200+ hours logged in game

>200+ hours logged in game
>leaves a negative review

I have literal years logged into WoW and I would definitely rate it a 4/10.

When you think about it, they really would know best about the game. I mean, it is still totally fucking stupid to put 200 hours into something you don't even enjoy, but maybe they'll tell me something useful.

What are you gonna do about it, psycho boy?

These kinds of reviews are most common in multiplayer games that can change a lot as time progresses, for better or worse.

>it was a fun game until the update
For sure a little update ruined an entire game my man.

>What is Team Fortress 2?

>1.2 hours on record
>still leaves a legit review

People will say it's only because of updates but this shit still happens on single player games which haven't changed much, why would you play 500 hours of skyrim if you think it's a shitty game and then complain about it, just don't spend hundreds of hours on games that suck, it's pretty simple.

Sometimes its unfair since they just grew tired of i t, but sometimes if they patch in a change that fucks it over a negative review after many hours is more than deserved.

>I have literal years
No you fucking don't

I've spent 500 hours on games I'd define as mediocre, not good.

> it's okay to review a film without watching all of it

This is how retarded you guys sound

I see no problem. Game is shit, so low fun per hour ratio. Needs to spend a lot of time on it to squeeze out a bit of entertainment and feel compensated for the money wasted on that crappy game.

What is 7.00

Makes a lot of sense for Early Acess games that change a ton of shit on release. Otherwise I question why someone would dump multiple days of playtime into a game they hated.
I guess if the publisher went maximum jew and they were giving a warning it would work, but if it's just complaints about the game why would they stick with it so long?

A wrong opinion that you have

>just don't spend hundreds of hours on games that suck, it's pretty simple
I spent almost a thousand hours on Dark Souls 2 because I was a retarded fanboy who was desperate to love the game. Never underestimate autism

>less than 1 hour
>"I don't like it but other people seem to"
>leaves positive review

If a movie is so bad you cant sit through to the end, it should receive a bad review.

the only game I would thumbs down is WoW vanilla
>15/mo still in 2018
>barely any quests
>300 hours to level
>raid bosses drop 2 pieces for 40 people
>if you're plate you're poverty
>respec is 50g you're fucked if you're a healer, all dps classes stay rich
>can't have alts because it'll take another 6+ months or a year if you're a normie to level
>can't just login to another server to play with friends, gotta pay up or in vanilla level up another character
>pvp unbalanced as shit, gear was based on who can grind 8 hours a day to become high warlord based on HK's, get 2-shot by said players
>level up as druid, lmao can't be a shapeshifter, you're a healer
>level up as pally, lmao can't be a holy warrior, you're a priest now
>level up as shaman, lmao you don't use the elements, just stick with the earthmother

fucking idiots who want vanilla back, I would thumbs it up when Burning Crusade releases though

I spent 184 hours in Starbound looking for "fun" but not once was it found anywhere. The entire experience can be summed up as "busywork" done because, "fuck it I don't have anything else better to be doing right now."

I'm sure a movie like Troll 2 would have miraculously started getting better in production quality after the first hour

I spent 128 hours in starbound because Enraged Koala was amazing. Post-beta is fucking awful and I wish I didn't kickstart it. Why the fuck did they even remove content?

Wasted money can be replaced. Wasted life can't be.

Though I will admit some games hit that weird spot of sorta boring sorta fun that you zone out into and then wake up realizing you could play better.

I've watched a 7 hour film because I kept hearing it was great. I hated it and remains my most hated movie of all time for multiple reasons that aren't video games. I pushed myself through thinking it might get better but it never did and the same could be said about games. You don't need to play a full game to know it is terrible and nobody forces you to play the whole thing so if they want to put the time and effort to finish it let them be.

Also you can't refund games on steam if you've played for more than 2 hours. Some exceptions are possible but people keep that in mind at times. Lastly some people are masochists (Like me) and they will play through shitty games and watch shitty movies for their own entertainment while being aware that shit's terrible.

You should probably read up on what happened to Star Wars: Galaxies.

They should really base refunds off % of estimated hours. Screws small games or simple games, but long ass open world and RPGs you are 2 hours in before the tutorial is over anymore.

I hope you weren't referring to Scarface. What movie even is 7 hours?

>it's like being a waiter/waitress at a restaurant, serving a customer who is very kind towards you, up until they leave the building, only to end up bitching on yelp describing you and how horrible you are at doing your job.

Many people do

Who would win:
>2 hours logged in game
>negative review
>you haven't played enough to be able to review it!

>200 hours logged in game
>negative review
>why did you play it so much if you hate it?

No way!

Nobody does that

That would be a good implementation but some people deserve to learn by their mistakes too. The refunds system isn't perfect but I am glad it exists. Maybe keep it at the same 2 hour limit where anything after it starts discounting how much money you can get refunded up to a limit.

Of course not, that was just a reaction picture I found suiting. It was pic related. It is just a novelty movie because it lasts 7 hours, else nobody would give a fuck about it other than it was filmed by an over hyped director only hipsters know/care about. I kept seeing it on 3x3 threads and got curious but it fucking sucks. Yet there is a shill defense force whenever this piece of shit is rightly criticized because they can't admit they watched a movie where practically nothing fucking happens for most of its duration and go through loopholes trying to explain it is 2deep4u. Simply put it is the most poorly paced movie on earth and with scenes where the camera doesn't move for 10 minutes straight as it records. Its SHIT.

I did this for EU4 because of the dlc scam. There are situations where awesome time-sinks get turned into huge heaps of bullshit because of patching.

>mfw I was busting my friends balls about how much he played wow since 2007 and he shows me his time played (pretty close to yours).

The first one. Games never get better as you play them. They either play well or don't from the get go

>amusing event happens in game
>10/10 would ____ again

I wish that was true, man

>people who leave those lazy copypasta reviews and just fill in the blanks

I'd trust a negative review from someone with 200 hours in the game over a positive one with 1 hour in the game.

i find that games replayability factor is what makes the game a keeper. its been this way since day one.

>do you want to replay all the way through the game to get special modes?
>how do you feel about it? lets try hard mode.
>did you collect all the items? you get a special bonus

river city ransom did it well and games like re2 dual shock was cool.
the only zelda i bothered to replay was OOT, everything else felt like a chore.

I could spend a lot of time on a game and come to realize that it's objectively not that great even if I enjoy it.

>i hated this game but i had to finish it so w/e
Is your life so worthless and pitiful that you'd spend literally weeks of it doing something you hate of your own volition with no positive consequence?

>people who give greentext reviews

That's not a review, just barebones facts about the game

Dota 2. I really wish we can go back to when it had just came out of beta.

It's called buyers remorse user, people try to get the most out of a shitty purchase by getting as much time out of it as possible.

>1000 hours logged in game
>for anything

I have 700 in TF2 which I haven't played in years and spent literal days idling in when that was a thing

I played Warframe for 611 hours and I can't say I found much enjoyment in it. I can say that I tried, however.

>Man I fucking hate being here.
>I better stay here as long as possible because I made a mistake and should somehow abide by it as long as I possibly can.
Yep, sure makes sense.

3.4k hours of dota 2 here

>people who leave bad reviews only because of day one online problems

1000 hours into RUST is basically the tutorial.

>tfw I don't finish games I love

once I realize I'm near the end of a game I just completely lose interest and I'm not sure why. Maybe I'm just too traumatized from shitty endings

So basically Sup Forums?

Skyrim is relatively unique in being an open world rpg that let's you fuck around with NPCs figuratively and literally with mods as well as having a large modding scene. That said you'd be a dumbass not to acknowledge the fact that it executed everything in the most mediocre way possible.

I got about 120 hours in before I realized that spending all day farming supplies and building a base with like 5 layers of walls to my loot room, just to wake up and realize I gave it all to a group of guys farming C4 mats all day wasn't fun.

>man I'm starting to feel like I wasted my money
>no, there has to be something here to justify me buying this game
>and when I find it I will defend it to the death against anyone who makes me think I wasted my money
Yeah it doesn't make sense. That's why people like that sre made fun of.

Probably posted the review and then got hooked after that.

I have 6000 hours in tf2 but a lot of it is idling. It’s closer to 2.5k real hours

*Unexpected turnabout!*

Is he spitting out a lollipop

I dunno man, I wouldn't recommend Dota to most people. And it's not because of the state of the game currently, either.

>time invested equals enjoyment

Probably spent a collective year on WoW. Thousands of hours on Runescape, WC3 battle.net, and Tibia. All from my childhood. Haven’t spent over two hundred hours on any other game

...

>When you think about it, they really would know best about the game. I mean, it is still totally fucking stupid to put 200 hours into something you don't even enjoy, but maybe they'll tell me something useful.

Unappreciated rational response that I was gonna post if I hadn't seen it.

Basically. Did you think you'd sound smart by greentexting it?

>I've spent more hours on Sup Forums than I've spent on video games in the past 10 years

Do you ever plan to leave?

I've planned to leave for at least six years now.

I'll leave when I die.

I did this to GTA V. I have 200 hours and I gave it a negative review because:
>It's been out for 5 years and it's still $60USD on Steam
>It's been out for 5 years and hackers are still in every lobby (It's probably gotten worse actually)
>Only one new heist has been added since
>Loading times are really awful still
>Joining lobbies and GTA:O is still really buggy
The reason I have so many hours is because I played with friends, forcing myself to ignore the overall shitness of the game to try to have fun with people.
They should block people from reviewing things until they have at least 60 hours or more, because I'm sick to death of shit like:
>[1 hour in game] "I beat a prostitute to death 10/10 XD"
>[20 mins in game] "It's GTA, nuff said"

>that feel when you made a new years resolution to quit Sup Forums but you're still coming here anyway

It happened with The Culling. That was a really fun game until they decided to ""update"" the combat. Now it's dead as donuts.

I've spent so much time here that I really don't know what to do on the internet when I'm banned

Bloodborne went from 100 to 0 for me as soon as NG+ started

Starbound

>EoC
>Grand Exchange

>tfw tried to relegate Sup Forums time to only 2-3 hours per day so you can actually be productive and maybe finally get a job but you're stuck spending just as much time here as you always have if not more

Fuck it all family

I never understood why people want to leave. Then again, my social and financial life is well

>1800 hours
>leave a negative review
Come at me bro.

Some games have so many different ways to setup and play through, that many hours are needed to give it a fair review. Take Civ VI; sure you could just say it's shit right off the bat, but to fair, you should play under different setting combinations, try out all the civs, and give online a shot before you just hand out a bad review. Then there is the dlc that comes later that you have to play before reviewing. So 200hrs later, a bad review that is also fair comes out. It's even more likely with early access type games. You play those and know they will change quite a bit as time goes on, so your opinion of it can change as well.

Would you rather they only play for 20hrs then give a horrible review? They for sure haven't played all the game, haven't tried different builds, and haven't bothered to install any mods. At least with someone who has put in 200hr+, you know they have given it a fair shot and still have a bad opinion of it.

kek as soon as you said that the movie was 7 hours I thought of this movie. it's a shame the film is so shit because I actually liked the book.

Ragnarok Online Renewal

Literally made a unique MMO into generic trash

>watches 300 episodes of an Anime series
>reads 500 chapters of a Manga
>it's shit llmao
this is you.

>Basically
It doesn't

Never really bothered me because I know some people like to really dive into a game before they form an opinion about it. With me though, If the game isn't doing it for me, I usually drop it pretty quickly.

How? Video games aren't a job, its a hobby. If you invest time in something related to a hobby, then you like it.

Hi-Rez raped the corpse of already dead Tribes: Ascend by removing half of content from it in the patch that was supposed to revive the game.
The were gathering feedback for that patch exclusively from reddit btw.

There probably isn't an MMO that hasn't been downgraded with an update at some point.

>Expanding cash shop items that make gameplay easier over time
>Leveling becomes easier, making previous grinding leave a bad taste in your mouth
>Combat/Talent Tree/Skill reworks
>Total game overhaul soft relaunches that have a 70% chance of making the game worse to try and lure in more customers

>2 hours on record
>praises game's replayability

This place brings hate into my heart and makes me feel like I'm some kind of horrible monster person sometimes. Usually when I'm off Sup Forums for a couple days that feeling goes away and I regain my sanity and positivity.

completely and utterly justified if the game is TF2

I only feel that way with Sup Forums. It was fun browsing that place during the Zimmerman era, but during and after this election it just became too much. Don't hate Trump or anything, but getting sick of the SJW shit and the r/The_Donald cancer.

/fit/ Sup Forums and Sup Forums are my comfy places.

It takes billions of hours to turn any TES game into something remotely playable without getting exhausted to death by countless ejaculations.

Sometimes you just play the shit out of a game despite not enjoying it that much or enjoy it but recognise it's objective flaws the more you play.

I gave Fallout 4 a negative score despite putting in 141 hours according to Steam.
