I rank it as one of the best ever too. Everything about it is fun and quick. But it gets best in my book because it made me ragequit, and no other game has done that before.
I breezed thru the game on each difficulty, then got to Armstrong on VHard and just didn't have enough gels to keep up. He'd kill me in 2 hits at full health and I just wasn't gud enuff to handle him.
I walked away happy though, the game was way more fun than I thought it would be, and I went in expecting fun.
>this boss fight on pc
You’re probably right user. There might be a better boss fight but nothing comes to mind
I want nothing but your very best!
actually desu all of Furi could count for 'best boss fight of all time'. It's a game literally built to be great boss fights.
literally just a series of qte's and a prime example of platinum's terrible bosses.
Vergil 3 gives him a run for his money.
It's good but too little core action. Once he goes for the first heal you'll probably DPS him down to the cross-counter QTE and then that'll push him into the throwing rocks.
What's wrong? Don't have a gamepad? Even with that you can always just dodge metal parts he's throwing at you.
>best boss
who did literally NOTHING wrong!
Well. He DID lose, so that was definitely a wrong move.
Vergil is better but Armstrong is a close second.
section where he throws rocks was retarded and I hated it
other than that good fight, but not the best of all time
I'm probably gonna get a lot of shit for saying this but I'd say Laughing Octopus from MGS4 is one of the best bosses of all time.
STANDING HERE
You are fucking retarded.
It isn't just the fight itself, it's everything surrounding it. Everything that led up to it, the fucking slow build up and speeches before the real final fight, the god damn music, "this isn't my sword." It's perfect. It's one of the best we will ever get.
Vergil is still king at the end of the day.
>fighting him in the sam dlc at higher difficulty
First time i ever ragequitted in a game. Fuck his RNG bullshit, especially his charge and grab attack.
>rng
NANOMACHINES SON
I fucking loved Armstrong.
>the sam DLC
Fuck that shit, made me quit try harding after trying to complete FUCKING VR MISSION 004 on Revengeance difficulty with an S rank
Ludwig is the best boss fight of all time
Yes I can
alright, im wating
I can't because you're absolutely right
All the bosses were great too.
I thought it was really cool how she would hide in the environment. It's one of the rare times I actually felt like I was the one being hunted down instead of me just completely overkilling the boss like usual.
Flatlander Woman
Laputan Machine
I really don't understand this at all. He's not even the best soulsborne boss, let alone close to the likes of Armstrong or Vergil. The fact that Ludwig becomes a total snoozefest in his second phase kind of disqualifies him from these discussions.
Daily reminder that only MGS2 soyboys dislike MGR
I'M NOT A good boss fight
But I'm an mgs2 soyboy and I love mgr
I don't know of any MGS2 fan that dislike it. It's mostly only hated by the soylent addicted MGS3 numale fagboys.
I liked MGS2 and MGR though?
MGS2 was more groundbreaking sure, but MGR is still very good.
This, both are great
>he plays platinumgames games with a keyboard
>He plays with keyboard and mouse
Hehe
Unironically
It's real flashy but piss easy. Without the novelty and soaking it in, you can breeze through it.
You got the wrong Platinum game there, man. Lemme fix that for you.
Maybe not best, but years later it's still fresh in my mind how hard this bitch pushed my shit in, and how much I liked it.
>press w+M0
>aww yis gonna block
>*camera moves slightly*
>*doesnt count as a block now*
>die or take massive damage
came here to post this. not disappointed
God Wonderful 101 was a treat.
I hope that the switch port comes out soon, more people should really play it.
Metal Gear Rex/Liquid Snake.
Orphan of Kos.
>playing action games with keyboard and mouse
w101 has the best finale overall but jergingha is kind of a lame fight
>invincibility phases out the ass on most bosses
no
Is a port confirmed yet? I've seen all the rumors but nothing official yet.
Jerghinga PDF is a spectacle but it's more of a victory lap after Wonder-Jerghinga and everything before it, but it's still amazing.
Good fight, but not the best. The camera was particularly infuriating in this encounter.
I hope it's more then a port. W101 has so many flaws that would so easy to fix.
The thing about Armstrong's bossfight is that they made use of the fact that you barely even know about him by the time you fight him in a marvelous way. Most of the time when a game does this it feels like a bullshit asspull boss that came out of nowhere and isn't satisfying to beat. Other times games do the opposite and build up the final boss to retarded expectations that it can't possibly meet.
Armstrong, however, is only barely teased, and when you do meet him at the very end of the game he's such an awesome character that you just want to beat his gay ass and suck his dick because every single moment with him on screen has been awesome. I don't know how platinum did it and I don't think they know either, Armstrong breaks the mold in many mysterious ways that we may not be able to figure out in our lifetimes.
>mgr2 never
>mgr2 would never live up to 1 anyways
it's a suffocating kind of sadness
It's my favorite game of all time at the moment, but I agree. If they adjusted the saving and checkpoints and the way the game handles deaths in Kahkoo-Regahs, that'd be most of my complaining right there.
i don't know why you're complaining, we got bayonetta 3 on the way.
guys does anyone have that one image of solid snake as a parrot from a drawthread like two years ago?
Last encounter in Massive Chalice
this is the best song in the OST, pay attention to the lyrics
>nintenbro
>especially after 2 which completely botched Bayo 1's difficulty and challenge
I have no faith in modern Platinum/Clover
I REALISE
>Best boss fight of all time?
I would like to put South Park Stick Of Truth. When you vs Cartman and also when you vs Kenny
>Cartman

LAPUTAN MACHINE
Let your country control your soul
>what is nier automata?
who are you quoting?
also Nier:A's gameplay is very mediocre for a hack n slash, it's pretty much carried entirely by the story and characters
>It's been five years
Where has the time gone bros.
An horrible game?
>They'll make America great again
What did he mean by this?
And by Armstrong's own philosophy, losing meant he was in the wrong.
an old Reagan slogan
dem trips
not same user but it did sound like you were talking about the game being bad rather than just the gameplay
i wish they'd increase the difficulty but Bayo is pretty much ninty territory so expect it to be casualized, and Automata was aimed for a more casual market by square
revengeance only problem was the parry being op
scalebound we'll never know
and the cartoon games yeah
after the success of Automata i'm actually expecting them to get free creative control from now on
>First phase is the same beast battle we've seen 5 times already
>second time is a cakewalk (but it has nice music)
not even the third best boss of his dlc
...
hold it right there
Kicked my ass so hard, I know it's heresy, but I didn't have a controller at the time
bayo 2 wasn't casualized, it was fucked because of the over reliance on witch time which was completely optional in the first game as shown by nonstop infinite climax, that and the constant enemies breaking your combo mid-attack, and not being able to be juggled as easily. It had some good ideas but just fell really flat and got frustrating as you got further along in the difficulty
One time he started healing with his back towards the end of the arena, so I was unable to get him out of it.
He's a nigger, 0/10
If you attack him regularly while he's healing, it still cancels the heal, he just counterattacks you instead of being vulnerable.
Attaboy
But how? He's easy as piss. I perfected him on Revengeance and Very Hard and the only thing that ever got me was improper positioning when he brings out the helicopters. You even get a checkpoint at
Also, No More Heroes had a boss roster so good I can still name all of them from memory.
Close but no cigar.
I love MGS3 and MGR is fun as fuck, I don't know of any MGS3 fan that dislikes it.
It's mostly a thing among MGS4 players.
Kino
I still dislike how Dark Souls kept getting more and more anime.
what was the name of the dream loli mecha assassin and in which game did she appear and when
>mfw he shares a voice with Adam the clown from Dead Rising and the fucking Crypt Keeper
I was speaking specifically of the first game, the second isn't nearly as good.
This nigga while not GOAT he's the best in the series, his entire fight is pure hype
>Completely shits on the previous boss who could be a final boss by himself
>Boss theme is a remix of the game's main theme
>Luger gets his final form for the fight
>The attack that kills him is Luger's true ultimate attack
he was boring compared to the rest of the bossfights, the cutscene was so cool but i was so let down.
My nigga
Real talk, but what is wrong with playing games like MGR with keyboard and mouse? I mean, wouldn't that actually be better since you get more access to keys and you don't have to take your thumb off the buttons so you can move the camera with using the right stick?
People who like games like this have been playing them since the ps2 days, they're more used to a controller for this so it seems like the obvious choice.
>I dislike how this japanese game based on Berserk had anime influences
Nigger the first fucking game had weapons bigger than your entire body
My experience playing MGR with kb+m is that angling the strikes in Blade Mode became quite difficult at points. Then again, I was using a trackball mouse (objectively the best mouse) so it could have been that.
>had anime influences
Those weapons that were bigger than you belonged to demons, however. And Ultragreatswords like the Zweihander and Greatsword were pretty thin to balance them out even if they're still humongous. Then Dark Souls 2 came turning greatswords into these fuckhuge paddles. Just look at their version of the Greatsword. But the worst offender are 3's Soul Arts. They're full anime now, whereas before there were influences but it still was a bit grounded.
Weird, I found these bosses to be the worst ones
