is it third person only? if so i can see why the casuals love it

yes. It's a 3rd person only shooter.

It runs better than PUBG, it's free, it has a unique style that works and its arguably deeper than PUBG with building and destruction

Overall it's fun

It's a shooting game that rewards playing defensively.
On that basis alone I'm not a big fan.
But all my friends play it so fuck me

it rewards you playing offensively but the offence needs lazer fast reaction times and coordination.

You cant just run in a straight line into an enemy fort. There is a lot of distraction directed at the enemy and it requires you needing to coordinate distractions and your movements. It's really hard to explain because it's really something I've only had to learn on fortnite.

I don't understand how anyone can continue to enjoy these BR games for more than a couple weeks or so. It's the same game every round, and once you get good the tension goes completely until the last couple of minutes when it's the same shitty hide-and-poke fest.

I enjoyed it for the first 10 hours or so. After I kept managing to get top 10 and I saw that all the matches end in a dumb castle defense with missiles, I gave up on it.

Maybe in six months or so it might be fun to get back and see how they improved the shallow power-up system.

It's more optimized than pubg. It's free unlike pubg. It never crashes unlike pubg. You actually get rewarded for getting kills unlike pubg. The ping problem is infinitely better than pubg.

And it still somehow manages to be worse than pubg.

Higher skill ceiling than PUBG that's for sure. Still not a fan of the whole battle royale thing, though. If only they make a massive CTF or Domination game mode with destruction and building, that would be great.

I haven't played it myself personally but it's so much more entertaining to watch than pubg.

I'm hoping they refund all purchases like they did with Paragon. Sad to see pretty much all development was taken off the PvE team so that they could push more updates for the PUBG mode.

battle royale games are trash for kids who liked hunger games and the PvP parts of dayZ

Git gud. Truthfully, Fortnite is more forgiving because you can actually see people in the distance if you have good situational awareness. Contrary to how people try to frame it, PUBG and Fortnite require mostly different tactics.
