As far as games go, I recommend Yoshi’s Island (colorful palette, hand drawn look, don’t go for any of the sequels and ruin it though) and Shadow of the Colossus. I’m biased but I love Final Fantasy XV as well, hopefully Kingdom Hearts III comes out before your vision is lost as well.

But for real, if you can, save up some money and go on a trip to somewhere you haven't been before e.g. if you live on the United States east coast, go drive through the Rocky Mountains. Those'll be some good memories to take with you into the dark.
