ASSFAGGOTS will always be a shit genre for people who find the most mundane things fun. It's like bejeweled or guitar hero: a dead end that nobody should take seriously.

Both have rampant cheating that makes any sense of pride or accomplishment absolutely meaningless.

It depends on what you you want. I prefer league because I just want to fight people. Dota is definitely the more deep and strategic game by far.

League is better because it has Kled, my husband.

Having played the two and after quickly dropping DotA, I think League is better, it just feels better to control your character in this game, it feels more crisp and reactive. The art direction is infinitely better, also.
I know having 200 layers of ""depth"" to masturbate to in your popular MOBA must be entertaining in some way but I don't really get the appeal of DotA outside of the fact that it came first. It feels so incredibly dated.
That said, LoL got boring at some point. I got to Masters in two seasons and then stopped because it's the same shit all the time.
WoW became shit and everyone migrated to some other game. That's what happened.

Dota's characters are all clunky as shit with braindead point-and-click abilities/CC. Dota is all strategy and no skill.

as a Moba Idort my ranking goes as follows :

1.HoN for basically being Dota but with more flavor, fun OC heroes and overall improvements. Sadly its in a perpetual state of living undeath because nobody remembers that it exist

2.LoL because its got some crazy fun OC donut steels like Jhin,Zed or Lee Sin. The game also has amazing lore/cinematics/sound team to the point their own project albums hit top of Itunes (Pentakill). The only bad thing about the game is the balance team is annoyingly awful and inconsistent. Morello was the hero we needed but didn't deserve.

3.Dota2 I honestly find it more fun to watch than to play.I really wish Valve would enforce a regionlock but sadly doing so would kill the game as Russians/Peru's and SEA make up 70%of the game. Oh also TurnSpeeds feel higher than in HoN which Is a personal turnoff

4.Vainglory. It actually has some pretty QUALITY hero design sadly there are only like 15 heroes compared to other moba's that have well over 100 so matches feel kinda repetitive after a while due to same picks. Also the fact that this shit is IOS touchpad only pisses me off because touchpads get smudged so fuckign easily and playing with a stylus feels awkward

Meanwhile you can fight in Dota roaming and get first blood before the game even starts. While the game also incentivizes fights because of smoke of deceit and night time vision and critical wards.

Everything in DoTA 2 is so fucking slow compared to LoL. LoL has faster animations, faster movement, no turn ratios, better sound effects and other shit like this, making it much more fun to use abilities and kill things.

Yet the pace of the game itself is still faster.

Cast animations are the reason why so many Dota abilities have strength and impact and LoL feels weightless.

I get your point, but the boring shit that is competetive league is not the same game as the one most people play. The game most people play has huge clown fiestas bot lane at around 3-5 minutes every game. I think the point of op was that league is more focused on action (hitting your "skill"shots and moving around dodging shit) while dota is more about strategy (setup and positioning pre-fight, timing cc etc.)
Dota is still the better game in almost every respect tho.

That's completely false. Ganks last mere seconds as they should. Most late game teamfights last a long time, sometimes even letting multiple ulti cooldowns in one fight. Buyback mechanic makes long fights even more possible because if you get bursted down quick you can always buyback and keep fighting.

There are tons of heroes that excel in the long fight too, like Slark or Invoker or Storm.

the real question is which one would win in a 5v5 match.
Every game has access to its mechanics, heroes and items.

Dota because stuns last for a way longer time and have more powerful items that will either let them survive or burst harder. Flash won't save you from a Blink Dagger or Sheep Stick.

I don't play either games but at least I get what's happening in League. Guess that's why it's the most popular game.

I used to play jungle in League. Its not nearly as fight heavy as playing a jungler in Dota. If you play a jungler in Dota and aren't getting kills non-stop then you are probably going to lose. You aren't dependant on blue/red buff for ganks and smokes allow you to bypass wards. Its much easier to fight early in Dota because escape mechanics are rare or costly. Shutting down heroes before they get blink or BKB is your main goal, not just baby sitting needy tops and bottoms and occasionally killing Dragon.

Mabey early game, but mid-late it seems like anyone worthwhile to play can either tank the damage of a tower or has so much mobility, they can get in and out of a dive before getting 3 tower shots.

Because you don't play Dota and you do play or are more familiar with League. When I first transitioned from LoL to Dota I felt the same way. Now when I look at LoL it looks just as confusing, if not more.

I play both LoL and Dota and both games look perfectly clear to me, but if I open up a HoN video or something it looks like a giant clusterfuck to me.

And? What's the point of comparing two transitionary items instead of the complete items that they create? And stats are different in both games so you can't compare them based off of raw numbers.

And that's what makes them stronger items numbskull. League activates are rare and usually shit whereas in Dota every item slot is usually a ground breaking item. Supports also have huge game changing items like Force Staff instead of shit passive items like League supports.

Dota is the objective mechanically superior game.

However, I find the movement-heavy and batshit action of League more fun to play. Dota feels too slow, and League, while more casualized and arcade-y, feels like way more fun to just fuck around in while you watch netflix.

Or maybe someone uses a Zhonyas right before a key ability hits and then turn. You literally need millisecond reaction times to not die in 1 second vs champs like Rengar.

both LoL and Dota are only worth playing if you have a group of friends to play and coordinate with. If you have friends who play Dota, Dota is better. If you have friends who play LoL, LoL is better. If you are playing solo I would recommend picking something else.

What I'm saying is that LoL is designed to make it easy to see what's going on - Units pop out of the environment, big spells either stick to the ground or are transparent and don't just engulf everything. In DoTA everything blends in and there are parts of the environment that high structures like the trees that can obscure the playground. And the spells are focused on looking cool and epic, instead of being visible, telegraphed and not getting in the way.

Rapier isn't like Mejai's you retard. It actually gets picked up in pro matches and quite often as a late game item. Medusa, Sniper and Gyro will often get it in order break stalemates.

dota actives are extremely good, i never said otherwise. However i think that the higher stats that league has, the runes, the +3 spells, and the cheaper and better statwise items will tip the scales

I cannot think of anyone outside of "I have a game to lose" and Medusa that picks up Rapier.

only heroes who can play extremely safe ever get that item because thiere was a very high chance you could throw the game with it.

I honestly think that LoL has more satisfying and fun movement, attacking and casting abilities, thanks to the effects, sound and graphic design, and I don't believe that it's just about getting used to one or the other.

Rapiers are bought in competitive and high level matches. It's the literally the all-in item where nothing else will work.
