After seeing it in motion, it honestly looks like it works well. They should have just opened with this trailer to begin with. I thought it'd be a flimsy and inaccurate gimmick. It would be interesting to see if they could implement these types of interactions with amiibos or other types of peripherals with other games already out. Nintendo put the blueprints for all the labo stuff up on a website, they encourage people to make their own.
They give you an easy to assemble set when you buy the game, but the cardboard shit isn't proprietary and they never tell you that you have to buy it from them.
