I'm literally an hour into it and I've already beaten the 9th colossus.

yes, it's an """art""" game. easy by definition.

Muscle memory.
I can beat Dark Souls 1 (offline) without dying easily.

>drawings are art
>pictures in motion are art
>pictures in motion with player input are are

all vidya is art

same, it takes longer to ride to the colossi than it does to defeat them, on the 6th one and none of them have taken more than 2 minutes to beat

Yep. The puzzle elements of the game took up a fair chunk of my first playthrough. Once you already know the strategies and colossus locations etc, you can power through it.

>I'm literally an hour into it and I've already beaten the 9th colossus.
I don't believe you. That would be like seven minutes per colossus, with the run to them

Well yeah that's the thing, it's a puzzle game. Of course when you know the solution it's going to go fast. But even then I don't believe these guys saying they beat the things in two minutes

Once you know what to do the game is easy. It's why I only replay the game every 2 or 3 years so I forget just enough that it's still a challenge when I boot it up again.

It's more of a puzzle game once you've already beaten it and know how to beat it you can finish it very quickly. Most of the challenge is figuring out how to kill each colossus which doesn't lend much in the way of replayability. Probably help's the game runs much better than on PS2 as well so the controls feel better.

Are there any secrets or anything extra to explore in this game? I honestly don't remember there being any in the PS2 version, but maybe they added things

How different are the physics? I don't mind the different visual style but if they changed the way Wander moves and jumps around then I'm not buying it.

I've watched a couple people play the game for the first time on twitch. It gave them some trouble.

The remake added collectable coins that give you an extra thing when you get enough, but it's really superfluous. Also you can climb to the secret garden on the tower via a certain route, but it demands tons of stamina. I think I played through the PS3 version like four times before I had enough to make it to the top

It is pretty easy, but the game is incredibly easy to remember if you've already played it a couple of times. There's not much to it.

Wander seems the same but Agro is fucking hard to control, I dont remember him being so difficult in the ps2 version

Riding Agro while in the woods makes me seriously mad, he just refuses to fucking move at a decent pace unless he's 100% exactly on the path.

seriously, fucker cant run in a straight line, gets hung up on rocks, takes 20 seconds to at a decent speed, all while the camera is bouncing everywhere

love the game but they could have fixed the shitty camera/horse mechanics from the ps2 version

Yes, it's not hard beyond the first playthrough, which also isn't that hard. Limbo was kind of the same deal, easy game that people loved to replay because the setting was so strong.

>that giant seasnake that makes you swim around for 20 minutes to get it's attention, hold on for 10 minutes, then get maybe 1-2 seconds to stab it before it drags you to the bottom of the lake and if you dont kill it in those 2 seconds you have to start the process all over

I hate this shit

I've never played the original, should I play the remake?

>Childhood game
>2005

You're getting old user, time you realise it

Play it if you have the pro because at least then it's 60fps. The non-pro version is 30 and the original game doesn't even reach that.

Your body just remember the core of the gameplay. Every colossi is memorable enough for you to remember their gimmick. 60FPS also help.

I fought 3 colossi and all of them have glitches and bugs
patch when?

This is nu/v/, user.

I'm 26

In 2005, I was 12

>2005
>childhood
Why didn't the minimum age allowed on Sup Forums go up with time?

You now realize that people born in the year 2000 are 18 years old

It's a puzzle game. So if you beaten it once, of course the later playthroughs will be easy

You probably remember the trick to all of the fights. I played it when it first came out but I didn't know about the lizard tails and fruit until I had already beaten the game, so I'm hunting for those things this time which has made it more fun.

Yup, when they said they were updating the controls I thought they were talking about making Agro easier to control. Honestly I'm just walking everywhere so far to admire the scenery, but also because controlling Agro is so frustrating.

The trick is to realize you're not steering the horse, you're controlling Wander trying to steer a horse

I know, and I figured out fifteen years ago that if you get Agro up to full speed you can just hold the triangle button and he'll stay at that speed. It doesn't feel like it works as consistently in this version but I haven't played the original since it was brand new.

>he plays with modern controls

Aside from bugs, Wander's animations are worse now, more snappy with less detail. A good thing on paper but artistically it's worse.

...

It's the kind of game that you play once and you never feel like playing it again. The colossi are so memorable that you even memorize how to beat them, thus making the following runs up absurdly easy

What's wrong with my horse

I was like 14 when it came out and we played it with my friends, I still think about it as a childhood memory
I don't know what some people here want, ban everyone who isn't above fucking 30?

I just checked, I'm at 10 defeated in 2 hours 17 minutes, and I spent at least a half hour climbing fruit trees and chasing those little lizards

Took me about seven hours first time on normal, after getting lost a few times and taking a while on some colossi to figure it out. Honestly I'd have played it on hard, looking back.

Hard doesn't really change anything, just less HP and stamina I think

I think hard mode add additional vital points as well

If 14yo was your childhoodness you're now a 27yo teenager?

It's a similar difficulty to the original, it's really not a hard game. There are definitely frustrating elements like some AI weirdness but as far as dealing damage in the normal gameplay it's very straightforward. Hard time trials are another story.

One thing that I hope gets patched is the fucking autocentering camera, it is so obnoxious and it seems like it'd be easy to fix.

Hard adds sigils on some of the colossi, it's more of a change than most hardmodes. Also, it might be my imagination but it feels like Wander loses his footing more easily on the colossi.

My second play through of Bloodborne was easier than my first, my third play through was even easier than that but that doesn't make it and easy game

I hate how stable Wanda is now. I didn't really notice until I was going up the spiral bridge thingy to Gaius. When I played original I used to jump when going up that thing and watch Wanda stumble, almost fall. In the remake, he barely flinches when you jump on that.

When I was fighting the eel I was thinking about how a speedrunner would beat this piece of shit because this is taking forever

Same on Avion, you can pretty much run up & down him with little struggle now

I also did a bugged backflip on Avion where Wander spins like Sanic, made me get Hard Mode time trail super early, i hope they don't patch it out, it will be good for speed runs

Yeah I thought that too, I remember being so frustrated on the PS2 version because it seemed like he would constantly be tripping up and stumble. It barely happened in the remake, even during a fresh playthrough when he has hardly any stats

Many of us were in high school or college by then. You can't blame us for not liking you. You have no idea what vidya had to go through to get to games like this.

The controls are one of my most hated things about SotC

The entire game is overrated, honestly

>The entire game is overrated, honestly

Wrong, now kindly fuck off

i played the game and really enjoyed it but dunkey told me it controls like garbage and isn't a master piece. what do?

The physics are pretty similar but the animations are a little off.

Also, Wander looks like a giant man-baby from the uncanny-valley now. So there's that.

I never played the original but is the horse supposed to control like ass?

>Many of us were in high school or college by then
So a whopping three to five years older

>You have no idea what vidya had to go through to get to games like this
Again, that's a five year difference

t. different guy

Disregard his opinion and enjoy what you like?

You're not controlling the horse directly, you're playing as Wander and you steer the horse through him

How did you do it? I thought sanic flip just glitches you out of the map.

It's less about age than mentality. Shadow was such an innovation that to see it described as a childhood game makes people mad. It's a love for something like how modern day SonyPonys refer to BB as "Kino". But less pretentious.

I only recently played the PS3 HD remake and that one also was piss easy once you got the hang of the controls.
But of course Sup Forums retards will tell you that they dumbed it down.

that honestly sounds believable. only a couple of the later ones take any time and that's mostly becuase you are forced to wait for certain animations or whatever. I played the game for the first time with this and none of them really took more than 10 or 15 minutes

>complains that Agro controls poorly
Casualfag, probably underage, a soyboy or a girl gamer. Likely complains about classic Resident Evil game's controls too. Low IQ. Unable to learn or understand basic concepts. Possibly a game journalist.

>put 10+ hours into the original demo from the Official Playstation Magazine back in 2005
A true patrician.

I tried the game for the first time in general on the PS3 and later brought the PS4 version a few days ago because I wanted to experience it remade. It feels easier, but for good reasons. The controls the PS2/3 version are genuinely bad and the PS4 version makes them much more comfortable. Basically the controls were fixed and now the game feels easier.

I was 9 when this game came out. Get over it fagots. People continued to be born after you were. Amazing concept I know.

>he doesn't use classic controls

this and unironically
I fired up the old ps2 not too long ago and it took only the first colossi to get use to the controls

yeah, on normal and once you know how to beat the collosi it really is easy. I can just run through the game so quick, I did yesterday, frst time.
Only issue I had was that they changed the sweet spot on the last collosi so I couldn't just kill him without him trying to shake me off like the original.

12 and 13 can take some time to fight

You already knew how to beat the bosses so no shit sherlock

2 minutes is long for some colossi. I beat 11 within 2 minutes for sure, he only takes one full charge stab now.
the first couple also went pretty quick.

Agro has always been famously retarded to control
I can't decide if I'm happy they left him the way he was or annoyed they didn't improve it.

The way Agro controls is awesome. You people are literally retarded. He still has the most realistic horse controls in videogames to this day.

I will agree that it's realistic, but that doesn't make it awesome. I like the quick start and 180 maneuvers but sometimes Agro will charge straight into a pillar and it takes an annoying amount of time to get him to turn.

It's a fucking puzzle game with exploration and platforming for variety. You did the puzzles and explored the map already, what did you think would change this time?

> t. plebbit

On a scale of 1-10 how dumb am I for being stuck on the 2nd colossus?

5 I guess. hint: he has weak ankles

Wtf?? Agro has always had auto pathfinding, you don't even have to touch the stick like she's a fucking car, just adjust the angle you wish and Agro will take herself the necesary curves.
