Optional boss fights do not mean all boss fights are optional. It is entirely possible that there is one or two bosses hidden away or some shit. I don't have any faith that the game will be good but people really are blowing this entire thing up.

I don't understand why they changed up the formula so much. Now it's another generic, cinematic TPS and there are enough of those on the PS these days.

Do they mean there are optional bosses in addition to the mandatory ones since the game is kinda open world? Or are they saying we can skip boss fights entirely with a menu option or something?
