And yet you didn't buy it. What's your fucking problem, Sup Forums? Do you want fighting games to die?

Has there been any news of a sequel or something?

deader than kof at launch

Not really
>And yet you didn't buy it. What's your fucking problem, Sup Forums? Do you want fighting games to die?
Fuck off with these sorts of OPs

Looks fun but at the same time I think 2D anime fighting games are too flashy for my brainlet self. It feels like as a novice you'd have to spend a lot of time just to be able to make sense of and predict/block/react to the various characters' huge supernatural claws and swords and glowy shit suddenly appearing out of thin air in rapid succession.

>And yet you didn't buy it. What's your fucking problem, Sup Forums?
no steam release, i'll stick to gg

So you guys are going to make a lobby or what?

I prefer Melty Blood despite how dead it is.
Also Late(st) doesn't add enough new stuff to warrant me buying it for $50 again. I'll grab it on sale though.

But I did get it and even spent the last four-ish hours playing online.

>autocombo to help complete newcomers but the game does not actively encourage its use
can't you do ABC and then add the autocombo after it for more damage
i remember something like that in an old version

>buying a combo heavy game half a year after its japanese launch, and years after the previous versions came out
No thanks. Dead online sans the same 20 people everyday, all of whom have 1000s of hours in the game. No one wants to try to play a game where you're going to end up spending all your time stuck in blockstrings or combos because you haven't memorized all the arbitrary strings and gimmicks everyone has.

Maybe if they hadn't waited so long to release the English version it may have stood a chance. Coming out so closely to Dragonball was really stupid too.

>>tutorial that genuinely teaches you how to play fighting games
I would love for someone do to an experiment where they sit a fighting game newb in front of Unist tutorial to see what they get out of it.
I'm willing to bet, it's not as much as one might believe.

The tutorial is good, when you already know that shit and can just read and nod "yes, yes, they talk about these things, how advanced". But will people actually learn through it. That's the important question.

Fighting games suck enjoy your same 20 players

outside of the dead online, you're basically describing DBFZ instead of UNIST

You are a dark green square on Fighterz, aren't you?

I fucking bought it you moron.
I'm playing it right now.

I got meme'd into buying dragonshit z which has no neutral and is horrible in every way.

I don't want to shit on other games, but god damn that game is going to do some serious, nearly irreversible damage to anyone who might want to play any other fighting game.

Or maybe not, considering that there seems to be a trend towards more and more casualized/simplified fighting games.

>bland animu shit

I just recently picked up BB and I get combo'd to death in the corner with no escape many games. Eventually you start to learn the patterns and can block better and know when you can counterattack. It's better to just get your ass kicked and learn than to just face other clueless people. It sets you up for very bad habits. I can't tell you how many noob Ken players do nothing but tatsu and shoryuken because it works against complete novices, but that gameplan falls apart if the person has an idea of what they are doing.

Great, isn't it?

I bought it. I like the game a lot but I suck at fighting games since I don't play them. Who should I main?

You pick the character you like the most, unless you're a casual, then you pick the character you like the most that doesn't break your fingers

Except DBFZ has such a huge community playing it that you can fight people of all skill levels. It makes for a far more natural progression.

The thing is that these sorts of games lend themselves to learning extremely slowly because you spend such little time in neutral and so much time in block or hitstun.

but i did tho? great game btw.

>Do you want fighting games to die?

A little. Takes out a chunk of the e-sports cancer.

> fighting games
> esports
pick one and only one.

In my experience, neutral and footsies start to matter at a particular level when people are actually making their moves safe and not trying to wake up pressing buttons every time. When the gimmicks, dumb shit, and randomness stop working, that's when proper knowledge becomes applicable.
It's just the problem of getting there.

>generic anime shit
>fighting game

And yet, you seem to think it's my fault it failed

Fighting games have been esports since the 90s.

>And yet you didn't buy it. What's your fucking problem, Sup Forums? Do you want fighting games to die?
>let's invite shitposting
Why do you do this

The first version of the game didnt come with a tutorial which turned me off greatly. The arcade cabinet i played in Shibuya didnt have a single fucking indication on how the game work either.

None of the shit you posted matters because the game is too anime for anyone to even try it, especially when there is already other 3 anime franchises people play.

It was DOA from the start.

Purple, actually. Don't talk like you know shit.

It could be worse, it could be DoA

>And yet you didn't buy it. What's your fucking problem, Sup Forums? Do you want fighting games to die?
I did buy it. But I'd also be totally fine with fighting games dying, they are a shit genre.

at least doa makes shitloads of money from dlc and waifufags. it is technically worst than DOA

>And yet you didn't buy it. What's your fucking problem, Sup Forums? Do you want fighting games to die?
yes, the FGC is fucking disgusting. i pirated it 10 times

There is no purple you fucking idiot. Unless you mean your name is purple in which case you're such a casual piece of shit that you unironically rage quit in a game like Fighterz

>money from dlc and waifufags
Not to mention that the developers moved away from it, plus gacha shit.
So yeah, worse.

I keep hearing "it's too anime" as an excuse yet it's much more tame compared to blazblue, the series with gay incest, furries, pedophilia, and a super convoluted plot.

>pirating [st]
Where's the link

I finally found a 3 bar after half a year and he left on me after a match

Blazblue technically is THE anime anime fighter. Practically made for degenerates if they're not actually playing the game.

Truly, the one-and-done is the ultimate option select.

Not paying 60bux for a dead game.

This costume is seriously tempting me

You after making shitloads of money out of obsessed neets and also making shitloads of money out of gatcha.

yeah, it is sure worst than uni i am sure.

people don't give a fuck about the story, especially new players, they give a single glance at bb, gg uni and etc and immediately discard it as too anime. the only recent game that is not considered too anime is drabon ball fighter z and ironically it came straight from a fucking anime. People just see shit they recognize and buy it which is garbage like sf5 still sold reasonably well despite all it's flaws.

Do UniB characters have that ridiculously cheesy naming sense in their attacks like Blazblue characters do? I mean stuff like Carnage Scissors and Blessed Mirror, shit like that.

You at least found a match.

All the names of their moves are really stupid, but unless you like Engrish you won't get much out of it.

Fighting games make the perfect E-Sport. They're easy to understand (it's literally two health bars) and they are very competitive with little randomness if any. They're the perfect competitive game. They've been an E-Sport since the fucking 90s.

Its an anime fighter, why wouldn't it

THICK AND FASTo

Been having fun, finally starting to get the hang of it. Nanase feels super rewarding to play.

I heard that guy in your pic beat Justin Wong.

And they still somehow have less viewer than mobas do.

FIRST
SECOND
THIRD

>the aeries is reduced to gatchashit and fanservice games.
Still not seeing how that's good. Money sure but French Bread doesn't seem to care about that.

GAYBAR

Do they? Where the fuck was the advertising for this game? Why was it delayed? Why is Kusoge Tag Battle the only hope it has of getting known?

Aksys was too busy shilling Tokyo Xanadu

These are all really good questions I would have to ask Aksys since they were pretty incompetent with handling it.

I'll play it if Enkidu isn't too hard. Sell me on him.

I want to, but it's too expensive where i live, i'll wait for a price drop or a PC version

He might be one of the easier characters to play. Winning with him at higher levels require seriously outplaying your opponent though

>Auto-combo
Fuck off with this garbage. Nobody wants it. Nobody likes it. Even shitters don't like auto-combo.

Let me mash jab like a fucking nigger or fuck off.

>make a fighting game with love and care
>gets barely any sales despite superb quality
>someone takes a shit anime for little boys, makes it a 3v3 shitfest, makes the gameplay literally suck ass
>game sells millions and idiots regard as a great fighting game despite not even fighting another player.

There is no justice in this world.

you can mash jab by holding up after the first jab

DBZ has nostalgic appeal and I can tell team red put their souls into making it look cool and reference the original material. You can at least give them credit there.

just mash 4A lad

>He doesn't like moves like "Second Prohibition (Secret): Sever
Boooring.

Fighting games are nieche because you need to have special type of brain damage to even be able to enjoy the fucking shitshow the genre is. So of course a fighting game that looks pretty and evokes some nostalgia gets praises as only the tiny circle jerk club that's fgc actually likes the fighting in fighting games.

I don't want to pay for PS+ to play a game that is dead on arrival

CANTATA

buy it on ps3 then

No, fuck off.

Jab means jab. Jab doesn't mean 4A or 8A or 2A or 6A or any other gay shit.
If I mash A I want it to be nothing but fucking A unless my character has a unique move that works on multiple A's.

Auto-combo is shit. Stop putting this in games. I have NEVER fucking liked it since it was implemented. It doesn't help anybody and does NOTHING but make it so my shitter friends don't learn how to get better because I'MMA JUST MASH A NIGGA WOO I'M FUCKING GOKU NOW!

Let me mash fucking A and get nothing but fucking A.
I don't want 5 A's to actually be A>B>C>Super

desu you don't want Sup Forums to play this game. Sup Forums is too casual for this shit. why do you think they literally cannot stop dickriding the spamfest that is dbfz?

Instead of making a nice UNIST thread, you just had to invite shitposting didn't you? Nice job OP.

Maybe that's what he wanted

>Fighting games should be all about that hardcore execution, no baby shit, I want to break my fucking wrist and fingers doing the most basic shit.
>But minimal amount of extra execution that comes from added autocombos is bad.

it's 40 dollars

To be fair, I wish it didn't exist too but I'll make do.

To be fair, all the nice UNIST threads have died since no one wants to talk about the game unless it's literally midnight

>Implying autocombo adds anything of worth

>Fighting games should be all about that hardcore execution, no baby shit
I never said that. Don't put words in my mouth. I don't like it when you do that, much in the same way I don't like it when the game plays itself because I hit A 4 times in a row real fast.

When chuuni shit roleplaying has gone too far

Whats the cheapest stick I can get for the PS3 version (because fuck paying for PSN+) ?

More like when most of the playerbase is active at night. The rest is just an entertaining coincidence.
I mean, where's the lobby? You do want to play right?

Wrong. dbfz gameplay is fine. Autocombos are irrelevant in higher level play and the dash is easily punished. There is neutral.

I'm actually at work right now. I'll hop on in a few hours if this thread is still alive.

Fucking exactly
I'm on a train

Is this really your argument, that the playerbase of this game stays up until 12 AM CST specifically so they can make lobbies then as it's the most optimal time for them, because I find that to be slightly disingenuous

That's how these lobbies started. Anytime earlier and nobody showed up

I made a lobby about a half hour ago. Still up.

Yes but the game is kind, you know, localized now. The whole reason I was waiting when I could've just downloaded it digitally before. Personally I admit I've been playing the story mode mostly after getting 50 games in on day 2, but I would say the situation and the audience has perhaps changed

Good, that's honestly all that matters.

Join it. Right now!

Then by all means make earlier lobby threads. My reason for playing late is because of work and it lined up with other's schedules late at night so it worked out.
I can't show up to help fill out a lobby most of the time but if one gets going earlier, by all means.

So, from blazblue here, does this game
special intros and voice acting depending on whose fighting who?
Do do certain characters have vs themes?

I'm kinda spoiled on those

I'm not home yet.

There's a couple special intros but only on what they say, no clashing before fights.
Gordeau is the only one who got himself a unique voice set against a specific opponent
