Oh wow, I’m really convinced. Not like Friday the thirteenth had to pay a bunch of streamers and baited them with nostalgia in order to get coverage. And not only that every stream of it just showcases a boring walk around a dark forest with no gameplay. Dead by daylight isn’t much better either, but Friday the thirteenth game is still worse.

The Friday the 13th game only exists because they saw the interest previous games like Dead by Daylight and that other kickstarter. I forget what it was called, but it was the same exact type of game with school kids as the survivors. Dunno if it ever got funded, but it definitely garnered attention.

If you can convince me to buy it I will play it. I'm new to this genre of game.

I’d say avoid this genre like the plague. It’s fun to play for like 4 games. Then once you see through the gameplay you won’t touch it again. Most people have just dropped it because of lack of engagement. Same shit happened to evolve. Only a few games got this formula right.

Besides the general premise, the games are nothing alike. You might as well call Crash Bandicoot a Mario clone.

It’s more than general premise. They have the same atmosphere, the same hiding mechanics, the same gameplay setup (1big bad guy against several weaker people), the same boring fucking gameplay of run away, click on objective, run away for the latter, and hunt the weaker people for the former

So every FPS is the same game, every RPG, every action adventure, every sim builder, etc. Yet it's only plagiarism when a game you don't like is in the same genre, huh?
