Why cant OP into English?

But we got Pagan Min and now we'll see how The Father ends up being like, so I don't see your point.

Because in the last 5 years the world has changed
" Because Far Cry 3, well, it's a bit racist, isn't it?

I said, rather flippantly, that the people of this island are the race they are, because it's the island they're native to. It is what it is, essentially. And that's the case — that's really not the issue here. It had to be set somewhere. The issue is the horribly worn tropes it so lazily kicks around when it gets there. As it is, you have the simple-folk-natives, and the immigrant white men with their mixture of South African and Australian accents. And one black guy. White people ask you to get involved in enormously elaborate machinations, ancient mysteries, and local politics. Locals ask you to help them kill endangered species, find their missing daughters, and point out when their husbands are gay. Essentially, the locals behave as if they're helpless without you, but when you wield their tattoo-based magical powers then true greatness appears. And it's here that the problems really kick in.

There's a term for it. It's "Noble Savage". And it also falls under the remit of the "Magical Negro". The trope is that the non-white character possesses mystical insight, magical abilities, or simply a wisdom derived from such a ‘simple life', that can enlighten the white man. And it's pretty icky. The premise relies on the belief that the individual's race is in some way debilitating, something their noble/mystical abilities are able to ‘overcome'."

summer pls go

pagan min isnt a villain

>Showing how new you are
I bet you can't into girls either lol

they can't into anything other than bland open worlds

>Anymore
Vaas was literally carried by his voice actor who they rewrote to suit because he walked in and killed it with a wacky crazy Latino guy, originally he was supposed to be some unimportant pirate captain like the Gay Rape Guy who nobody remembers.

I liked El Sueno even though he was an edgy cliche and Wildlands PvE was kinda shitty.

Sermon time with him was super /comfy/.

I hope he doesn't die on Better Call Saul

is that fucking nacho lmao

>hurr I QUOTE EINSTEOINN
shit tier villain, honestly

Buck, buck likes to fuck.

Fuck off SJW. Did you also rejoice when they turned Nathan Drake's son into a freaking girl because of Anita Whatsherface?

>implying Ubisoft was ever good at making villains
Vaas was fedoracore reddit-tier

Excuse me sir, Cassie a cute

What's the origin of this pasta?

Is this article trying to tell us that white people aren't useless and jungle niggers don't have magical powers?

>Vaas was fedoracore reddit-tier

So basically good, but you want to be seen as a special snowflake for not liking him.

>We want the Waco audience

This character was an insufferable cliche. All game writing is atrocious

Can we side with the villain this time?

This, but unironically.

What are you talking about this time? The whole game in farcry 4 you are with the villains.

i hope you posted him as a bad example of a villain

dude was a fucking retard

Then explain to me what's so great about him

As far as i can tell, his character is literally just "I'M CURAZAY". No amount of pseudo philosophical dialogue fixes that. Even Pagan was better.

thats not what noble savage is

You're right, my mistake. Can we side with the people Ubi is trying to portray as the villain this time?

more like "mentally damaged because my sister tried to fuck me and threw me out like trash when i said no"

The Jackal was way cooler than that faggot.

Name a good villain in a game.

See

>this is what passes as a mentally breaking, character destruction moment
Raped and/or beaten by father I'd buy, but your sister just trying to fuck you isn't enough for you to go all Joker-like.

The only thing I like about the recent far cry games is the way they attempted to make both sides out to be piece of shit options, and even made the "villains" somewhat more desirable, yet you can't join them.

david koresh did nothing wrong

>Jackal
>Villain

From a meme point of view

Wonder how far cry 5 will make the bad guys relatable, and even agreeable with their motives.

>Praise Jesus, fuck the gov'ment, shoot things
i'm with them already

Never understood why so many people say it's a great villain. He's rather good, but is very edgy and predictable. He looks like a kid acting how he is so crazy and evil. He's you're average console neighboor. People relating to his low deepness writing is surely why he's remembered.

Because they end up making the bad guys more interesting and likable than the good guys. Pagan Min being the most extreme case where he ended up coming off as the lesser evil compared to your allies.

i already see hints of it in the trailer. But the cult and its leader seem to be disgruntled in society. I'd imagine the game is gonna toy with the idea of the "forgotten man" focusing abit how the country failed these people.
Farcry 4 tackled themes like imperialism(ajay enforcing his will on a culture he has zero clue about),secularism, ect. So i can see the game taking this angle

I liked how they made you work with the villains in FC4 for the majority of the game.

no more TV Tropes for you

>and even made the "villains" somewhat more desirable, yet you can't join them.
That's wrong though. You can join pagan in 4, just have to wait 10 minutes like he asks you to.

its a good plot twist that most games don't really touch on or fail at applying it

>tfw the U.S. becomes a socialist, unconstitutional, degenerate shithole and identity politics/political correctness actually takes over and disenfranchises conservative, america loving white men all over, causing them to rebel

I'd actually like this narrative, not that they'd do it.

I doubt people actually go to any lengths or depths of his character to come to the conclusion that he's 'great'. He's just entertaining for the most part.

>acting like this counts
That's not joining, that's going there for what you came for, then leaving. I'm talking about stomping out the resistance

>Far Cry 5 is still 7 weeks away

Ubisoft didn't even come up with that villain.
They had some lame generic character planned until the actor showed up and went off script, they liked him so much they re-wrote the game around him.

I doubt it, but if there were an iteration where you could it'd be 5, considering the Protag is a self-insert.
I just hope there isn't the Renown system or whatever from 4. Post-game murdering Golden Shower faggots was great except for the constant popup. Like I'm being punished for killing assholes.

I'd imagine it'd not be that hard. US goverment does fucked up shit when people question it's authority, like what happened in Waco.
Just make the '''''''villains''''''' fundie /k/ommando-types who got fed up with the world and are simply trying to live in their commune alone, and your told to go stop them, but never given an actual reason besides "Because you've been ordered too"
Don't have to make the cult into heroes or anything, just make it clear the only bad they've done is that most evil of sins: daring to not support the US government

it's because Ubisoft are now the villains

DEEPEST LORE

More like why can't they into gameplay anymore?
>Farcry 2
>Tons of chaotic shit
>Fire can spread
>Ammo cases can go off
>AI work together and feels organic
>Jams add tension to the gunplay and force you to scrounge around the fallen enemies as you fight on

Now it's just the same formula, sterile as fuck. No surprises.

>Ubisoft are now the villains
>Even when they make decent games
Ubisoft is dumb. Not particulaly in an endearing way, like Capcom, but they're now inherently evil like say, Square Enix.

Why can't Ubisoft into games anymore?
Cookie cutter annual release cash cow pieces of shit. Stopped playing them years ago.

All the previous excellent games were Ubi experimenting, and allowing their slaves a small amount of lee-way to better facilitate that experimentation. Now that they've got a formula that works, they will do nothing but use that formula to make money.

Looks more like they were going for comedy than villain.

Fair enough. Though it wouldn't make much sense for you to help stomp out the golden path in 4, because at the start they're almost defeated anyways Which, looking back, is a major problem I have with 4. Your just one guy who isn't even trained in warfare, and yet you are bassically the sole reason that the golden path wins. You essentially """"liberate"""" the country by yourself. Would have been nice to make it feel like you part of something larger, instead of you being fucking rambo and conquering a whole fucking country by yourself and your just some 20 something dude from the states, not a super elite commando or anything.
I suppose what they could have done is at some point towards the end of the game given you the option to say "oh fuck, the golden path is way worse than pagan min" and allowed you to switch sides and help him crush what you've created.

ajay is ex military

Is he? I remember that he was at some point involved with a gang, which explains why he can handle weapons and such, but I don't remember it being said he was in the military. Of course I could have just missed that part or forgotten it

farcry.wikia.com/wiki/United_States_Marine_Corps he's also christian. never knew that

It wasn't stated or referenced to in the game at all, only in the manual or official guide or something so it's understandable that most don't know that.

Huh, learn something new everyday

Far Cry 4 had the best villain. Actual insane man who wanted to die and wanted the main character to do it but at the same time didnt really make it easy.
Anyway I just wanna explore Far Cry 5 and do sidestuff.

Far cry is good though.
The game play is good, which is what really matters, and the story of each game is enough to make it interesting and worth investing time into, while also allowing each game to go to exotic places and do cool shit, but it's done in a way that doesn't take away from the actual playing of the game.
Fun to play, engaging world, story which gets you involved without taking away from playing the game. What more could you ask for?

Was primal any good?

I found it tiresome. Some of the mechanics were pretty neat but they did not mesh well together, so the game becomes a chore and rather shallow as a whole. The survival mode they added was also a neat idea but, again, didn't mesh well with some of the mechanics they had.

Its the only Far Cry game I've ever played, but I really loved it. I just wish the story was a bit longer and most of the characters needed a lot more screen time.

Actual soul to it.

their villains are white now

All characters in FC4 are completely insufferable.

What do you mean by soul?

Survival mode would be amazing if they ditched the story and plopped you randomly somewhere in the world. You have to redo the long ass intro everytime you die, and backing up saves gets monotonous as fuck.

my hero...

How is it in terms of just running around and fucking shit up? Is hunting the animals any fun?
Because when I first heard about it, I was rather cautious, because being set in cave man times seems like it wouldn't mesh well with what makes far cry fun, which is basically running around like a /k/ommando told he can do whatever he wants with no legal consequences.
Still not sure why they didn't just go with Fra Cry: !jurrasic park instead of actually setting it per-agricultural revolution

Vaas wasn't a villain though. He unlocked the potential of Jason Brody and helped him to defeat Hoyt

ya hate to see this type of thing happen

Fuck off Ubisoft is doing nothing that would harm the industry unlike your Nintendo, EA, Bethesda and other garbage like that. It feels like everyone takes their games for granted. What was the worst thing they ever did? Baaah they downgraded graphics, literally fucking Hitlers.

I'll take Ubisoft game over any other triple A dev anyday.

Actual thought was put into the game rather than filling the blanks on the template

He will user...
We know this because in BB Mike said to Jessie tha he had a young partner before but he died... :(

Yes, the gameplay is lots of fun and the cave man setting works great for it.

Far Cry 2 did not have good gameplay. Not even for one second. Absolute mediocrity is a huge step up.

>Far Cry 2 did not have good gameplay.
I liked the gameplay by I hated the bulletsponge enemies.

>anymore
Elaborate.

When your villains look like people you see every day , you better hope their writing is good

I hope there will be less drugs this time. Missions under drugs are super-annoying in FC4.

Sorry about your casual, brain-dead taste.

Yeah, because Farcry 3&4 fixed this by having even bullet spongier animals (oh look a Tiger that can eat AKs and shotgun shells to the face repeatedly!)

Shut the fuck up simpleton. It was mindless shallow, repetitive garbage at the time and time hasn't improved it any.

>It was mindless shallow, repetitive garbage
And by removing all the things that made it dynamic and interesting they made it even more so. That was my fucking point you illiterate cockrag.

I agree with you- everything you said is correct

They're guilt of shady acquisitions practices just like zenimax and EA, and fired the main designer of one of the asscreeds, might've been all of them, and then bought his new startup just to fire him again.

Did you play For Honor's story mode? I know opinions are not generally good about the game, but the main villain basically starts out as your commander, until she starts fucking about the knights' code or some shit, only with the purpose of making war between the factions. While playing as a knight, she makes you raid and starve the vikings so that they will go pillage somewhere else to get food. This leads ghe viking ls to japland. Then Apollyon (the villain) breaks the japs chain of command and makes the different samurai tribes fight among themselves just to wage war. Pure evil.

they only got into him for half a game anyways. he was good but they discarded him pretty quick. sad.

You do know he thinks he is Jesus right, like he kills normal christans.

Is Ryan Gosling an actual autist? He seems like it

Varg was a fucking saturday morning cartoon villian
> LE INSANITY XD
Pagan is objectively the better "villain" because he's actually not the villain

Are you implying Vaas was a good villain?
