why aren't there any Xcom style Stargate games?

Because it's a dead franchise
Man I would legit pay good money for that, has to be SG1 though.
nah it's under torture now
youtube.com
just kill me and whoever made this with me
disgusting
>XCom
Always with this comparison. I think something like Silent Storm would be a better match.
The key part of XCom, besides expendable Rookies who can't hit shit, is the evolution of your forces to match the continually improving enemy. SG-1 had basically none of that.
Because the P90 is already endgame equipment.
>p90 specifically chosen due to its small caliber and generally weak piercing just to get by gooooold shields
>Daniel literally ascends to a higher plane of existence to combat a threat mortals can't deal with
>no advancements to meet improving enemy
>one major weapon upgrade in 10 seasons
>one major type of new enemy in 10 seasons
>reverse engineering of alien technology goes to create new setpieces rather than things the ground team can use
Don't be a dumb faggot, user. There's a world of difference between trading up to P90s to shoot Jaffa/Ori NotJaffa for 10 seasons and flying around the map using plasma weapons to incinerate the mind raping masters of the alien invasion.
why aren't there more xcom style games in general? strategy games are all boring RTS shit or (shudder) roguelikes nowadays
>the deadalus wasn't commissioned and used
>reverse engineered glider battles in the Arctic didn't happen
>humans never made allies with various alien races like the psychic tree dudes with Quark or the Tok'ra
>entire plots about the government constantly trying to expose you or shut you down didn't happen (with based Picardo)
There are whole entire scenarios you could put into your stupid little xcom clone to make the gameplay varied. Your team doesn't have to start with the p90's, they could work towards it. You could have missions where you are just defending a map ala going thru the gate, missions where you defend stargate command if you don't have the defense to outright stop them gating in, you could have seige and swat style missions where you board motherships and steal zpms.
>still missing the point THIS hard
Just be quiet
You are thinking about XCOM while OP is thinking about nuXCOM which is about cutscenes and soldier customization.
eh there's no logical reason not to start out with P90's, it's not like belgium isn't shitting them out by the truckload
upgrades should come in the form of integrating alien technology into firearms
Which genre would give me the chance to bang Adria?
I thought they sent only 1 dude through the gate whom they found years later in SG-1
I've always imagined a KOTOR style game where you have SG and Jaffa campaigns where you work your way up the ladder from grunt to elite.
o my god
maybe an rpg
Yeah, the chicks fiance went to some castle on a cliff where there was this scripture Daniel had a hard-on for
>place falls into the sea the same day they go through the gate
They had pretty good timing tbqf
Just another deus ex moment, the whole show is basically just fix or escape everything in the nick of time before something happens
Because the theme is extremely limited to ranged units. Try having half the units being melee and half being able to shoot across the map.
>not portioning your TUs properly
>no Fraiser
why live
God is dead and we killed him.
This looks horrid
Just make a mod for xcom. Space engineers has Stargate mods.
