I'm more concerned about it being a dead device. Nintendo claims it's not being tossed aside, but I went to four stores two days ago and the stock was almost non-existent. I suspect most of the sales were promotions during the holidays when stores would have ramped up their supply. In my opinion, the Switch is not a great replacement for a dedicated Nintendo handheld like the GBA, DS, 3DS or even the 2DS. I feel like they painted themselves in a corner when they went for two screens and now any cheap handheld device will not have backwards compatibility with two generations of handheld games. No more Game Boys. What a shit future. 2DS cheese wedge is the last great Nintendo handheld.

>what went wrong
time? it came out about 6 years ago.Its like saying "what went wrong with the xbox 360?"

Nintendo is just done so is not worth it to make any new games just to piratefags. After Echoes and Samus Returns bombed because this all the support just stopped.

Nothing, the 3DS is still the best handheld to own.

>"what went wrong with the xbox 360?"
Well?

Best modern "console" to own as well IMO

I wish they would bring the GBA back. Or even a slimmer updated Game Boy. There has to be a market for a simpler handheld than the 3DS and smartphones are shit for gaming.

You forget the worst case with Superstar saga remake. Literally the game just bombed thanks to someone who leaked the game few weeks before. I this is the worst selling game from the saga because this.

I would love new games like Wario, Advance wars, Ouedan, but seeing this i can't blame Nintendo to just give up, they try last year with a good lineup and everything they release bombed so hard besides pokemon.

Piracy killed it user.
Look at the threads of people stealing Radiant Historia. It doesn't take a genius to figure out what's happening.

I was considering buying one just to play the new Pokemon with a friend. I haven't played a pokemon game since Soul Silver though, good idea?

Nintendo's games on 3DS were a huge step up from the DS.
Third party couldn't compare, but that's a problem of the industry as a whole. How can you expect modern Konami or Capcom to provide the same kind of support?

Very sad because im sure that Nintendo initially was planning to support the 3DS this year, but after all this make sense why they just drope it.

Hope piratefags can enjoy the last few games because is not anymore.

I do enjoy them a lot user, thanks for asking.

Piracy. People are stealing games directly from Nintendo's servers and there's no end to it aside from shutting everything down.

That makes no sense, games take long to develop (Samus Returns started development in 2015) and piracy only really started hurting sales in 2017.
If they have nothing for 2018, it's not strictly because of piracy.

I don't know if you will like them(I can't read your future mind),but buying a 3DS is definitely a good idea.

>Hurting sales in 2017
You mean 2014 when it became piss easy to softmod.

The market shifted. The type of smaller games made for the DS are now being made by indie devs for the pc/multiplat

Don't be delusional. The games were still selling great in 2014.

But there are many exclusives for it, just do your research, games like Kid Icarus, Kirby, etc are kino tier

That's kinda odd considering that they just released several commercial

DS got a lot of shovelware, but seems that third party devs decided to focus more on home consoles / mobiles

A shame that Capcom didn't support more the 3DS

Literally Atlus and SE are the ones who kept supporting it
