Make thoughtful and elaborate reply to user
>make a post
>get multiple (You)s
>quit the thread in panic
I just dont know how to respond
This happens to me in every single thread but this one.
>make thoughtful reply
>zero responses
>Faggot posts cropped tranny porn
>eight hundred million billion (you)s
I'm glad I don't go on plebbit or other upboat communities because I don't know how I could survive my rage.
I know that feel. Happened again just a minute ago too. Was going to vent about some bullshit that happened in Subnautica until I noticed the thread was long gone. Now it feels pointless starting a new thread just for that post.
>Post reply
>post a grammatical error like your instead of you're
>get flood of reaction images
>close thread and leave Sup Forums for a couple of hours due to embarrassment
>make thoughtful and elaborate reply to user
>"kys"
>find an interesting thread
>it has 350 posts already
>404s before I get to the end of it
>can't contribute anymore
>jump in in the middle of a discussion
>make a long and elaborated post
>discussion comes to a sudden halt
>everyone abandons the thread with inexplicable coordination
>your post just sits there pathetically as the last one in the thread
Also I'm slow as hell to write because I doubt a lot so I tend to let threads die while thinking my responses.
>find an interesting thread
>it has 350 posts already
>feel i won't get noticed so I ignore it
>embarrassment
>annonymous imageboard
I tend to save threads that might seem interesting and read them later while traveling. I always get the urge to give (you)s to dedicated posters who weren't acknowledged in the thread, but I can't because the thread is long dead.
Fuck I do the exact same thing.
>express opinions with the goal of generating genuine debate
>responses are "lol its just a X", "but I think its fine", "your opinion is shit", or some other variation of simple deflection because they think I'm trying to hurt their feelings for trying to make them question their own opinions and beliefs
Why even make thoughtful and elaborate reply? It's just gonna get shitposted to death.
>Make a subtle joke
>someone gets it after 200 replies
>thoughtful and elaborate reply
>on Sup Forums
>on Sup Forums
That's one way to spend your time I suppose.
The chance for even a tiny bit of proper discussion is better than none at all, imo
>It's shit so there's no point in trying to improve it
Nice
>find an absolute SHITPOSTING PORN thread that has absolutely 0 things in common with video games
>find "interesting" shitposters that argue about shit nobody ACTUALLY gives a flying fuck about, but you like to pretend it's important for you and them, and you like to pretend you're ACTUALLY having an argument
>so you make this long, convoluted post that explains your position and theirs, without forgetting to call them a retarded faggot nigger jew ball sucking crack licker
>404 not found
It's the difference between
"X is lame" which is an opinion that won't generate debate and "X is lame because A,B,C, and D"
Of course is A, B, C, and D are retarded and wrong or "well I like A and B", well your opinions are shit
Exactly.
>really hit it off with an user
>want to exchange contact info
>thread 404s
>never see that user ever again
Every time. Or read a thread and find that someone has said what you were thinking.
Literally me, holy shit.
I'd always be worried about trying to exchange info
>its a "you browse other boards and have no idea why you still lurk Sup Forums" episode
its a mixture of morbid curiosity and sheer habit.
>actually discuss a game with people for once
>yeah guys, join this this discord server i made and the-
you guys sound like you need a tumblr or something lmfao if u need gratification im sure you can find it in that safe space
>make a post
>someone replies "i hope youre baiting"
>wasnt baiting
>user screencaps your posts
It feels like you won
>user tells you you're cute
>see interesting thread on first page
>click it
>404 not found
every fucking time
>say something bad about an old game
>everyone calls me an underage and tells me to kys
>I'm 32
>they're probably underage themselves
>collecting Sup Forums (you)s
you blow out one's back, and 30 more come out of the woodwork
That's how you know your opinions are correct
ur ugleh user
>Someone says something incomprehensibly stupid.
>Call him out for baiting.
>Wonder if he's actually serious.
>Wonder if I would help him understand by just spelling out the obvious for him.
Yeah I still don't post that much and mostly lurk and read posts.
tfw no one ever replies to my posts unless i shitpost
>Make post showing how to cure Sup Forums of political shills, offsiters, and ban evaders
>immediately after thread gets "mysteriously" deleted.
this is a shitpost now
>perfectly fine vidya thread
>404
Try including a question
Statements don't always illicit a response
>give criticism to some design decision or point out some egregious bug in a game
>"I think it's fine :)"
that reminds me
>ask question on /vg/
>promptly ignored, MAYBE one "check the 50 page guide"
>reword question as an inflammatory shitpost
>get dozens of angry (you)s that answer the question
god I fucking hate /vg/
Breivity's a good thing.
>make a thoughtful reply to user
>keep tweaking it since I'm not satisfied with it
>30 minutes later not even sure if I should post it because it's been so long
>after posting it there's a stupid spelling error because I reformatted one too many times and didn't notice.
thats just Sup Forums in general. i always put subtle political comments in my posts if i really want replies.
>call other anons virgins as a form of insult
>I'm a virgin myself
Just happened to me 5 min ago
not true, other hobbyist boards and even on-topic Sup Forums doesnt suffer from this issue. /vg/ won't look at your query unless you intentionally bring up their clique bullshit in a shitpost
this
>accidentally leave in a sentence I meant to delete
>the same thing is said twice differently beside each other and ruins the whole post
>forgot a "not" and said the complete opposite of what i wanted
i usually just alt+f4 my whole firefox when that happens
I always do reverse psychology. For example, I went to one of the nutaku threads and wanted to know if a particular game had ntr (which I hate). I made my post to look like I wanted the game to have ntr (with a bueno picture for good measure), and viola I had my answer.
>find an interesting thread
>it has 350 posts already
>make a reply when you get to the end
>12 new posts
>discussion promptly dies with your post or was already on its way out when you posted
>Make a joke post
>Forget to include a word and it becomes a confusing broken sentence
This happens to me every single time
>find a thread that looks like it has potential
>post controversial opinion with matching image
>wait
>reply to myself with another view on said controversial opinion
>fan the flames on both sides as needed
I don't know why making people upset is so entertaining. It's literally a hobby for me as I spend more time doing that than anything else.
