It costs $500 and can play any PS4 game. How do you feel?

It costs $500 and can play any PS4 game. How do you feel?

>100+ GB game downloads
>full size bluray drive
yeah sure

If Falcom isn't porting Trails of Cold Steel 3 to Switch and this thing would release I'd get it.

Got a question though: where am I supposed to put in the disc? Would be fucking huge.

It's digital download only
:^)

That's not possible.
Even if you used volta graphics targetted at xbox one performance and fabbed it at intel the power draw would be too high for a lithium battery to supply, especially paired with a processor.

PS4 game downloads are too big for digital only portable storage.

LITERALLY the switch
Clony strikes again!

not even fucking worth it after what they did with the vita.

>A portable that will be dropped after a fucking year
Yeah no, Sony can't even handle running 2 platforms at a same time

>Watching movies on the go

That's not how it works.

I would be concerned it would burn my hands and I'd be lucky to store 1 game in it given the patching required for pretty much any PS4 title

i'd buy that

Not really. microSDs are up to 512gb now, or thereabouts.

You seriously underestimate the speed at which small device storage is progressing. Smartphones use them, AKA the faster it progresses, the faster companies can get big bucks, meaning EVERYONE in the storage space wants to make it better, faster.
Also, switch games are pretty fucking big in a few cases, LA noire is a good one.

no. portables suck

>It costs $500 and can play any PS4 game
For 10 minutes?

yeah and 512GB storage cost hundreds.
Not an elegant solution right now

You seriously underestimate PS4 game file sizes. That 500gb card would hold no more than 4 or 5 games and would cost more than the console itself.

Sony does it again! I'm glad to support a company that's always on the forefront of innovation and originality.

do people seriously don't know how technology works, that they think about retarded shit like this?

They're going to use their shitty cards, you know the vita cards

>it only costs an additional $300 to be able to store your games
wow what a bargain

Or get a vita3g and the same stuff for 1/8 the price

I feel like I’ll wait for it to hit $299 or lower at retail.

>sonybros would buy this shit
>meanwhile xbots only need to use their laptop to play their "exclusives" on the go AND with an actual controller

>30 minutes battery

Sure, but my point is the solution is there, and by the time this system came out, the ps5 would probably be in full swing. 4-5 years from now. Why would you ever assume they'd put out a handheld device to play ps4 games when the ps4 is still so in demand?

Very few games are that big. I mean, you can point out gears of war 4 on xbone being 250gb but most games are still under 20gb. Same shit on the ps4. Don't play garbage like destiny or destiny 2, and wow, you'll be able to get dozens.

Nah, the vita cards were a choice to be exclusive because they didn't want chinese knocking them off like they did produos. The only reason they did was because produos were for an entire product line (including some very popular cameras), the vita memcards were just for vita, which wasn't a popular system itself, so no knockoffs, less easily accessible piracy. If they made a device as popular as this, I don't think they'd worry about it, they've obviously learned with the vita. It took a significant amount of time for them to slip up and leave a kernel access exploit in the system. And they haven't left one in since. I think they'd be comfortable enough to use microsd.

>4-5 years from now.
Holy backtracking, batman.

>can play any PS4 game
So it can't play anything except bloodbourne.

So you just assume that sony would drop a ps4 playing handheld system today? It would cost fucking $900 and weigh a ton, so any retard stupid enough to buy it would probably throw $400 at a 512gb microsd, too.
I guess you won, my bad.

why does sony always copy nintendo?

do they seriously believe they are gonna cash out on this when everyone already has a ps4?

mobile gaming is dead as far as handhelds go, phone gaming is only so profitable right now because everyone has a phone.

people only bought 3ds because of pokemon. thats it. people who bought it for portability are a minority.

Who gives a shit about portability past the age 12? All I see is a piece of shit that's prone to overheating and E X P E N S I V E replacement parts.

But you can use the Vita for streaming PS4 games right? Why would anyone buy this?

I don't give a shit about portable gaming and neither should you

I mean nobody's actually bought a vita.
I got a 3G vita and still have the plan, I stream ps4 anywhere I go. It's great, except for FPS and fighting games. Everything else it works wonderfully though. mhw plays perfect.

Portable MHW. I'm sold.

The vita is 6 years old

Bro, the PS$ games you can download right now are 30-40GB each. There's no portable storage available that would allow you to carry your library at this point.

most games are closer to 15-20. Lots of games are even smaller. Really only garbage ass AAA releases that nobody really buys anyway are that big.

"I gonna make the game gear battery drain look like a joke!"

You sound very autistic

>10 minute battery

LOL
