, started playing 2 on PS4 and it seems cool, I'll definitely be putting tons of hours into it.

Evan could be called bland but his design is pretty classical and suits him well while also being aesthetically pleasing. Tani's hair, cloak, and facepaint look terrible, and she gives off vibes like she is going to be a huge bitch for most of the game.
Now that I think about it, the male designs and characters are really infinitely better in this series. Why can't they draw appealing girls?

I have 0 problems with this, they do have god-tier shotas but they should go hire some lolicons too for better overall quality.
