I'm dissapointed, my whole life I thought that Stalker is some kind of a relic amongst RPG games, yesterday I finally got the game, started to play it and I found out that it's pretty much just an FPS with interesting story. I miss exp points or some kind of percs, because I'm not motivated to go for any other quests other than the main one.
It's a good play but I thought more of it.

Yes the main quest is the point, at least in Shadow of Chernobyl. Most every other quests is just a way to get equipment. Try Call of Pripyat, its side quests are little more fleshed out.

Stalker is a great game and this is coming from someone with 400 hours on EU4 and CK2 and 200 hours on Gothic 2.

It still works like a RPG, you start weak and barely able to shoot and become better in every aspect.The game is primarily an FPS so your skill need to be more important than the character's skill, you don't want "real stats" here.

its not a fucking role playing game you retard, and you dont have to do any of the side missions in SoC because they are mostly experimental or filler, CoP has much better side missions if that's something you actually want
