If you want more complex behavior and better creatures, go into settings, click the brain, and set the number in the middle to 50 or some other high number
You could even have more layers if you want
Also turn your mutation rate up and have each generation take a little longer if you are having trouble with robots walking a little ways and then falling over and not getting up

Each time I run it for a while the creatures learn to walk in a different manner, even if I don't change anything
