LOOK GUYS, IT'S ANOTHER RPGMAKER GAME! WOOOOOOOOOOAH!
Have you actually ever enjoyed an RPG Maker game that isn't h-shit?
LOOK GUYS, IT'S ANOTHER RPGMAKER GAME! WOOOOOOOOOOAH!
Have you actually ever enjoyed an RPG Maker game that isn't h-shit?
It's fun to create maps, too bad most tilesets are fucking ugly.
Yume Nikki, though it's barely a game.
I loved a German one, called Unterwegs in Dusterburg.
Wasn't Lisa made in RPG Maker?
War of Two Worlds was pretty fun back in the day. No idea if I'd still enjoy it now though.
Petit Dungeon Limited Order.
It's Pokemon with lolis. Maybe coming soon to Steam too.
It is
It's just a meme to hate RPG Maker because most people don't realize they can just drop all the standard assets completely - scripts included.
its fine if they are funny. humor is crucial for these kinds of games
Mischief war was fun
>That isn't h-shit
No. The base systems are pretty boring and i've never run into something that bothered to mix them up in an interesting way. It seems very mastered by h-game creators but utilized in a lazy way by normal people.
I use a pirated copy of it to make maps for roll20
Life of spirit.
The plot is actually pretty good for a h-game when doing virgin route.
Shame its kinda repetive and a lot of events are route locked or a clusterfuck to find the shit needed to unlock them.
Started for the fapping.
Ended up feeling so bad for her on most endings that I just wanted her to have a happy life.
even porn rpg maker games are now boring to me
Unterwegs in Dusterburg and Vampires Dawn were the shit.
These games got me into game development.
Yes.
>Maybe coming soon to Steam too.
Do tell me more.
>MV
Fuck you OP I actually thought a new engine had came out.
I'm currently working on my lewd game so I dont wanna have to change to a newer engine.
And I guess its a good thread to ask. Is there a better software to make games like that?
I used RPG Maker all my life but I know theres other stuff like Wolf whatever, tho not sure if its better.
Which one is the beach screenshot from?
Looks really good and comfy.
>I recognized only 5 kanjis on this picture
I just want to play japanese games, not suffer
Game went above and beyond expectations
It's not porn, dumbass.
Kso has considered it at the very least. Maybe I should work on the translation some more with my limited knowledge when I find time.
Garnet.
Undertale and LISA are both pretty good. The former more than the latter, certainly, but they both have their charms.
Well, not the Joyful. The Joyful is complete garbage. Still, though.
Undertale is Game Maker
Shame the game is really text heavy so translation never ever.
Used machine translation so it was kinda wonky.
And the partial patch is only for 1.11 so I had to only copy paste the parts that had no additional content because I where to lazy to fix the rest.
To the Moon was neat.
>romhacks that have been released
>versus a bunch of screenshots with no finished games behind them
You're a faggot.
drunken paladin.
Dungeons & Prisoners, made a nice roguelikelikelike
too bad it's fucking dead
No, but then I don't play them.
There are thousands of games coming out so I can afford some standards.
Five Nights at Fuckboy's did a stellar job of playing a playable shitpost.
Yumi Nikki and To The Moon were nice. Pretty much just story games, but I don't mind.
>Inhale my dong, enragement child
Is the updated trillogy release still coming?
Both were very good games I've played dozens of times.
Another excellent games are "Die Reise ins All", "Mondschein" and "Eternal Legends".
corpse party and mad father are pretty good imo if you like horror games
J-horror games, Yume Nikki, Lisa
iv enjoyed literally one, and mostly it was just the writing, and the fact that it was free
Tales of the drunken paladin
pretty long, had multiple "dlc" contents to keep the story going, and is usually pretty cheeky. all of the protags were generic npc art, and eventually when the creator got enough donations, he hired an artist to recreate them in non stock art, but looking the game
the MC is just generic guard 1 here (pre art change), and i think the picture is from the first dungeon
I dropped this when the guy proposed his wife to make the house near the lighthouse, i felt too bad for the guy.
Corpse Party was crazy good, only rpgmaker game that's ever made me care about the characters.
Something about old rpgmaker games has an extreme charm to them.
Please resume man, it'll all work out. But yea some parts can hit you right in the feels.
Obligatory Corpse Party music
youtube.com
>cute
Legion Saga games are cool, Ara Fell have some very nice use of Mack's graphics, Curse of Silence was a neat demo. I played a shitton of them as a kid but I forgot most of them.
Hell yeah motherfucker.
Why do they keep sticking to the ugly flat/bocky assets instead of going back to the RPG Maker XP style where they had depth
Recommend me some RPG Maker games.
This game is amazing, I literally do not know how they pulled half that shit off in the 2k3 engine
What made German rpg maker games so good?
vampiresdawn.de
You can download an english version for both 1 and 2.
I like mogeko games
I felt like wadanohara was a liitle bit drawn out.
LISA, OFF, Space Funeral
Not to mention the music.
youtube.com
There are some freeware horror games I have a soft spot for. Like The Crooked Man.
>literally says Wolf Rpg Editor on the picture
It's still rpg maker software.
1 and 2 are finished in the Complete Collection, but there's no plans for 3 because Sunky's making a FNaFB Pizzeria Simulator Fangame instead.
I stopped using RPG Maker back in 2013 because of how woefully unprofessional the staff of their official forums were. It forced me to become competent and learn how to create my own resources and design my own game mechanics. I've improved so much, I get embarrassed just thinking about the crap I used to make in RPG Maker.
Is there an RPG maker that's not h-shit with choice and consenquence, multiple paths and so like a good WRPG/CRPG
They should find a new engine if anything else. I can only imagine having to work with RPGMaker's tedious dialogue box.
I've tried a handful from pic related but didn't enjoy any, which is odd considering traditional turn based jrpgs are my favorite genre.
Japanese rpg shota games are top tier. Nergal's wasn't particularly well programmed but it was the only good fap western had.
You're still stuck with their branding. You can't change the game icon, and it can only be played through the RGSS player, which players are forced to download.
Different guy but no, no it doesn't! All it works out for is the guy! Nothing actually changed for anyone else! It's legit fucking terrifying to me as a concept.
3-fucking-deep 5me
What are some good ones for getting into?
The thing is, the default RPG Maker battle system is dogshit and if you're adept enough at coding to script your own battle system anyway you might as well bump up to a more powerful engine. I would only recommend RPG Maker as a development tool for adventure games like Yume Nikki and Ib
They're not made with rpg maker. And some are fun.
Warriors: The Road to Immortality is pretty solid, although the assets are just okay. (It's getting new facesprites in a future update, though.)
For me, the thing that tied me to RPG Maker for so long were the graphics, both the premade ones and the ones available on forums that are derived from them. It took me until recently to finally break that tie, but it ended up being for the best. I've developed my own aesthetic and I might even be able to upgrade to making commercial games rather than just hobbyist crap.
Wolf seems to be more tricky to use from a consumer point of view. I play a lot of HRPGs and Wolf games seem to break more easily than RPGMaker?
>escape goat
Also, game looks interesting so I'll have to have a poke around and find it. Mind giving me a link to save me the trouble though?
Just one.

RPG maker peaked with 2000/2003. That was when people were doing the most inventive shit with switch scripting and events before they just let you copy/paste code straight into the code editor in XP. The best games then had some fucking intensely customized systems. It was almost like the demake community, seeing how advanced you could make stuff on what was such a basic system.
Best ones I ever played were:
>Grave Spirit
A neat horror/adventure/puzzles game with no turn based battles and a couple of action battle boss fights. You played as a corpse possessed by a vengeful spirit sent into an empty, darksouls-esque land. A lot of really cool puzzles and good atmosphere
youtube.com
>Naufragar: Crimson
Massively polished RPG with better writing than probably any JRPG and customized battles that allowed you to steal enemy defenses, charge attacks between turns and build and develop character builds by putting points into skills and magic

Is there actually an rpg maker game with the quality of an old snes rpg?
Lisa RPG
Currently at work, can't check the names but for japanese there is this fully voiced game where mc moves to an apartment full of woman who want to ss. Another one is called prank wars I think, this one has actual gameplay but is not 100% shota oriented. Both of them has English translation.
For western, both nergal's game with AZL actually having coherent gameplay. The last one escapes me but is drawn by a female (i think)and its in version 0.5 or 0.4, about a farm and rebuilding the village.
>Look this game up
>Its on Steam
>Published by SakuraGame, that Chinese group that sells HRPGs for pocket change with real shit translations
>Also pic related
>NTR
This probably isn't the place to ask, RPG maker has only been for porn games for years.
Try Legion Saga 1/2/3, Naufragar: Crimson or A Blurred Line if you want an actual decent snes style RPG.
>A Blurred Line
holy fuck, I remember playing this about 18 years ago
was it ever finished? I remember it being multi-part and the last one I played was "the line thickens"
No one has posted OFF
TRASH TASTE
I don't think so, Most people who were any good at making RPG maker games moved on. I remember hearing the guy who made Legion Saga went on to work at some AAA game studio.
It just seems to me that some games made on Wolf look visually better than rpg maker ones.
Tho might be just some plugin shit.
>unspeakable NTR plots
Might just try and make my own soon.
Set in the Dragon Ball setting, might be fun, an actual RPG though
The problem with wadonahara is that nothing really mattered until you reached the big reveal.
It was all filler before that.
The big reveal and all that came after it was good, but fuck you had to wade through so much nothing to reach it.
>Have you actually ever enjoyed an RPG Maker game that isn't h-shit?
Yes, but never an actual rpg.
Not gonna lie you are correct but that's what makes it a beautiful kind of sad you know?
Well anyway more RPG gaems
Which RPGMakers are available to pirate in English
>story rich
When this meme will die?
I like messing with the creator
>everyone bullying the guy to finish building the stupid lighthouse instead of letting him "be selfish" and spend the money on his wife's medical treatment
I got so bloody mad.
Last Dream
Are rpgs in rpg maker the easiest types of game to make?
The next thing that comes to mind is 2D platforms but you gotta animate the characters.
I remember liking "Macht" when I played the demo years ago. Wonder if it's finished by now. "Vampires Deaf" is also a guilty pleasure of mine.
Depends on the quality of the game I guess.
RPG Maker has templates for everything. The sprites, maps, enemies, combat system, etc. Any game's difficult to make if you're putting real effort into it, but if you don't really care I guess you could slap together something in RPG Maker pretty damn quickly.
It's incredibly easy to just make a shitpost with default assets, but to make an actual game of actual quality can take quite some time, especially depending on the scope of the project.
The problem I have with OFF is that there was literally no point to the battle system. All you do is set the characters to autofight and lean back. The puzzles were ok and the music was great.
