This game will be classed as the biggest disappointment of 2018 and here's why:
> Story will be filled with forced tearjerking moments. > Previous lore from prior titles will be handwaved > Combat will be dumbed down to one button attacks that become repetitve > The camera will be a frequent issue in battle, mixed with bugs where the boy doesn't alert Kratos to an enemy behind him. > The game employs measures that forces Kratos to keep calm, and end up hurting the game's pacing ... and fun > Far too many "walking/talking" moments.

The only thing you're wrong about is assuming the game's combat will even be deep enough to have camera issues.
Nathaniel Williams
> Combat will be dumbed down to one button attacks that become repetitve At this stage It sounds like this might be true. For some reason Sony has not allowed any Hands on Previews of this game, instead only focusing on promoting the story.
The rest seem a bit farfetched.
Jackson Flores
Of course it'll be a disappointment. Sony is trying to turn all their properties into The Last of Us but don't seem to understand what made The Last of Us good.
Michael Wood
Possible.
I'd be interested if the game actually has the emphasis on exploration Barlog suggested it does, but even then the new camera system is grating.
Aiden Jones
It's certainly possible, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a huge success. I'm certainly curious about it, it looks like it could be pretty cool.
Jacob Green
>> Combat will be dumbed down to one button attacks that become repetitve
but this was all God of War games. how can they dumb it down anymore?
Evan Cruz
God of War is pretty demanding on higher difficulties though, and controlling crowds and figuring out how to prioritize enemies are pretty fun if sometimes irritating.
Sure there are still things you can do to cheese it, but the same is true for Ninja Gaiden.
Nathaniel Smith
so what exactly made "last of us" good in your opinion user ?
Brody Wright
Someone post soooooooooooooyyyyyy.jpg
Brandon Anderson
Someone never played any of the actual God of War games on the higher difficulty.
Nolan Long
> Story will be filled with forced tearjerking moments. What would you prefer? More high test low IQ screaming from TC Carson? > Previous lore from prior titles will be handwaved Only a retard calls the wasted world building from the first trilogy "lore." Literally nothing was done for it > Combat will be dumbed down to one button attacks that become repetitve You faggots complained ENDLESSLY that GOW1-3 were repetitive. Now that the formula is changed you complain about that. > The camera will be a frequent issue in battle, mixed with bugs where the boy doesn't alert Kratos to an enemy behind him. The Developers assured us this wasn't a problem > The game employs measures that forces Kratos to keep calm, and end up hurting the game's pacing ... and fun You haven't played the game faggot. Where was this complaint for RDR or TLoU? > Far too many "walking/talking" moments. As opposed to Press X for cutscene????
Ian Lopez
Nah. Game will be 10/10 and Sup Forums will Seth for months

I don't think the original games really "wasted" their worldbuilding. I'm not sure what you think they could have improved on in that respect. They're bombastic action adventure games.
Alexander Gonzalez
>responding rationally to NintendoGaf shitposts This happens for every PS4 game there is no stopping jealousy.
Xavier Gonzalez
Not that user but the multiplayer was really fun.
Michael Murphy
OP is commenting on wasted world building -- but the original GOW games had none.
Matthew Green
I did and it's the same shit but with just more dodging.
Nolan Lee
It's gonna sell like hotcakes but be hated by everyone
Joseph Nelson
They did, actually. All the various places Kratos goes to and characters he meets constitute the world building, and there's also plenty of flavor text that flesh out the gods' hubris or dickotry.
Really, 4 being a relatively fresh start makes the most sense anyway, given the state of things at the end of 3. There are also signs of Kratos's history being significant to not only how he handles his son but also how the Norse gods react to him. Whether it'll be good or warrant the more sentimental attitude is anyone's guess, but it's there.
Camden Gray
maybe its not combat that is dumb maybe you are
Lincoln Powell
>God of War is pretty demanding on higher difficulties though Oh fucking please, don't even try lying to yourself with this garbage. God of War is hardly demanding even on the hardest difficulties. The games are far too forgiving to be demanding.
Jonathan Morales
no
Jason Turner
Have you played them on the hardest difficulties? Plenty of harder games abound but it's still easy to get your shit kicked in if you aren't careful.
Andrew Martin
Yes, I have. I have played God of War 1, 2, and 3. You're delusional or just lying to yourself if you try to convince yourself that God of War is ever demanding. Like I said, it's far too forgiving even on the hardest difficulties.
Chase Hill
Uh huh.

>salty xbox soy cuck detected
Only reason why god of war is easier then other action games is because its the only hack and slash game ever that dont have bulshit camera cheap deaths. Yes you do lot of dodging and blocking on harder difficulty and its how its suppose to be. Enemy hits harder. There are plenty enemies that can one shot you on Chaos. But in gow You dont get hit by bazooka missile off screen every 3 seconds so that the game can be hard. Games are challenging and tightly designed. I completed NG 1,2,3 on highest difficulty and GOW 1,2,3 on highest difficulty. I like NG but GOW is in every possible way a better franchise and its actually fun to play.
Gabriel Williams
Sony fans will eat this up you retard.
Yes they do, an emphasis on story and being "mature".
Parker Morales
Alright, well since you're going to act like a little bitch nigger I guess i'll just have to point out what i'm talking about.
So on harder difficulties the enemies obviously become harder to kill, right? They get more health and do more damage. You want to know what completely negates this change in difficulty? What makes this almost irrelevant is how overpowered blocking is. Lets look at God of War 1 for example with the introduction boss, the Hydra. Almost every single attack that the Hydra does is block-able, and just blocking it will suffice. damage won't go through the block regardless of what attack is being done and at most is will just push Kratos back a little bit. There is absolutely no effort required to not take damage other than just hold the block button, and the shittiest part is that this is a common issue with most bosses in the entire series, regardless of the bosses size. Just block the attack, unless it's something like a grab or an obvious super attack, and Kratos will be fine. Another issue is how overpowered dodging is. It's so good, it feels like it as i-frames. It's fast, spammable, can be done forever, and goes far (depending on the dodge direction). So something like the cyclopes, which actually can't really just be blocked against, can just be dodges into infinity. The player would have to go out of their way to make Kratos get injured by fighting one, or even two, of those things.
1/2
Justin Miller
But GoW is easy on the hardest setting. Dodge and hit, dodge and hit bro.
Angel Torres
Then this brings up another problem. Whenever Kratos fights something big, be it a boss or a mini-boss, just damaging the boss will ultimately make the boss drop healing orbs or magic orbs and this happens multiple times throughout an entire fight. So if Kratos does actually get injured somehow, just hit the boss a few times and it will just drop some green orbs that Kratos can use to heal himself automatically, or it will drop magic orbs that allows Kratos to spam overpowered magic that kills everything near him. Another issue is that there are many times throughout the entire series where Kratos can't really block or dodge, because the enemy physically grabs him. You would assume that this is going to be an issue, but it’s not. Why? Because grabs do no damage. The damage comes from failing the QTE that the grab initiates, but failing one of those things is almost impossible. The worst part is that when Kratos actually breaks out of a grab, he automatically does a counter attack, and this counter attack does two things. First off, it damages the boss, and secondly, it will make the boss drop something (either healing orbs or magic orbs). The shittiest part about this is that many bosses or mini-bosses will just end up spamming grab attacks throughout the fight, which ends up making Kratos damge the boss yet doesn’t take much in the way of damage. Even with smaller enemies like the skeletons in God of War 3, if they just pile on top of Kratos he won’t take much damage and breaking out of the swarm just kills everything around him. Anyone who actually thinks God of War is ever demanding, even on the hardest difficulties, is an absolute fucking retard who probably thinks taking a shit after eating laxatives is a challenge.
Robert Nguyen
>grabs dont do damage thank you for making it obvious that you didnt play games >uses tutorial hydra boss in very first game as an example lol You are pulling encounters and situations out of your ass so you can shape your shitty argument. No one said its the most challenging game ever. Yes, there are easier setups and there are challenging ones. As any game should have them. You are just salty cause GOW is more fun then your fav game. I find ninja gaiden 2 to be fairly easy but i dont go around calling people retarded if they find it challenging.
James Bell
Really? You're saying that I never played any of the games? If kratos gets swarmed by the soldiers in 3, they just pounce on him and there's a QTE to get them off. If and when the QTE is completed, Kratos kills most of the enemies that were on him. The centaurs spam a charge attack which turns into a QTE if it isn't dodged and even stuns the enemy for a short period after it. The Medusa snakes constantly spam a grab attack to try and crush Kratos and completing the QTE injures the enemy. Even the mini bosses like the Gatekeeper and even the scorpion give the player a lot of breathing room by constantly spamming grab attacks that don't do any damage. What’s really shitty about this is that these grab attacks constantly reward the player with either boss damage or orbs (usually both). >muh tutorial boss It isn't even unique to just that boss. You want me to list another one that are just like this? Euryale in God of War 2 is pretty much the same shit, just block all her regular attacks and Kratos won't take any damage. When she pounces onto a wall, just dodge and Kratos won't take any damage because of how overpowered dodging is. When it grabs him, the grab does no fucking damage and just initiates a piss easy QTE to break out of the grab, and after breaking out of the drab the boss gets injured and drops orbs. Not only are you just a buttbalsted retard who actually isn't even offering any counter arguments, but you're calling MY argument shit. You know what shitty argument was said ITT? That God of War is even remotely difficult. That's the shitty argument. The shitty argument that you spouted and offered no actual examples of. You just bitch and moan whenever someone disagrees with you. The only challenging moments in God of War are platforming segments like the sword column in the underworld from God of War 1 or the tight rope crossing segments where Kratos has to fight enemies and move (which is made pathetically easy by just using the grab button).
Brody Gray
You are acting like all of those encounters are against solo enemies with those mechanics which they are not. Blindly attacking everything will kill you in 2 seconds. Skeletons are AGAIN the fucking tutorial. Just because you dont die on every single wave 122 time that doesnt mean its not demanding. Most of you idiots are pretending like its easy. Its not. Maybe it would be more up your ass if out of the screen projectile keeps hurting you while you try to kill same masked ninjas over and over. I can bet my house that you suck dick at video games. And not just at video games. Also i think you need to visit doctor soon cause something is very much wrong with you.
John Long
It's easy as fuck, you just suck. git gud
Cameron Flores
>Blindly attacking everything will kill you in 2 seconds. Yeah sure it will. Oh wait, it won't because Kratos can just Spam a ground pound attack using his chains which will knock down or stagger anything that isn't a boss. Or he can just block everything, or he can just dodge everything, and if he gets grabbed it does no fucking damage, Or, if somehow Kratos did get injured, he can just smack the enemy a little bit to heal himself. Oh, and you are clearly a liar because there isn't anything in the God of War games that kills Kratos in two hits or two seconds, even on the hardest difficulty. >the skeletons are just the tutorial The skeletons are found throughout the entire game you delusional retard. Did YOU not play it? The skeletons are the go-to enemy in God of War 3. They are found from beginning to end and screeching about the tutorial does you absolutely no good.
>I can bet my house that you suck dick at video games. And not just at video games. Also i think you need to visit doctor soon cause something is very much wrong with you. Oh no, my feelings are hurt. a butthurt God of War fanboy who doesn't know how to argue thinks that I'M bad at video games. Whatever the fuck will I do? I guess i need to get psychoanalyzed because I think that casual baby shit like God of War isn't hard because the developers made the games to pander to the lowest common denominator. Thanks for the advice you delusional retard, you sure opened my eyes to the truth.
Aaron Ross
I preordered it just like I do with all sony first party games.
Ethan Hall
The annoying kid is definitely the breaking point for me. I'm not thrilled about how much of a (negative) departure it is from previous games but at least maybe I could get used to it, the kid is too much.
Brandon Russell
WOW, you sure did GOOD

MOre like soy of war but let's not pretend previous Santa Monica games were good
Austin Kelly
>ninja gaiden >requires actual I frame abuse to avoid instant kills on higher difficulties >can be cheesed just as easily as god of war how stupid are you
Evan Kelly
I didn't say it could be cheesed just as easily, just that it can be.
I like Ninja Gaiden more than God of War, for the record.
Andrew Cook
>what made The Last of Us good So nothing?
Kayden Gomez
And to further clarify, I didn't intend to compare God of War on its highest difficulties to Ninja Gaiden on its hardest. That's not really a fair comparison since NG is a lot harder than God of War to begin with.
